No

slipperywhensparticus · 09/01/2020 22:10

You can self rep

If there is a routine in place the kids are happy with you can challenge his request and ask for the status quo to be kept no one likes a wanker wanting his kids just so he has to pay no child support

And incidentally on minimum wage its 16% for two children so it really isnt worth it

VulcanRay · 09/01/2020 22:13

You can't take a family member to represent you, but you can ask permission for a family member to come into the court room with you as a Mackenzie friend.

I know you are spending a fortune already but you really need a Soliciter experiences in domestic abuse and coercive control

Secondly you have a really shitty deal as it is with custody as he gets the weekends

Op I am so sorry he bullying you like this . It’s the most horrible and stressful thing ever

It’s so hard as your MH is suffering and the kids are too

Try and do things to calm down
And get yourself the most up to date book of ‘divorce and splitting up’ by Marilyn Stowe
It’s so empowering to read and get yourself educated

Don’t let him bully you
And let me know if you want the name of the firm I used who are good in these matters

How old are your kids OP ?

Baby steps . You can do this

Fightingmycorner2019 · 09/01/2020 22:27

Remeber he is chatting shit
The whole system is about the kids and what’s best for them
He is just trying to scare you

Fifi223 · 09/01/2020 22:29

They are 11 and 9. What happens if you dont have enough to pay for legal aid?

Fifi223 · 09/01/2020 22:30

There is another thread on here with some great link for advice , so read that
But also read that book I reccomended

As a general rule they only give legal aid when proven to be abusive

Are you happy with the firm you are using now?

Fifi223 · 10/01/2020 10:39

I am happy with their services, but its costing me a fortune to access their services.
