He wants a baby now, says he'll leave if I'm not fertile

I'm 32 years old. We have been together 9 years. He's in a good paying job. I've been unemployed for 3 months. On the pill since before we met. He's now said once I get a job and we have 2 steady incomes, we have to start trying for a baby. He also said I'm not getting any younger and that if I'm infertile, then he'll have to find someone younger. I'd like kids maybe, but never had that massive maternal longing like other. My nieces and nephews are cool etc! Financially we are not ready.

As I've wrote this out, I now feel I know the answer to my non question here.

Anyone else experience something similar? 😦

I worked with someone who had a friend whose dp said he'd only marry after she'd got pregnant so she'd demonstrated she was fertile. So not the first time I've heard of this!

RiverTam · 25/01/2019 12:25

no assumption that he might be firing blanks, of course.

Why don't you tell him you'll ditch him for a younger fertile model too, hmm?

Or just leave. What a prick.

seeingdots · 25/01/2019 12:26

Bloody hell! Please leave him and find someone who respects and loves you. Or just be single, you'll be better off either way! You're more than a reproductive vessel.

halfwitpicker · 25/01/2019 12:27

Henry 8 indeed. But probably not quite as handsome I'd bet.

Leave him for dust op, the door's thataway 👉

Wordthe · 25/01/2019 13:17

@Aventurine, please tell us what happened
did she go along with it and marry him after demonstrating that she can bear his child
Or did she laugh at him and tell him to fuck off ?

Aventurine · 25/01/2019 14:02

Hi, sorry i don't know as i left that job ages ago and didn't keep in touch with the colleague. The person was Nigerian but I'm sure it's not a cultural difference as I'm sure it would be considered just as shitty there as it is anywhere else.

Pinkmonkeybird · 25/01/2019 16:13

Actually gobsmacked at this. I really do hope you do LTB OP....this is not fucking on at all. What a complete tosser. He doesn't even deserve to be a father with that attitude.

Andromeida59 · 26/01/2019 02:08

This is my first but absolutely LTB. You are more than a child bearing vessel. TTC can be stressful enough without the pressure from a dick like that.

highheelsandheadheldhigh · 26/01/2019 02:11

RUN. What a wanker.

Rezie · 26/01/2019 09:11

I wonder how many men and women think this way but never says it out lout?

Don't get me wrong. He sounds like a jerk and that ultimatum is ridiculous and went from ultimatum to a bit blackmaily
