31, almost 32 and panicking that having ended a long term relationship it's getting later and later to have more children?

I have one DD but would love more.... anyone been single at 31/32 and ended up meeting Mr right and having more?

How old were you?

Am I being stupid????

Mum4Fergus · 15/03/2020 22:54

I was 41 when I had my DS...he's now 10.

nimsem2 · 15/03/2020 23:11

33 and 38

LuluJakey1 · 15/03/2020 23:12

35, 38, 40

TreadLightly3 · 15/03/2020 23:30

I met my partner at 39 and DS came at 42. You’re still v young, OP!

Contrabassoon · 15/03/2020 23:35

I think we have different ideas about what constitutes ‘later in life’, OP.

Gobbycop · 15/03/2020 23:39

Had our first around 4 months ago.

She was 39 when pregnant, 40 at birth.

I'm 43.

You've time 👍🏻

BrokenMumTeenDD · 15/03/2020 23:50

You've plenty of time, you really have.

I had my first naturally at a few months short of 42. I have several friends who did similar. I thought I would be the oldest mum at the school gates, not that I cared, but I wasn't. Most of the mums were older, with only a handful in their teens & early twenties

momtoboys · 15/03/2020 23:58

I had my first at 34 and my last two at 40. 5 in 5 1/2 years. I was tired but it was great! I met me DH in December, was engaged 10 weeks later and married before the year was up. First baby 10 months later. It's not too late! You are so young!

ceejay54321 · 16/03/2020 00:35

No - you’re not stupid - I can remember feeling panicked at your age, as I just ended a long term relationship. I did have fertility issues, conceived via IVF at 38 - and I’ve just had number 2 at age 46 using an egg donor. Number 1 is biologically mine - and the amount of love I have for both children is EXACTLY the same xx

Lozzerbmc · 16/03/2020 01:19

I was 38 when I had my son - had 2 friends with babies too at same time, both older

My2catsarefab · 16/03/2020 01:45

I was newly single at 35, with 2 DCs. Met my new partner a couple of months later (at a kid's party, of all places!) and then a year later had my youngest daughter at 36.

EmmaJR1 · 16/03/2020 01:58

I met my husband at 32 and had my children at 37 and 38.

I conceived naturally and pregnancy and Labour was standard for both.

It's possible, I think you are right to be aware but don't panic and don't settle.

Isitsixoclockalready · 16/03/2020 04:32

OP, I met my wife when I was 35 and she was 34 - had first child when she was 37 and second when she was nearly 40 so nothing to get worried about at your age!

GirlCalledJames · 16/03/2020 04:34

I only know one person who had kids before 35. At a certain level of career and education late thirties is the norm now.

LividLaughLovely · 16/03/2020 06:19

Met my husband 11 months ago. Go in to have baby today.

40 in two months 😅

ceejay54321 · 16/03/2020 06:40

@LividLaughLovely Oooo, how exciting. Best wishes and congratulations xx

Contrabassoon · 16/03/2020 07:24

Exactly, @GirlCalledJames.

Marlena1 · 16/03/2020 12:33

@LividLaughLovely that is brilliant!!!! Thinking of you, xxx

Forest1000 · 16/03/2020 15:05

Met my partner aged 32. Had children when I was 35, 37 and 39.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 16/03/2020 16:03

I was 19 when I had no1 child and 41 when I had no2 child! I planned neither! I find as an older mum though its easier. I have more security, more patience ,more time and more money however I lack stamina somedays. I am now 49 and my husband is 56 and I can honestly say I have never been happier.

YessicaHaircut · 16/03/2020 16:09

I got together with DH when I was 31, married at 33, first baby is due in June when I’ll be 37 and DH will be 44 in July. We don’t feel too old for it and in fact are both glad we got to travel, live abroad, and generally enjoy being young and silly in our 20s and early 30s.

restingbitchface30 · 16/03/2020 16:17

This has all made me feel better too so thank you. I’m 34 partner 26 we want children but he wants to wait a bit. And I’m thinking i can’t wait a bit really my clocks ticking! It’s caused some debates so thanks guys!

Helbelle17 · 16/03/2020 16:18

I didn't meet DH until I was 38. We got married 18 months later. I had DD aged 41 and am currently pregnant with DD2 aged 44, both conceived naturally.
I'm enjoying being an older mum. As pp have said, we've done our travelling and socialising for now, so can concentrate on our little family, and it's wonderful.

DrummerGal · 16/03/2020 16:22

I am the only one in my friendship group who had my DC in my twenties.

My friends:

Met guy at 34, baby at 36.
Met guy at 33, baby at 36.
Met guy at 32, babies at 37 and 39.
Met guy at 39, baby at 41.
Met guy at 39, baby at 42.

You’ve got time!

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 16/03/2020 16:25

36 and 39, both conceived naturally.
