Dp hasn't come home!

He finished work around 2 and was going for a few drinks. Heard from him around 5 to say he was grabbing some food, he'd have a few more drinks and then head home. I messaged at 8, asking if he was having a good time, what time should I expect him etc. He replied he was going to finish his drink and go for the bus home.
Nothing since. I've tried messaging and calling, it's going straight to voice mail and messages are unread.

I'm worrying and feeling a bit stupid for worrying, then feeling stupid for not worrying more and doing something. Although I've no clue what I should/could be doing.

He's probably just drunk and is phones died or hasn't got signal and he'll roll home in the early house stupidly drunk, right?

Only he doesn't often get stupidly drunk and especially not when out with colleagues and he's really good at keeping in touch if his plans etc change.

I don't really know his colleagues, so can't get in touch with them. I've had a little look on social media and he's not by the looks of things, met up with his own friends or anything. I could text some of them to check but feel a bit silly doing so.

Not sure what I'm asking really, I guess just some reassurance that's he's most likely ok and probably just drunk. My mums away this weekend so don't want to bother her and don't want to worry his parents.

I hope he's come home OP. How worrying for you.

DP did this once and I was worried sick all night. He came home at about 7am after the work drinks ended up with drinks at his friends house where he ended up sleeping on the sofa. Very out of character for him. Much to my own surprise I actually burst out crying when he finally got home as I was so relieved, I think that really shocked him as he was very apologetic.

He's not home yet. But he's apparently at a colleagues house. Which I only know because I phoned one of his friends who we know well and who used to work with Dp. He still had contact details and rang around for me.

I'm furious, I've hardly slept and I'm now up for the day with Ds. He knows I'm feeling crappy and a bit unwell anyway and he was only supposed to be out for a few drinks.

Oh this is so stressful especially when it’s out of character. Hopefully he’s home safe now and you have managed some sleep.

As soon as he gets home hand baby to him and go back to bed. Men do my head in sometimes and just don't know when to stop. My DP rarely goes out but when he does he doesn't make an appearance until 5am. Doesn't bother letting me know he's alright. Apparently I'm just "supposed to know". Probably no point in talking to him when he comes in as then there's potential for an argument. Better to just let him stew and shit himself about what you're going to say.

Oh what a dick. I’m sorry OP Flowers

Hope he’s got the worst hangover today.

Wtf? Could there be more to this OP?
Seems odd he was capable of texting and saying he was about to head home one minute and then so steaming drunk he went out for a few more hours and then to a colleagues sofa without so much as a drunken bumbling call or text.

I’d be massively cross but also a bit Hmm.

But above all how sodding thoughtless.
Ask him to imagine how he would be if you did the same

Another one for handing the baby to him and you go back to bed. I'd hit the roof. You poor thing you must be wrecked.

Hopefully he will feel very hungover.
He sounds just like my OH. I'm pleased he no longer goes out drinking now as he can never stop at a 'few' drinks. He's decided the hangover and the hassle isn't worth it.

Just seen your update. What an arsehole move. As soon as he gets home hand him the child and go to bed. Honestly, what is wrong with people. I would be so angry and hurt by this disrespectful behavior.

I’d be absolutely livid with him. Totally inconsiderate.

Still seems a bit strange. OP if it's out of character just talk to him and try to find out why.

And I don't see how his phones died. He's ridiculous about charging it, it says 40% and he thinks it's running out. Plus he doesn't use 4G much and it's a newish phone so generally if he's charged it overnight like we both do it last all day and some. I'm on my phone more and was obviously last night but just realised I'd not turned the plug on my charger and my phone was still on 20%.

Bless you, I'd be livid too OP. Very inconsiderate and selfish behaviour. My DH got steaming drunk a few times after DS was born and I've been not a happy bunny each time because as you say it then leaves one parent to take on the next day whilst the other is hideously hungover. Plus he didn't even come home or let you know so just left you to worry. Hope he's suitably apologetic when he returns.

Even if his phone died, why couldn’t he have sent you a message from someone else’s phone? This seems v suspicious.

Maybe phone was stolen and he doesn't know your number, stayed out to look for it. That's happened to me before. If he's just thoughtless. One of the other.
