Are you up to phoning his Mum, and tell her her the flat isn't fit to stay in, and offer to book her into a hotel/Airbnb? Presumably she knows that you've been ill, and that you are looking after 2 small children and so aren't able to do DIY - if not, tell her how poorly you've been. Spell it out. She'll probably suggest that the visit is put off until you are up to hosting.If not, you'll need to tell her that much as you'd like to see them etc you can't host and in fact you are going to your Mums to be looked after.

You can report the passports as stolen/lost and get new ones.
Birth certificates are also easily replaceable.
The important things are financial documents.
I expect he keeps all his payslips, pension and tax information at work too?
I think you have to find what you can and take the DC to your mum's. Then see a solicitor. It sounds as if he has already checked out and is leading a separate life.

I have a working diagnosis of chronic gastritis. I finally got an iron infusion but I need two more as I’m so anaemic and my consultant wants me to have a colonoscopy to see if there’s anything that would cause bleeding. So my marriage has gone to shit and now I have to lie naked in a room full of people with a camera up my arse. I’m thoroughly pissed off.

On the plus side I’m at my mums house while dh and grandparents are looking after the boys. She’s been making me eggy bread and Lucozade (have they changed it? not as nice as I remember) and I’m in my bed that has my 30 year old My Little Pony sheets on. So that’s nice at least. Dh hasn’t called either me or my mum to find out how I am or when I’ll be back.

I know it’s different for everyone but I recently left my ex and honestly now it’s done I feel so fucking relieved! Yours sounds like a grade A twat.
(My DSis had the arse camera recently, she said she was pretty knocked out so it was fine, but she did see the screen and saw much more of herself than she ever wished to! So maybe make sure you don’t look )

It's played merry hell with diabetics who use Lucozade for hypos and gestational diabetes tests.
