On the way to see DP of a year. He’s text this morning with dinner plans. I get a text from a close friend with a screenshot of him on a dating app?! She is dating avidly and just come across it.

I don’t get why he’s do this? I feel sick.

Can your friend see how long he's had the account, when he was last on? Sorry I don't use OLD so not sure how it works.
I would see if she can do some digging, then ask him about it.

Susannahmoody · 28/08/2021 20:40

Fake profile. Ask him to meet for a quick shag. See what he says.

That'll tell you all you need to know

Viviennemary · 28/08/2021 20:45

I don't know why you are taking this so seriously. Just ask him about it. Theres probably a reasonable explanation

Suzi888 · 28/08/2021 20:50

Don’t you forever stay active on tinder? I’m sure I read this somewhere.

georgarina · 28/08/2021 21:04

Check his phone or if you can't, set up a fake profile and see if he matches/engages with it. Also check his photos and see how recent they are. Hopefully it's nothing. Flowers

I was still.on a site months after I had deactivated it.

Aliceclara · 28/08/2021 21:39

If you've been together over a year he should have deleted it long ago. Get your friend to contact him and see what he has to say to a potential dating partner?

Aliceclara · 28/08/2021 21:40

Contact him on the app, I should've said

Wombleofwimbledon1984 · 28/08/2021 21:57

Is it on happn? My profile appeared a year after I’d deactivated it. They keep profiles swilling around to boost their numbers. It’s terrible really.

PurpleOkapi · 28/08/2021 22:20

What service are you talking about here? Some have a feature where they let you hide your profile for a preset length of time (often 3 or 6 months), and then it automatically reactivates at the end of that time. It would be easy enough to confuse that with permanently deleting it, and then forget about the whole thing.

TartanJumper · 28/08/2021 22:38

Could his version of delete be just to not log in anymore?
I'd be tempted to catfish/have a friend message him before writing it all off.

DespairingHomeowner · 28/08/2021 22:42

Hi OP - I’ve just been notified by a website that they will delete my profile after THREE YEARS of inactivity

Obviously it would be horrible if he’s cheating on you, but don’t be hasty: talk to him about it OR do the fake profile thing / whichever you think best.

PornStarQuarantini · 28/08/2021 22:48

I think the phone's battery usage log shows what apps have been used. Maybe look at that. I'm guessing it's Bumble by the B reference, which is one that links by location/proximity. He could delete and reinstate the app to use, or use a second phone - or it could be an innocent mistake....

honeybuns007 · 29/08/2021 19:35

have you asked him OP??
