He added vodka to my beer

Just hoping for some opinions to how annoyed you would be about this. I can't work out how I feel about it.

Last night me and DH had a 'games night' in the kitchen with a few drinks.
Just to set the background - we never get any time together on our own really and having a young family etc our sex life has declined recently.
So, we made a point for last night after we had put DC to bed to have one of our games night for fun and to relax.

I had a few cans of beer and DH was drinking vodka. Later on, I went to the toilet and came back, had a swig of my lager and was like 'ew' that tastes wrong, it tastes like vodka!'

DH just looked at me with a puzzled look while I was trying to work out why it tasted wrong. I then asked him a few times, 'did you put vodka in my drink?' and he said no. I then asked him to taste it, and he shrugged and said 'just tastes like warm beer to me'

I went on about it a bit more and asked a couple more times before he finally did a little laugh and fessed up it was him. He said at one point ''I didn't put that much in, didn't think you would notice''

So, how would you feel about this, angry or just a childish prank?

Thanks

Childish prank. But should of admitted it sooner

Imissmoominmama · 27/09/2020 14:42

A very stupid thing to do. I’d be really annoyed.

sadie9 · 27/09/2020 14:47

I'd be having words with him this morning to ask him why he did that. What was his intention? I'd be furious that someone was fucking around with me for his own entertainment. Its not like putting salt in the sugar bowl. Why do it if he thought you wouldn't notice?? He wanted you not to notice you were taking in more alcohol than you thought.

VodkaShotToTheHeart · 27/09/2020 14:47

Sorry there was paragraphs when I wrote it out!

It might have been a childish prank in the 80s but I thought we'd evolved since then and now considered spiking someone's drink to be completely unacceptable behaviour.

Palavah · 27/09/2020 14:49

I'd be really annoyed. I'd ask him why he did it, and would he be ok if someone did that to his daughter?

pinkyredrose · 27/09/2020 14:50

Has he said why he did it?

LizB62A · 27/09/2020 14:50

He basically spiked your drink to get you drunker than you planned to be.
Would it be a prank if a stranger did that to your drink in a pub ? No.

eandz13 · 27/09/2020 14:51

Why though? I'm not often a misery guys, but I also wonder what his intentions were. To get you drunker? Again, why though? Confused

eandz13 · 27/09/2020 14:52

Misery guts that was meant to say!

VodkaShotToTheHeart · 27/09/2020 14:53

*He wanted you not to notice you were taking in more alcohol than you thought.

Well, exactly that's what I think which is why I feel a little discombobulated.

Well he said it was 'a joke' etc but I think he wanted to get me more tipsy Confused

I once put vodka in my exes cup of tea when he was annoying me

VodkaShotToTheHeart · 27/09/2020 14:55

Sorry name change fail but it doesn't matter.

Killpopp · 27/09/2020 14:58

I put all sorts in my husbands drink when he’s not looking. We are quite childish though! This would t have bothered me as I trust and love my husband. Do you not trust yours?

VimFuego101 · 27/09/2020 15:00

You mention your sex life, so did he add the vodka with the hope of getting you drunk and having sex with you? Or just a stupid spur of the moment prank without any intent?

Dontbeme · 27/09/2020 15:03

But I also wonder what his intentions were. To get you drunker? Again, why though?

The answer to that in right in the OP

having a young family etc our sex life has declined recently

He thought he would help his chances by spiking the OP drink, and before anyone screams at me for man hating what other reason would he have, to give OP a hangover, to make her ill, give her a headache the following morning? I would be seriously pissed of at this OP, it would make me look at him in a different light.

ToastedEnglishMuffin · 27/09/2020 15:25

So, how would you feel about this, angry or just a childish prank?

Depends why he did it. Motivation is the entire thing in this case scenario for me.

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 27/09/2020 15:27

I'd be really creeped out by this. Not just spiking the drink, but also the lies about it.
I'm not saying this is a LTB moment, but it certainly warrants some strong words.

GreyishDays · 27/09/2020 15:29

I’d be really, really unimpressed and would lose my trust in him.

boredinthouse · 27/09/2020 15:29

I'd wonder what his intentions were really and I'd be really angry either way.

burglarbettybaby · 27/09/2020 15:32

I agree it was a way to get you drunk so you would relax and have sex with him. I would be having huge words with him. You know him best but its not on.

VodkaShotToTheHeart · 27/09/2020 16:11

Thanks for the opinions. Food for thought.

OP posts:
Sakurami · 27/09/2020 16:13

It's clear he wanted you drunk and more likely to want sex. Vile. My ex did that

newnameforthis123 · 27/09/2020 16:20

Weird and creepy at best, predatory and entitled at worst. Neither are great to be honest.

rorosemary · 27/09/2020 16:30

Yeah, I'd have a massive problem with that. It's the same as drugging someone for their own pleasure.
