Was staying at my mums for a couple of days then I came back home.
Went upstairs to our room and saw a long black Samsung charger plugged in.. but we both have iPhones?
It had been there a couple of days and I took no notice of it but today when I saw it again I thought this is weird where did this come from?
So I asked my husband who’s charger is this he said he doesn’t know he has no idea how it got there .. weird ? Who else’s can it be?
I’m really confused..
I don’t want to stress too much I’m 15 weeks pregnant.
Shall I ask him again tomorow?? Or leave it ?

Can't believe you've not asked the brother yet!

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 02/10/2018 17:33

Is it a standard usb or the newer usb c? The standard one can be used to charge many different gadgets not just phones, doesn't explain how it got there though.

mum11970 · 02/10/2018 17:35

Isn’t a Samsung charger just a normal micro usb charger that can charge a multitude of things? Could be for absolutely anything and owned by someone else in the house. We’ve got absolutely loads of charging wires dotted everywhere. Seems to be a bit of an over reaction to a charging cable.

RestingBitchFaced · 02/10/2018 17:48

Do you have an Amazon alexa? That's the same charger as a Samsung

LemonysSnicket · 02/10/2018 19:37

Did he have a friend over who plugged it in and he didn't notice?

Mumtobe99 · 02/10/2018 21:30

Ok guys I think I’ve figured it
he finally remembered that he was using this cable to charge his PlayStation controller 😫😅
He said he completely forgot what he used it for got me all worried for nothing!
But he said this cable could also be used on old Samsung’s etc etc that’s why I thought it might be a phone

If you have smart phones, you can log into the router and check to see what other devices are using the network.

TokenGinger · 02/10/2018 22:13

I was just coming on to day my DP usesthe Samsung cable for his PS controller.

TokenGinger · 02/10/2018 22:13

Issy777 · 02/10/2018 22:37

Jesus so glad this had a happy ending, looking at the usual OTT comments from MumsNetters, it's so eerie how they're all at it again "finish him" blah blah

WOMANTALK · 03/10/2018 02:31

Jeepers... There's been a lot of assumptions made under this post Bear

HereIgoagainxx · 03/10/2018 02:43

He forgot what he charged after a few days.??? If true, he needs to see his GP. My memory isn't great, but God, his is atrocious.

Monday55 · 03/10/2018 04:18

If it's for a PlayStation 4 then it's all good but if it's for a PS3 controller then I'd doubt him again.

But his first reaction sounded genuine.

MrBuscuits · 03/10/2018 05:28

Sorry, to read and run... you poor thing. He's up to something. LTB. Flowers

Nightwatch999 · 03/10/2018 06:01

But then why was if plugged into the wall socket not the Playstation?
All 3 of my DC plug theirs direct into the PS?

TokenGinger · 03/10/2018 08:17

My DP doesn't charge his connected to the PS4 unless he's actually playing on it whilst charging. He generally plugs it in to the wall.

OP, a lot of people will make assumptions about what this is and will jump to the worst conclusion. If he has form for lying, then keep your guard up but if not, take it at face value.

My DP asked me a few weeks ago what the funny looking thing plugged in next to his side of the bed. I was like er, I dunno?! He said well it's not mine so it must be you and I was just like hmm, I dunno. I didn't clock until a few days later when I needed that funny looking thing to charge my Fitbit again that it was indeed mine!

userblah · 03/10/2018 09:14

I wouldn't even have given this s second thought

Mumtobe99 · 03/10/2018 20:35

He does usually plug it into the PS4 itself but it’s easier for him to charge it this way
It was actually the controllers charger itself just can’t beleive he didn’t know for himself 😫

A Samsung charger will charge pretty much anything other than an iPhone. We use them for kindles, vape, wireless headphones, wireless microphones, cameras, drones, fitbit the list is endless...

I do however think it’s really strange he has no idea where it came from

alvinp · 04/10/2018 07:27

Most devices nowadays use USB chargers, they are nearly all interchangeable. My kids are always pinching mine to charge their PS4 controllers.

I think his laugh sounds like genuine surprise. A guilty person would be a bit less relaxed.

HarmlessChap · 04/10/2018 10:37

I'm a bit techy I don't refer to a wall socket usb adapter or micro usb cable as a phone charger. Its a generic standard which can be used to charge loads of items, I don't match the wall socket with the device and cable, I have a power bank, headphones and bike lights which didn't come with a wall socket. I couldn't tell you the brand of wall socket adapter they get plugged into. If someone said to me who's Samsung phone charger was in the bedroom my imidiate thought would be about when phones had a propritary connections rather than a micro usb cable.
