Partner getting a tongue piercing

So my DP and I are thinking about one or both of us getting a tongue piercing (when lockdown lifts ofc)I know the ermm Hmm benefits of one downstairs.
But my worry is what about french kissing with one?people with experience please tell me does it ruin a kiss or get in the way?
I have looked them up but no answer to this specific question.

French kissing will be fine, of course your partner will likely feel it, but not always... but It won't get in the way.
Oral won't make a scrap of difference, might even get in the way.

What isn't fun is eating and biting the bar, the damage it will do to your teeth and gums.

The few days/week after piercing and the of bleeding tounge, swellibg risk of infection and being on a liquid/soft diet.

I had one for over 10 years. I took it out when the dentist recommended as it did irreversible damage to my teeth and gums.

Had one when I was younger for about 12 years. Took it out about 5 years ago. Didn't get in the way of anything and dh liked it during oral, occasionally remembers it fondly!

I had it pierced while I was at uni so mainly used alcohol to keep it clean and numb during the healing period! Healed very quickly and very well.

It’s fine once it settles down - my tongue was swollen for about 2 weeks and I do have a distinct memory of snogging a bloke when I’d only just had it done and it being a bit slobbery!

My OH has had his done for 8 years I think and never had a problem with french kissing. Really good on the nipples too js 😉

Though making a difference to oral is our main reason for getting one.

@lovecraftcounty personally I would say yes. It will take some getting used to with speech eating etc but once you get over that it'll be great

Ive got two tongue piercings. Never got in the way, i have got stuck in a spatula if i lick it though🤣

No it doesn't. I've heard that vch piercings are more effective for what you want though.

DP's occasionally just taps my teeth but that's because the bar length on the one he's wearing at the moment is quite long. When the piercers open again he's going to get a shorter one.

Also just to note that when I say 'occasional' I really mean it, maybe 3 times in a year.

It's worth it though. Please note that vibrating tongue bars are a thing GrinBlush

Do has his tongue pierced and its what got me hooked on his kisses after we met and drunkenly had a kiss.

Never really noticed it doing anything special for oral though.

@lovecraftcounty In my opinion as a Woman with a pierced-tongue partner, yes. vibrating bars are worth it even for relatively occasional use. Obviously can't confirm what the effect is the other way around.

I used to have a tongue piercing and I've had oral from someone with a tongue piercing. Makes no difference to oral and really quite odd you are getting it for that reason. Why would a little ball on your tongue make a huge difference to oral sex???

You having yours pierced will make a difference for him with oral. Him having his done will make no difference to you really. Second what PP said. If you want something that will make a difference to you it's a VCH. They hurt less than having your tongue done and heal a lot quicker. After my tongue piercing I couldn't eat solids for a week, had a lisp for over a month and damn near choked myself eating spaghetti. I've had it 20 years though so obviously got used to it.
