Social media stalking?

Hi, it's my first post here so be kind!! Lol. Also still learning all the abbreviations so go easy on me with your replies 😂

Basically I'm just wondering how much interest your partners / SO's take in your social media posts - whether this be what you share, pictures, statuses, just in general?
For example - how many likes you get, how often you post, who likes your things, who follows you etc.

Just read the whole thread - you are doing exactly the right thing and I'm sending you very best wishes for the next few days and the months and years to come! Your children will have a brighter future to look forward to because of it Flowers

alm23x · 18/11/2020 12:44

Thank you so much everyone, you're all the cheerleaders I've needed in my life for years! I'm fully packed now clothes wise, got two hours til school pick up to try find paperwork I need to take. Got a box of tinned and jar food and loo rolls, tea towels bin bags, a plate each for us..that kinda thing for when we get a house and have nothing at first. Called the doctor's and have got some antidepressants waiting for me to go and pick up as I've had some panic attacks. Hoping to find th paperwork quick so that I have time to sit and apply for UC before pick up too

My husband takes absolutely no interest or notice.

alm23x · 18/11/2020 12:59

I can't find the full size version of my birth certificate, only the a5 smaller version that comes with it. Will that be enough do you think? Have got both of my kids full certs though

I have no useful words or advice but just wanted to say that you are being so brave and strong right now. You can do this.

Eckhart · 18/11/2020 13:06

You can get a new birth certificate if you need one

www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate

so don't worry too much if you can't find it.

By leaving the house, you've given yourself time to sort stuff like that out. There's no rush now, apart from your own pressure on yourself because you don't feel it's idea living with your Mum and FIL. The only thing you needed to do right away was leave, and that's sorted.

amihavinganervousbreakdown · 18/11/2020 13:06

Just wanted to let you know I'm also wishing you all the best. You're doing the right thing.

BlueThistles · 18/11/2020 13:09

you are amazing OP 🌺

alm23x · 18/11/2020 13:22

Thank you all so much. I've just called an estate agents and got a viewing on a house on Friday..she says she thinks it will be too small for what I need but I need to keep my options open. All packed and sorted now. Just got to apply for UC

You're on fire, Alm23x!

whatsbinhappnin · 18/11/2020 13:51

You are indeed on fire ! WOW!

alm23x · 18/11/2020 14:26

Every time I stop, I get filled with anxiety and panic so I've kept busy. UC is a nightmare to apply for! Done the basics and then il call tomorrow

OP posts:
Tulip55 · 18/11/2020 14:41

You are doing so well. Keep going x

whatsbinhappnin · 18/11/2020 16:09

Keeping busy is good, but don't panic about getting absolutely everything done today.

Get what you need, do the basics and then cut yourself some slack. And be prepared to completely crash tonight- it will be overwhelming, but worth it. You're doing amazingly.

What time are you being picked up?

alm23x · 18/11/2020 16:17

6pm x

@alm23x

He told me that he told our mutual couple friends that we were going through a bad patch and apparently they said they see it from both sides & they've noticed I do things that provoke/don't help situations....he said he didn't ask them for specific examples of what I do....and said it's best I don't ask the friends as it will just make things awkward....it's played on my mind ever since he said it...I mean, if I'm doing things that aren't helping - I want to know! Would you ask her and risk making things awkward / putting her on the spot? Part of me thinks he made it up?
He absolutely made this up. Anytime someone says, “But don’t ask them as it will be awkward,” I’m immediately suspicious. My DH has never said that to me about someone (I mean, unless he’s sharing a problem one of his male friends is having and asks for my advice but even then, he doesn’t phrase is that way, more like, “Could you not mention to them that I’ve told you?” And it’s NEVER been something he’s gaslighting me about, because your husband is definitely gaslighting you here).

Also, another one whose DH doesn’t care a whit about my social media. I do some landscape photography, so I’ll occasionally get likes from random male landscape photographers, and he couldn’t care less. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. It’s not normal at all, and it’s such a stressful way to live. I really do hope you find some way away from his control and jealousy.

BlueThistles · 18/11/2020 18:29

I hope you're away OP 🌺

alm23x · 18/11/2020 20:43

Laid on a double airbed in my mum's living room cuddling the snoring kids. I can't believe I'm here!

amihavinganervousbreakdown · 18/11/2020 20:46

Amazing! Well done. Tonight is the start of your new life!

Honeyroar · 18/11/2020 20:50

You’re safe. Congratulations on the first night of your new future where you call your own shots. He’s going to try and make you wobble and come back - stay strong, he can’t touch you.

alm23x · 18/11/2020 20:55

He's due home about 2:30pm tomorrow so that's when he will find out we've left. I'm really dreading it to be honest and fully expect him to turn up here and kick off. I hope he doesn't make a scene Infront of the kids. Haven't told the children yet - I think I'm going to tell them tomorow. DD(7) definitely knows something's up because no way do you take 3 suitcases, black bags, toys, to go stay at Nanny's for a night and she's old enough to see that something must not be right. X
