Worried partner is on Facebook dating

Hi, I noticed that my partner has Facebook dating in his shortcut bar across the top of his page. It has the home button then marketplace, then fb dating, then notifications. I clicked on it when he was out of the room and it asked if he was ready to get started but I'm worried he is using dating sites and that's why fb put it up there? Has anyone had this come up in their bar and they're not using any form of OLD? I don't mean in the page where you can get to everything, I mean the bar that runs across the top of the homescrern on android and the bottom on iPhone. Thanks

I've had it put onto my shortcut, I don't use it!!! I removed it and it came back 😡

Really? oh god, I can't tell you the relief! And you're not using any other form of old? Thsnkyou for replying, I've had such a sleepless night.

On a side note it's really bad of FB to do that, this must cause couples some issues at times.

How do you remove them from there? I'd love to get rid of watch from mine!

Go in to settings and scroll down. Somewhere in there is the option of changing what you have at the bottom of the page.

I have seen this posted before, and the replies were all quite similar.. that it was on their Facebook bar too but they have never used it!

I'm sure if it said are you ready to get started, then that means it hasn't been used.

Facebook is frequently shoving this in my face at the moment, trying to push it, (and I don't use dating sites).

If it asked if he was ready to get started, then he hasn't set it up.

Just checked - It's on my shortcuts too! Never used it! Just another way of these companies trying to force you into using it.

I clicked on this by accident the other day to, I guess it’s because I don’t have a relationship status set. Really annoying.

Thanks everyone, I have it in the background but as it is on his shortcut bar at the top I assumed it must mean he had used it or generally used a dating site. Thanks for confirming for me

I had it added to my Facebook too, uninvited. Didn't even realise it was there until I saw a thread on here about it.

I haven't heard of this but this is so bad! I don't have FB but my DH does and if I'd noticed that I would have been the same as you. Bet this causes a lot of unnecessary worry!!

I posted the thread about this last month. Someone who uses Facebook dating said that when it's being used it's red so if you clicked it and it said let's get started he wouldn't be using it. I also ended up snooping on my bf Facebook and found nothing so I wouldn't worry. It's not great that Facebook is trying to advertise its dating app like this.

I’ve never done OLD and have had it show up on mine. I even removed the shortcut a couple of times and it popped back up. They were very persistent with it when they first added it!

What I would say though is that you need to question why you don't trust him if the first thing you've thought is that he's cheating or planning to.

@PogoTheClown Not where yours shows, his is actually in the bar you have at the bottom. Is everyone else's in that bar?

@TheFormidableMrsC I do trust him, but I'm not naive enough to not think that anyone is capable of cheating, no matter how perfect we think they are. Most people are shocked when it's done to them, so when I saw this it did freak me out

I hear you! I'm an ex wife now because of cheating but I was just wondering why it was your first thought. In answer to your other question, it was a heart on the bar at the bottom and I hadn't noticed it before so clicked it, it asked me if I wanted to set up or words to that effect. I didn't want to set it up because I'm a confirmed man hater so I removed it Smile
