Hand over baby to hubby literally the minute he walks through the door from a 14 hour day? Recently went to a mums coffee morning and one of the mums is expecting her second dc and she said as with the first the minute hubby gets home she's going to hand over baby to him.. Just curious to know if any other mums did this..

I know Lobster, I'm a single working mum now and the minute I pick up DD from nursery I can't wait to see her and hold her x

Hmmm... my husband missed DC so would come in wash hands/change then go play/feed baby while I cooked dinner or just had a break.

When tiny I went to bed 8/9pm while he kept baby (With expressed milk) until he was ready for bed.

He still takes DC in the morn before work if he wakes first.

With my first, no, as I had the old fashioned idea that "he'd been at work all day". He did used to cook dinner though!

However when I went back to work and he took annual leave for a couple of weeks so baby didn't have to go straight to nursery, he used to dump baby on me literally the second I got home, before I'd even taken my coat off.

I remembered that when we had our next baby, ha!

Yep, normally after he had showered and grabbed a cuppa he'd want to anyway. I recall him mentioning that he wanted to start meditating for an hour after a shower and I just said no, seriously, meditate when they're in bed!

And there were differences with first and second baby due to their different temperaments. First was very chilled and nobody needed to "take over", we could both relax with her there. My second would scream and needed to be held a lot more.

Ha! Mine WORKED don’t you know. He needed a break. All the time.

He would’ve had a (passive aggressive) fit if I’d done that.

I developed major PND, obviously.

I never did this ever. Also never expected him to do a night feed.
