Do what you want but to all the posters saying it makes you cleaner/more hygienic to be waxed...it doesn't. In fact it's less hygienic technically as the function of pubic hair is to act as a barrier to bacteria. I actually couldn't give a fig whether people wax or go au naturel (I've done both) but it does annoy me when people inaccurately claim it's more hygienic as I think it can shame some women into doing it, who actually would rather not, when it's wholly unnecessary. It is an aesthetic choice and that is all.

GilbertMarkham · 03/10/2020 18:44

No doubt there are lots of men who want a woman to remove all hair from her pubis, vulva (and ass I suppose fir many women) because they like to see all of the area clearly, because it's common in porn, because it's nicer for performing oral sex, on, because the woman should have better sensation etc etc. And no doubt many women do it because they want them to, and because they also think they get better sensation etc.

But to me a reduced triangle achieves that without the bald, hairless, child look - which I find somewhat unnerving on an adult. To each their own.

GilbertMarkham · 03/10/2020 18:46

saves a lot of effort when it comes to going swimming

You can get that from any bikini line hair removal, for the sake of argument. Doesn't have to be bald/Hollywood.

LiveFromHome · 03/10/2020 18:51

In zoomed in photos of a vulva with no perspective, how would you .. just for the sake of argument

@GilbertMarkham The shape, size and colour of an adult female vulva, even taking into account the difference from one adult woman to the next, would be completely different from those of a child - it would immediately noticeable whether it is the vulva of an adult or a child.

I'm not going into this any further because quite frankly you sound like a bit of a creepy perve that wants to get into a in depth chat about children's genitals.

user1481840227 · 03/10/2020 18:52

@GilbertMarkham

#But the lazy argument often trotted out is that by getting rid of pubic hair women want their vaginas to look like little girls vaginas and that men like it for that reason too.

It makes no sense at all!*

The "sense" is that children's genitals have no hair while sexually mature people's genitals always have hair.

You can't quote part of my argument and leave out all of my explanation for why it doesn't make sense Grin.
StarlightLady · 03/10/2020 18:53

The ancient Greeks and ancient Romans practised hair removal, it’s nothing new. Nor do l remove my hair for the benefit of anyone else. My body, my choice. Equally, people can choose not to.

The OP asked a question and for advice, not for a lecture.

Zaphodsotherhead · 03/10/2020 18:55

XP always wanted me bald. Because his only experience of sex came from porn and he wanted me to look like they did in the films.

I take it off round the edges but drew the line at being completely bald, only because it felt weird.

Each to their own, I'd say, but would raise eyebrows at anyone who only denudes because that's what 'their man' prefers.

@GilbertMarkham This is a random aside, but I got some sort of swim shorts. So less effort needed.

user1481840227 · 03/10/2020 18:56

Back to the OP if you do decide to do it then be careful with things like squeezy cream as someone mentioned....although of course the same would apply even if you kept your pubic hair.

The sugar in the cream could upset the PH balance of the vagina!

GilbertMarkham · 03/10/2020 18:59

I've already covered size by saying it's zoomed in and there'd no perspective.

What do you base the shape and colour assumptions on ... Are you a medical professional in this area, or an images of child sex abuse investigator?

LiveFromHome · 03/10/2020 19:00

Are you a medical professional in this area,

Yes I am, and zoomed in or not, everyone would be able to tell. And like I've already covered, I'm not discussing this any further with you. You are creepy.

GilbertMarkham · 03/10/2020 19:03

Catch a grip.

I'm responding to the strong assertion in here that an adult woman's vulva could always be easily distinguished from a female child's (bearing in mind what age range child covers) because it's glossing over things.

LiveFromHome · 03/10/2020 19:03

Uh huh. Ok then.

GilbertMarkham · 03/10/2020 19:04

Rubbish.

And you come across and incredibly immature. Name calling and playing the "you're s creepy paedo" card because you've been called out.

SoulofanAggron · 03/10/2020 19:04

@StarlightLady Our choices don't exist in a vacuum, so your choice is based on the social climate in some respect, otherwise you would never have thought of the idea of shaving. Also, it's not as easy as saying people can choose not to do beauty mandates/the sexual corvee.

For instance, if you openly walk around with hairy legs, people can get a lot of hassle or at least weird looks. I had one bloke criticise me for being too hairy. I wouldn't feel able to wear a knee length skirt and have hairy legs out when it's warm, which is a real shame. Or to have hairy legs at the swimming pool. Or not to shave my hairy mustache/chin. Etc etc.

There has been quite a bit of pressure from several lovers to get rid of all my pubic hair, which I gave into. Never again. It is coercion. I'm not saying that's to the same extent for every act and person, but some of it is. Most women find some of the things they feel they have to do to look presentable a chore. And more is asked of women than men.

JenniferSantoro · 03/10/2020 19:06

I’d be more worried about why he want you to appear like a pre pubescent child.

GilbertMarkham · 03/10/2020 19:07

creepy perve

You are creepy

Uh huh. Ok then.

You're a medical professional?

You sound like a (particularly foolish) teenager.

1forAll74 · 03/10/2020 19:11

Why is it called a Hollywood wax, and not a Wigan , Skegness or Blackpool wax etc.!!

For swimming I wear boyleg suits or shorts. Not just for the hair but cos I like the look and feel.
SoulofanAggron · 03/10/2020 19:50

I think I need a burkini though, as I CBA shaving my legs, either. Damn patriarchy.

No one looks at legs or anyone else tbh. To busy worrying about themselves.

But as an adult it is my preference to have a Hollywood wax. It makes me feel like I’ve made an effort and dressed up (even at times when nobody else sees it), I feel it boosts my confidence more than having my nails or hair done for some reason.

UserABCDE12345 · 04/10/2020 00:20

Rimming is better after waxing.

MiddleEasternMummy · 04/10/2020 00:50

It does hurt but the pain last seconds and is well worth it . Feels so clean . You'll probably love it more than your partner ... however strongly discourage that you let him do it !! Go to a beautician (best to be safe than sorry )

Windmillwhirl · 04/10/2020 05:43

I use the cream myself. It works a treat.

Re the why he wants you to do it, op ....nobody likes finding hair in their food. Just sayin'
