It's weird at the moment that's for sure. There was always that contingent on here but CV with all its associated righteous zealotry. seems to have made them take the gloves off and show themselves without restraint. I hope some people will look back and cringe themselves inside out when things calm down. I anticipate a flurry of name changes.

asmuchuseas · 27/03/2020 20:00

Post away. Not everyone here is harsh. You'll get some good advice I'm sure

2manybloodypets · 27/03/2020 20:19

Thank you to the sweetest people who have answered: xxxx

I wasn't sure if it was-all about the virus. Me trying to kill myself seems so insignificant

MN is no different to real life really
Some really lovely amazing people.

And a significant number of complete and utter fucking twats....

Some sub forums have more of the former and some more of the latter

asmuchuseas · 27/03/2020 21:16

@2manybloodypets if you're feeling like you are please talk to us.

CheekyFuckerHQ · 27/03/2020 21:23

@2manybloodypets I love your username. It would be quite fitting for me too!

What going on with you? What did you join to talk about? We’re here listening 🙂

MonkeyDishwasher · 27/03/2020 22:35

@2manybloodypets You trying to kill yourself will be always be significant to someone (probably many people!), trust me on that. I've been where you are. Hell, I AM where you are. You are not alone, even though I know it can feel like it.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 28/03/2020 10:56

Hello there @2manybloodypets we're so sorry to hear you're feeling so low - it's so tough for so many of us at the moment but we hope you start to feel brighter very soon.

You might find some useful info on our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

Windyatthebeach · 28/03/2020 11:07

Would you like to talk about your pets op? We are trying to enjoy /manage a new dpuppy after losing our oldest ddog (got dpuppy before all of this madness) - hard to socialise right now obviously...

2manybloodypets · 28/03/2020 11:48

Thank you all for your replies, it’s so very kind of you. I’m finding life harder and harder but I will keep going. I have reached out to MH services and hopefully I can get some help.
Please know that all of you that have responded have really helped to make me feel less alone 💕

That’s brilliant, having the opportunity to share your troubles with people who can help is a great step.

Brahms3rdracket · 28/03/2020 15:16

Not everyone wants to stomp in with their "straight talking". Some of us value kindness. Let's keep it going here and talk about all our pets Brew

WolfOfOdin · 28/03/2020 15:37

Hope you're ok OP

dramalessllama · 28/03/2020 16:14

I would LOVE to hear all about your pets!! Everyone's!

I have 5 cats who found me (never being a "cat person" before, per se) and their individual personalities are so adorable...and frustrating at times. :)

My husband and I have a deal that any future pets, whatever form they may be, will find us, and that will be our "sign" to care for them until the end of their days. I'm sure all of the lonely animals all over the world have a 6th sense and will seek us out in short order. lol

I've stocked up on my kitties' favorite food, 3 months worth at least. As for me? Frozen dinners are now my go to.

2manybloodypets: Your pets love you and depend on you, and WE need you, so please hang on. Just make it through the next hour. And then the next. Rinse and repeat.

Sending many virtual hugs and purrs from the US.

CheekyFuckerHQ · 28/03/2020 16:16

@Brahms3rdracket
Ok, I’ll start the pet list!
I share my house with a border collie, an Irish wolfhound and a Chorkie and I have a couple if horses too.
How about everyone else?

CheekyFuckerHQ · 28/03/2020 16:19

@dramalessllama I cross posted with you 🙂

It sounds like you are well prepared 😻

izzywizzygood · 28/03/2020 16:46

Hope you're ok OP.
Yes, many don't seem very sympathetic here. However, I hope you can get some connection with the nicer users, and supportive comments.
Take care and please take it easy on yourself. I appreciate that on top of everything else, it must be even tougher in this coronavirus period of isolating. x

pog100 · 28/03/2020 16:51

In my experience situations like yours bring out the very best in Mumsnet, so don't be afraid, people genuinely care.

dramalessllama · 28/03/2020 16:56

Hi CheekyFucker!! (I love your username!!)

Am I right that a Chorkie is a Chihuahua and a Yorkie??

Long or short haired?

I cannot wait until I can have a dog again! With 5 cats, it will need to be a puppy so as to acclimate being dominated by 5 all female felines. lol It will also have to be a rescue of some sort. I'm hoping for a bully breed, but will love anything that needs a home.

Windyatthebeach · 28/03/2020 16:56

I recently had a ddog pts. Never quite appreciated how much she supported me both mentally and emotionally.. Take comfort in your dpets and the love you share op.
Here is our new dpuppy.
Keeping up distracted at this awful time...

CheekyFuckerHQ · 28/03/2020 18:21

@dramalessllama She is a short haired Chihuahua Cross Yorkshire terrier. She was rescued by the RSPCA from a puppy farm. I usually refer to her as a crossbreed to be honest, I don’t like the whole designer names thing but people do seem to know what they are when I call her a Chorkie. All of her brothers and sisters were very long haired.
