Just wondering if other people think I am overreacting. So the other day I posted one of those light hearted games on FB.. you put a pic up of yourself and then write 'If my name wasn't my name what name would I look like" A few friends reply with lovely names but then my father-in-law replies with this...

Chlamydia 😷😂👍

Gobsmacked I deleted status, but it upset and angered me as it is not a funny joke

Your thoughts please? Thank you xx

I would have laughed 🤷‍♀️

If you post stuff like that on facebook you should be prepared for a bit of a roasting imo.

Soontobe60 · 06/04/2020 19:21

Hahaha! Your Fil has a sense of humour.

A lighthearted response is one thing. I don't think that was lighthearted and I would have been very upset as well OP.

Ginger1982 · 06/04/2020 19:22

Is he known for that kind of humour?

anotherdisaster · 06/04/2020 19:24

If a friend had commented this who you have that sort of sense of humour with then yes it may be funny. But he's your FIL which makes it weird and creepy.

Smumto2 · 06/04/2020 19:33

There is a roasting and then there is disrespect. I don't find being called a S.T.D funny and I have a great sense of humour. Esp over facebook were everyone can see

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 06/04/2020 19:37

Clearly you and your FIL have a very different sense of humour.

Just restrict or block him on facebook and there wont be a problem again.

WickedlyPetite · 06/04/2020 19:39

I must have a strange sense of humour because I don't see what's funny?

Perhaps the first couple of posters who laughed can explain what's funny about it.

Aquamarine1029 · 06/04/2020 19:40

I have a great sense of humour, but this isn't funny. It's very disrespectful and fucking creepy coming from your FIL. Did you show this to your husband?

Pentium85 · 06/04/2020 19:43

Why are you asking for opinions when quite clearly you think your view is right and that it isn't funny?

Whether we think it's funny or not doesn't matter.

Windyatthebeach · 06/04/2020 19:45

Just make one up and send it back.
What is his first initial?
Harry Hairy - Bollock?

Smumto2 · 06/04/2020 19:56

Husband wasn't impressed and told him so and apologised to him but not me. Pentium 85.. this is what this site is for to ask other people's opinions. There isn't a right or wrong in this. I just wanted to see if there was anyone who would reacted the same way as myself. Maybe I am oversensitive but it made me cry

Seriously, stop playing juvenile games if you can’t take juvenile answers.

Smumto2 · 06/04/2020 20:12

Juvenile games????

Cynara · 06/04/2020 20:16

To be honest, I think this is about the right level for Facebook. I can't see the logic of posting something like that and then getting upset by the responses.

Roussette · 06/04/2020 20:24

I would find it hilarious

Crafting1Queen · 06/04/2020 20:32

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.

Livpool · 06/04/2020 20:33

It wouldn't bother me - I'd laugh it off

Itsallgonewoowoo · 06/04/2020 20:41

I wouldn't find it funny, but neither would it offend me, and certainly crying over it seems extreme. Perhaps avoid those kind of status posts that prompt people to comment on you personally if you get upset so easily.

ReturnofSaturn · 06/04/2020 21:02

I laughed. Sorry OP. Grin

EverythingChanges321 · 06/04/2020 21:09

Facebook is full of shit so I think he was responding in the same vein. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gobbycop · 06/04/2020 21:16

I laughed, shame on me.

I'm immature.

Morgan12 · 06/04/2020 21:22

Ffs get a grip.

SandyY2K · 06/04/2020 21:33

I don't find it funny in the least. I'm glad your DH had your back.
