51 and have a crush - feel ill

I didn't know whether to post this here or in mental health tbh. I feel completely mad. I cannot stop thinking about an actor who is very young (mid 20s I think). It's horrible I think about him all the time. It all started because my daughter showed me a video (very old - I'm the last person in the world to have seen it) of him dancing in drag. I LOVE a man who can dance, clearly even very young one. OK it was Tom Holland.
I already thought he was lovely looking but hadn't got any further than that.
Now I've had to watch the spideman movies like a teenager and even Cherry (on Apple TV - very depressing). And interviews on Youtube and he's no genius just very professional and endearing.
God when will this pass??????

Haha the second you said dancing in drag - he was my first thought.

I think that video probably could turn a few straight men gay.

I see him in spiderman and just think he is a good actor. And seems like a nice guy.

But that video. Ooft.

It'll pass! I get crushes on actors all the time.

His mate Harrison osterfield was in the irregulars on netflix and ooft, definitely a new celeb crush. He looks like a young james mcavoy.

Think he is like a decade younger than me but meh!

How many fifty odd year old guys date (or want to date) women in their twenties? Loads. So of course older women can fancy younger men too. So long as you don't start stalking him it's all good lol.

Umberellatheweatha · 31/05/2021 12:32

(Though I'd probably not share this crush with other ppl)

...unless you show them that video first. In which case they'll be like 'fair enough' lol.

yourestandingonmyneck · 31/05/2021 12:50

I've just watched the video. It does nothing for me but I have had massive celeb crushes, so I do sympathise!

No advice, you just need to wait for it to pass. It can be very intense though, I really do feel for you.

He really doesn't do it for me at all, although the is surprisingly strong and muscular looking, isn't he? I didn't expect that. Thought he was just a wee lad.

Tim Curry in Rocky Horror however- wowza GrinWink

Onelifeonly · 31/05/2021 12:59

You're not the last person to see the video as I've only just watched it. I see what you mean, very sexy, but can't say he does anything for me otherwise. Too young and boyish looking.

Maybe think how boring and uninteresting he'd be if he wasn't acting??

Or just enjoy it? I like to have a crush on an actor but they do pass....

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 31/05/2021 13:43

This really is funny Grin I'm in love with a 22 year old singer and I'm 59.

I saw him on eurovision (Gjon's Tears). I am a disgusting old woman but I intend to enjoy every second of the fantasy while it lasts.

Hormonalmess · 31/05/2021 13:47

I had a horrible crush on a young man a few years ago. It wasn't someone I knew, just had a vague connection.

I hated it, I felt disgusting but it was overwhelming.

He would have been horrified if he'd ever found out.

I put it down to crazy hormones and suppressed it.

All gone now, thank god.

ZenNudist · 31/05/2021 13:55

You're allowed to have a crush.

I am watching peaky blinders. I've become very interested in articles about Cillian Murphy!

maras2 · 31/05/2021 14:21

I'm 67 and was going to say that I too fancy Tom but just realised that my crush is Tom Hollander Blush
Just relax and enjoy but no stalking cos you'll get into trouble. Smile

Rupertpenrysmistress · 31/05/2021 14:24

tipping enjoy the crush nothing to be ashamed off. I have admired some younger celebs in my time, it will fade. I searched and watched the video of Tom great dancer, but, cannot see how this makes him attractive but each to their own.

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 31/05/2021 14:32

It's nothing to be ashamed of. Older men perv on young female actresses all the time.
Enjoy it while it lasts, just don't go crazy and get a commemorative tattoo or anything Grin.

Many months later I tend to look back at old crushes and the 'WTF' was I thinking?

Holothane · 31/05/2021 14:38

Enjoy your crush I’m so smitten with Eric Roberts at the moment it isn’t true, in another life I’m a character’s wife, I rewrite fanfic spend too much time dreaming, it brightens up many a dull day I can tell you. I’ve even ordered a throw with this character on it, yep dh is used to this 12th Doctor stuff everywhere. So don’t you dare feel guilty enjoy, off to dream

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 31/05/2021 14:42

I've just come to the end of one celeb crush, and am embarking on a new one. Its fun, it stays in my head, so why not?

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 31/05/2021 14:42

The age gap in this one is slightly better than the last one, which helps Wink

EstuaryBird · 31/05/2021 14:49

I’m 66 and it’s not even a celebrity. I have an immense crush on my first boyfriend who was 19 when I broke up with him in 1972. Didn’t think about him for years but now am completely obsessed by him.

Maybe it’s being older and realising that you’re options are now limited 😂

cookiecreampie · 31/05/2021 14:54

Enjoy it, there's no harm in it. It's something to take your mind off the stresses of everyday life. I don't currently have a crush but I've been there and it can feel great. I saw them as a distraction when I was single or in a bad relationship.

greatauntfanny · 31/05/2021 14:55

I've seen that video, I think it's the combination of confidence, skill, sense of humour and muscle tone. I think it just means you're a straight woman Grin He is on the younger side, but he's 24, not 12. There's nothing wrong with you. Women can have an overactive guilt complex about this sort of thing. A man in his fifties wouldn't think twice about finding a 20 something girl attractive, it'd just be a given. Relax. It's just a feeling, you're not stalking him or using your advanced experience to lure him into a relationship. I don't think Grin

Holothane · 31/05/2021 15:08

There are some silver Fox beauties in Hollywood at the moment I’m really enjoying this, I’ve three I fancy varying degrees. All male before anyone ask straight and proud.

I don't think anyone really cares.
Northernlurker · 31/05/2021 15:35

I've checked the video for you op and can confirm you are afflicted by completely normal biological reaction Grin
Carry on

tipping · 31/05/2021 15:40

Thank you for all your messages - you made me smile! This article (of course I've been searching to see if I'm going mad - it's old but good ) made me laugh out loud www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1317405/Youre-NEVER-old-teenage-crush-49.html#comments

@maras2 that's so funny re Tom Hollander - Well they're both british and tiny........

OP posts:
tipping · 31/05/2021 15:43

and @yourestandingonmyneck I shared this video with my friends and we ended up reminiscing about how incredibly sexy we found Tim Curry in TRHS when we were teenagers!! Out of this world sex appeal.

OP posts:
TomEllisfan · 31/05/2021 15:48

Tom Ellis is my crush Smile

Holothane · 31/05/2021 15:56

Well some will come along and say no female crush4s they usually do, no I wasn’t being nasty either.

Holothane · 31/05/2021 16:03

@tipping read the article comical, older men for me though, even as a teen never fancied my favourite bands it was Roger Moore, them Timothy Dalton, just can’t get my head around fancying a singer.

tipping · 31/05/2021 16:10

thank you @Northernlurker that is soooo reassuring!
