I am not an online dating novice but I've only recently rejoined after a 5 month break. I've been messaging someone for about 10 days and he seems nice and normal (well, as much as you can possibly tell at this stage) but today he has said something that's really turned me off! He was just telling me about his day and that for dinner he is eating the rest of a casserole he made last night but it has too many onions in 'so it might get a bit windy' 😳 I mean, really?! It's actually made me feel a bit sick. That's done it for me, a switch has flicked in my head and I don't want to speak to him anymore! Shall I just block him?

I fart frequently in front of my chap but wouldn’t have dreamed of it before we were familiar and intimate, and fart/poo jokes/discussions/noises wouldn’t have wooed me at the beginning. I find farts funny but not sexy. 10 days in, you’re in the realms of sexy.

Obviously people get that. It's just a matter of time and place. Unless you actively find farting sexy, talking about your windy arse isn't the stuff of seduction, is it? Anyway, he did previously message the OP about Gaviscon so he is clearly not bothered about whether his rancid bowels are a suitable topic for flirtatious conversation.

I just think if you're trying to get a date with someone, making a joke about your own windy bottom ten days' in is not the best way to go about it (nor is it good manners for that matter!). I was trying to form a picture of him based on a few photos and the things he was saying. Him breaking wind and laughing about it is not a picture I wanted to have in my mind 🤦🏼‍♀️
