Hi All. Brief background. I initiated split from my EXH 18 month ago, legally divorced 8 month ago and now settled in new home and childcare arrangements all sorted. (get me!!)
I was married 15 years at young age so have never really dated - at all. I have recently been thinking about trying on-line dating, I feel terrified, excited and over whelmed all at the same time about it. I wonder if anyone out there has tried on-line dating from a similar position to me. I'm looking for tips to stay safe, tips on which app to use - and when it comes down to it, how do you work out which men you actually want to date??

I'd look at the Dating thread for tips etc, there's always one going.

But please whatever you do:
always meet in public places
don't invite them back to your house
if you do meet someone special...don't introduce the children to them for a fair while until you have the measure of the person you are dating.

I'm currently single, but not ready for OLD myself, however I've learnt a lot from MN. Tinder and Bumble are recommended. At the moment I'm in the 'meet them in natural circumstances' camp, but wouldn't rule out OLD in the future.

As for working out a man you want to date whether you meet them naturally or OL...what is it you want from a man/relationship? Fun, companionship, just sex? Personally I want someone who is kind (a BIG priority for me having an ex who was quite nasty at times) fun, adventurous and solvent!

I'm sure some of the others will respond, but good luck!
