am I overthinking?

hi I've been dating somebody since Nov 2020, he's been on furlough working as a builder until 2 weeks ago. He's now gone back to work full time as chef ( long hours due to staffing issues etc).
I haven't really seen him in the last 2 weeks due to work, a few facetimes here and there but it's like passing ships at night.
Friday I was meant to be going over to his to have a "romantic night in" he rang me at 5 to say he has to work on and will be home about 7ish instead.
I had a drunken phonecall at 7.30pm (his drinking is another thread) and a few drunken texts that didn't make any sense. Tried ringing back but no answer. Clearly didn't have the romantic night in!

He hasn't been on whatsapp since I last spoke to him, his phone is off (i've tried ringing), am I overreacting to thinking something is wrong? I would pop round to his but with his working pattern all over the place it doesn't seem feasible. His family hasn't met me so I'd feel silly asking them.

I completely get your concern but I suspect he is fine and hasn't got the guts to face you. Im sorry OP, he doesn't sound like he's worth bothering about.
His work would've noticed if he'd not turned up and his family and friends would realise he was missing so let them sort it out. I get that you don't want to be left wondering though and he owes you an explanation. You could pop a note through his door but if you get no reply, you will still be none the wiser. Rung his work and if he's working then you'll have your answer.

Has he lost his phone? Does he know where you live? If so, he could make contact with you if he wants to.

If you're still worried that he's ok, just find a way to see if he's at work (without looking like a stalker)!

Update - I posted a note through his door, my number was on there. His mother rang me around midday to say that he was a victim of a hit and run late Friday night and he's currently in hospital. They had no way to contact me to let me know.

If someone blocks you on WhatsApp you can't see their profile pic. So as long as you can see it, not blocked.

His mother is a nurse and was on the fence to access my contact details from work - she knows my name but nothing else about me! Been an emotional Tuesday to say the least!
