Single mums at Christmas - what are your plans?

Single mum here - feeling a little anxious about the Christmas break. I am a student nurse so no Christmas work parties planned. I don't have any friends (just one or two I message from uni) so no evenings out planned. Currently on a placement and everyone is discussing their plans for Christmas and New year and I'm so embarrassed to say I don't have any. Waiting in the que at the school gates listening to two mums discussing their plans. Looking at Facebook posts of people already enjoying the festive celebrations. I know you shouldn't compare and Facebook only shows you the good parts but its real, people have lives.
I'm looking forward to spending time (2 weeks) with my 2 dc's but I'm also feeling a little anxious as it hits home more so than ever that I am single, not alone but lonely.

@Donkdonkgoo lovely, you are all the xmas your son needs. Don't ever under estimate your powers as a mum. You are your DC's family and you are precious and irreplaceable not just today but every day. Happy new year to you. X

Hush you all.. you are behaving like a bunch of baby kittens. You are making me almost sad with all your tears. Wipe your faces down and woman up. It's New Year's Eve.... it's party time! We got a whole new 365 days waiting for us. Celebrate!!! Yeah!! ( I've had that champagne btw) x

Feeling positive tonight. 2018 saw me end a relationship that wasn't working for me, saw my divorced finalised after nearly 6 years, my eldest start high school, my youngest start nursery, me start learning to drive, me cutting out more toxic people from my life. It's been s tough year but a positive one. Onwards and upwards as always for us all. Single mums: fighting the fight and doing the best for our children despite all the shit thrown at us.

Well, a combination of me not organising anything, me working both the 31st and the 1st, the lurgy which wiped me out, my child asking if she can go to a NYE party etc saw me alone by 7 , no food in the house (as in no junk/not cooked). I made a sandwich and later on went to bed with a tipple of Night Nurse 😂

Next year I promise I’ll be more organised and throw a dinner party. Or go out :)
