Fifty and absolutely no sex drive

Just that really, I've tried ignoring it, knowing the menapause and all that. Expect I have no other symptoms, no hot flashes, no mood swings, just an absolute non feeling for sex. No desire for my OH even though he is gorgeous, no kids around ,they are late teens, on there way out. I just feel nothing, and I hate it. I have always loved sex, intamacy, feeling desirable but now this last year it leaves me cold. Not even turned on when we have sex, just go through the motions to keep normal. Am I the only one? What on earth has happened to me? I'm so sad about it.

Well, I have never heard of the cinnamon hypothesis, but I googled medical research and found this
www.researchgate.net/publication/326543912_Comparing_the_effect_of_rose_drop_ginger_and_cinnamon_on_sexual_function_in_depressed_women_with_sexual_dysfunction

You can download the abstract and order the whole paper if you like. Ginger and cinnamon supplements were found to have a positive effect on depression and sex drive in women, compared with the placebo group. What have you got to lose? Be careful to avoid the cheaper versions of cinnamon, however, because they contain high levels of a compound that can harm the liver.

I'm sorry that you're depressed. I hope you get good help for your health and good for you for pushing on.

Yes, it has to be the real Ceylon cinnamon, not the cheap Chinese type which is not the same and toxic in larger quantities

This issue has cost me my marriage as I have no desire to ever have sex again. My GP won’t prescribe HRT because I had a DCIS and family history of breast cancer. I’m not even 60 and will never be in a loving relationship ever again.

It will be the drop in your hormones. I'm on HRT and it changed my life!

@user1471538283 may I ask what you are taking?
