Friends jealous

I have a business and have worked my ass off for 4 months since leaving my partner. I put up a picture of my new car and my best friend didn't even send a message back. Don't know what to think. One friend replied and she didn't. Not sure I should of said anything now but i was so happy to get it with working 12 hour days etc. I feel I am moving up and she doesn't like it. Any advice please.

How embarrassing. Lesson learned not to brag on social media. Its so crass. I doubt your friend is jealous. A new car is not the be all.

Yeah.. If its a MLM business then you definitely do not deserve acknowledgement.

A picture on social media? How do you know friend even saw it, or did you tag her?
I'm not very interested in cars. As long as it gets me safely from a to b its enough for me so a new car would barely register. Now get a kitten and you'll have my attention

My friends post photos of their new cars from time to time - I'd never dream of commenting- I'm really just not that bothered 🤷‍♀️

(And usually showing off about a car/other equally expensive purchases says more about you than the "friends" who don't comment)

Also I know plenty of people who drive around in flashy cars and post photos about them.....except the cars are all on finance...not like they've actually earned £50k-£100k and bought one outright

Honestly I’m guessing it’s a WhatsApp status pic so OP can see whose viewed it or Instagram story. Tbf I wouldn’t message and be like oh congratulations on your new car. It’s hardly like having a baby is it?

When you say you have bought a new car, do you mean 'new to you' as in a few years old, but better than your old one, have taken on a finance contract or bought the car outright from your earnings of four months ?

Just trying to assess the 'showing off' scale ?

I assume it's an MLM lease car. Where you're responsible for the payments but shout about the company 'giving' you the car? Oh dear. You've been had if so. Come back when you've seen the light and are ready to admit so.

Less than 98% of people who join MLMs will make a profit after 12 months if I recall the stats.

Also even if a mate got a brilliant new job, I'd congratulate them on that and be so proud of them. But would think it was fucking weird for them to send me a picture of a new car they bought as a result...

I feel for you, I largely gave up with SM after I posted a selfie where one could clearly see an v. expensive pair of shoes on the window cill behind me and no one commented on them. I was even casually pointing at them with my Nan's walking stick. I think they were all jealous as no one else had a pair like them in my class
