Just that really. Preferably if your partner is a good egg as i'd like to meet one of them, but honestly just curious? Might give me some hope that I won't be forever alone😂

I met mine here on Mumsnet!!! We were on a dating thread, got chatting, met up, fell in love and have been together over a year now.

We broke all the thread rules and I'm glad of it.

Thank you MN Grin

Bumble for me. Found it better than Tinder at the time. He's a very good egg and we're married with a baby coming soon (I hope!). Good luck!

NerdyCurvyInkedandPervy · 11/10/2019 10:25

I met my fiancee on an online forum for a singer we both like We met at a concert in RL about 18 years ago. We've been friends for years and have been officially together for almost 3 years.

DP2 was/is my tattooist, that's how we met.

mindutopia · 11/10/2019 10:26

In a bar. We were both working abroad in a small expat community. His co-worker was dating one of my co-workers and invited us both out for drinks after work (no intention of introducing us, just thought we'd like something to do on a Friday after work). Our friends that we met through are also now married with dc.

JustaScratcj · 11/10/2019 10:31

In a mixed dorm room in a hostel in South America. He's a good egg.

starfishcoffee · 11/10/2019 10:32

Wow. GrinShock

DP & I met at college, we were doing the same course & immediately had eyes for each other.

Rosequartz7 · 11/10/2019 11:45

In the pub, we had a mutual friend who i was out with. Turns out he recognised me from a kids party 4 or 5 years previously- my son and his cousins daughter were best friends at nursery then we moved away. I caught his eye apparently! Now he has moved away to be with me :)
Got to say tinder was full of wrong uns when I was on there so be careful, would recommend meeting someone in real life.
Sounds like there are lots of happy tinder stories through which is nice, maybe it was just me!!

batvixen123 · 11/10/2019 11:49

School. I'm that boring!

PumpkinP · 11/10/2019 12:14

Surprised to hear so many tinder ones as I’ve only ever heard negative things said about it!

GoGoJo · 11/10/2019 12:30

Would be interested to know how long ago the tinder ones were. I think it has declined massively in quality over the last year or two. It's all about hinge now apparently.

My friends bf set me up with one of his single friends.

trevthecat · 11/10/2019 12:31

We met at 14 at an ice skating rink! Always had a thing for each other but didn't get together till we were 27!

BarbedBloom · 11/10/2019 12:33

I met him five years ago on plenty of fish. Tbh still reeling at the reply on page one

Frazzled2207 · 11/10/2019 12:34

Online!!

ShadyFP · 11/10/2019 12:37

Friend of a work friend. Met because the guy from work used to invite his non-work friends on work nights out. I think mixing friend groups is a great way to meet new people, but it’s not as though it happens naturally often.

isseywithcats · 11/10/2019 12:56

Friends with DP for 3 years and one night we decided to pull each other to have a one night stand but turns out to be more than that! Grin

WooMaWang · 11/10/2019 13:26

@GoGoJo as far as I can tell, online dating usage varies geographically. There'd be no point using hinge round here but pretty much all the single people are on Tinder.

I met DP on tinder nearly 18 months ago, which is within your timeframe.

AnneKipanki · 11/10/2019 13:45

At university . It was at a fund raising disco . A long time ago now.

Onemansoapopera · 11/10/2019 13:55

Tinder - 5 years together 2.5 years married

Veggielioness · 11/10/2019 14:04

Virgin Train. Preston to Glasgow. Complete strangers booked in seats next to each other. 5 years, 2 kids. Madly in love with him.

Veggielioness · 11/10/2019 14:04

And married!

aufaitaccompli · 11/10/2019 14:05

OP I hope you find someone. I'm plucking up the courage to date again after a few shitty experiences.
I don't feel good about myself but at the same time, if I wait until I do, it might never happen, iyswim.

I'm a bloody great big chicken.

Argghh!

I did get dates through Match and OKCupid....if that's any use!

18995168a · 11/10/2019 14:08

Our Tinder meet was three years ago. It’s like any OLD platform, there are people looking for serious relationships, people looking for ONS and casual hookups and people who are open to whatever comes their way. I found the guys who were looking for casual were really easy to spot and weed out.

timetochangeagainforever · 11/10/2019 14:13

Met my ex husband in a nightclub 1989 and were together 21 years. Ex bf 7 yrs though friends of family. Currently single
