It's great isn't it?! Well... it's shit obviously but WOW. Seven months down the line I weigh less than I did in my late 20s, I'm back in skinny jeans and the best part is nobody other than one person on here knows the hell I've been through so I'm getting all the "you look amazing" without the tilted head sympathy. Almost 2 stone gone. Goodbye fat thighs hello knees and fuck me who'd have thought I'd once again have only one chin! Come on guys - how much did you lot lose during this?

Lost 3 stone when I got divorced without even trying.

Met my DP a few months later and gradually piled it all back on plus extra . Need him to dump me if I want to get back to anything like an ok weight.

Me now, can't eat a thing and if I try even one bite I vomit. Im down a dress size in two weeks but no one has noticed :(

Yep. I remember standing in the kitchen at the very beginning trying to chow down a dairylea slice and I could have thrown up. Funnily enough my ability to intake wine has never wavered! Hope you're okay mate. Fuck them x

Last time I was heartbroken I could barely eat for days. The heartbreak went on for ages.

Brilliant silver lining yes - for the misery you have been going through to achieve it though.

When I am miserable I eat, and eat and eat so I don't think it would work for me, but that's beside the point.

Maybe this is nature's way of saying 'new leaf, new you, now shake the dust of the old misery from your shoes and go forth to build something wonderful instead'

Hah I was just pondering on this yesterday! I lost 2 stone as well. I still drank like a fish! How? How is it possible? I mean I hate the heartbreak but the net result is fabulous! I really need to lose my 3 stone of lockdown lard now but it won't shift!

Me me me! Between my separation and a bit of heart pain after stopping seeing a FWB I had developed feelings for, I've lost 5 kg and kept them off. Like you, I am back in skinny jeans, everyone has noticed (I was not overweight before, but now I look bloody hot!), I'm dressing better and this is helping me find my confidence again. Lots of male attention. I still need a bit of emotional work but this is definitely a silver lining!

OP, we're amazing and deserve better than what we had. Let's work on ourselves and choose more wisely next time.

Great for you guys that you have found your silver lining 😊. It’s shit but it does get better (and you will invariably be happier) when you invest in yourself and your friendships.

My BMI went down to 15, I looked and felt revolting — weight loss isn’t always great! Be careful not to become unwell

Oh the divorce diet... I went for a size 14 to a small 10. Managed to keep it off for 3 years too

I feel lost, shocked and bitter every day, but those jeans just keep getting lighter. I reckon there'll be an engagement announced soon as well so that'll be another stone off! Oh well. I was a fat bastard anyway. If we're going to go through life feeling broken we might as well do it looking good lol. For all you saying you're the opposite... When DH was diagnosed I didn't eat for five days. I suddenly fancied a coffee and then realised how long it had been since I ate. It has made me realise that fasting is good for me and is the answer to a lot that ails us as a race.

I lost shedloads through the gin and heartbreak diet a few years ago. A little bit too much as my friends started getting really worried. I just completely lost my appetite and couldn't eat at all (which isn't like me).

Kept most of it off. A definite silver lining.

I was at 58 and now at 48. My low, with anorexia, was 40.8

I'm 4 stone down on a year ago. Back in size 10 stuff from when I was 21. Quite a addictive feeling...

Lost about a stone I think with a breakup a few years ago and was already a healthy weight. I would spend the usual time cooking a healthy meals for me and DC but I would have one mouthful then the stomach churning pain of heartbreak meant I couldn’t face eating anymore. I had no appetite.

I remember that Christmas mum ordering loads of food on the Christmas shop to ‘fatten me up’

I slowly put it back on, mainly after I got into my current relationship.
