A strange one. Name changed.

I was sent a message saying partner on Plenty of fish telling me to check

I looked couldn't find him but his email came up as an active user! He says a woman is setting up accounts in his name with his email. Why would anyone do that?

Says he is not on plenty of fish and not cheating 🙄

Hi Op. I would imagine you would need an access to the email to open an account?

Why any woman would do it?

I would go digging but pretend you believe in what he is saying so he doesn't get suspicious

You could set up an account there too and message him?

VettiyaIruken · 02/04/2021 19:44

Yeah, ok. That's the best he can do?

If the email is his then sit with him as he resets his password on POF so you can log on with him and see what's happening on there.

ThereforeIAm · 02/04/2021 19:45

Who does he say the woman is?

Jobsharenightmare · 02/04/2021 19:47

The reason I can think of that is more credible than revenge for no good reason as he suggests is someone who was messaging him to date then found out about you and wants to warn you / is angry at him.

BrilliantBetty · 02/04/2021 19:48

The account would need to be approved via the email address when setting it up though?

What would this woman's motive be for setting up accounts for him and then letting his partner know? Seems unlikely. More likely he's been rumbled!

AnyFucker · 02/04/2021 19:48

He is full of shit

LonginesPrime · 02/04/2021 19:52

How does he say this woman know his email address?

Have you asked him what other accounts he thinks she set up for him? By referring to multiple accounts, it sounds like he's paving the way for you to find him on some other sites too.

FlyingBurrito · 02/04/2021 19:57

The question isn't why a woman would do that surely it's how unless she has his email password. I don't know anything about POF but every site you join needs you to confirm the email address

LonginesPrime · 02/04/2021 19:59

Have you googled the number you received the message from?

ScottChegg · 02/04/2021 20:06

He thinks your head zips up the back.

Wanderlusto · 02/04/2021 20:13

That's a good point about the email address. He would have had to verify that it was the correct email in order to finish the set up.

However I'm not sure if it creates the profile anyway but just tells users your profile isn't verified yet.

But who is this woman that she would have cause to pull this shit? Much more likely he is lying.

How does he treat you in general?

mineofuselessinformation · 02/04/2021 20:20

So if it's not him he won't have any trouble letting you see his email account, will he?

Tt101 · 02/04/2021 20:30

He thinks you are a fool. How does this woman have his email and his password?

youvegottenminuteslynn · 02/04/2021 20:32

So he's claiming a woman used his email address to sign up to a dating site / app and hacked into that email account to verify the dating account? Sure they did...

CornishTiger · 02/04/2021 20:43

Nope crazy ex is less likely than him cheating. Sorry.

Magnificentmug12 · 02/04/2021 20:49

That’s funny, bless him, it’s laughable when he tries.

Your not a mug.

SandyY2K · 02/04/2021 20:55

He's lying.

MusicWithRocksIn1t · 02/04/2021 20:59

@VettiyaIruken

Yeah, ok. That's the best he can do?

If the email is his then sit with him as he resets his password on POF so you can log on with him and see what's happening on there.

This^
Holyhonestyjj · 02/04/2021 21:01

Surely he needs access to his email to actually verify the sign up for the account! But who did you get the message off and what did it say OP? X

WatieKatie · 02/04/2021 21:31

Who does he suggest this woman is? How does he know it’s her?

I agree with PP, reset the password and together look through the account. That should reveal the truth.

Tangledtresses · 02/04/2021 21:34

My ex said that too... turns out he was a lying cheating idiot

Seadad · 02/04/2021 23:02

That is nonsense OP and you must know it. Why would any woman do that unless she was heavily involved with him and looking for some kind of revenge? He's chosen the wrong yarn to spin!

Mermaidwaves · 02/04/2021 23:28

You also need to be sent a pin code via your mobile when you create a POF account otherwise it won't be verified, they call it a double security or something like that. I know because I had trouble with my mobile number, so this woman would have needed the pin sent to his mobile phone...... he's lying!!

Longdistance · 02/04/2021 23:32

He’s full of shit. Sorry.

ClareBlue · 02/04/2021 23:55

If, and it's a big if, a women was doing this she would have to have access to his email account login to verify the email address. This would mean she had access to all his emails.
So either he is accepting that another women has access to all his emails and has not stopped her by changing the password, which means there is either another women so invested in him she feels she needs to do this and he is ok with her seeing his emails, or,

He is lying
