So we arranged dare Monday night (day time place etc)

Yesterday we exchanged 2 messages in morning and his last one was just saying restaurant we are going to has "steak &lobster Wednesday" and was I ok with that? Responded "it sounded great"

Haven't heard since which is fine don't want to chat to much before date.

So today's date night and heard nothing, should I presume it's still on or should I be waiting for/sending confirmation text?

Would you just arrive at arranged time without confirmation

Def get a selfie in the restaurant too so that if he pops up tomorrow you can wordlessly send him it and piss him off he missed out on such an ace self confident woman 😊

Sadly this sort of thing is very very common with online dating..could be a number of reasons, it could be a fake profile or a catfish, or married and just likes chatting and scoring dates.

I met my dh old on tinder he was an hour late for our first date and didn't contact me. Luckily, the world didn't end, I have him the benefit of the doubt, three years later, we're blissfully happily married. He's a fantastic husband and step dad. Yes I'd had crap dates before then and even been stood up, so what. You have to be positive, open and non-judgmental , if you want positive stuff to happen. Happiness in yourself first and foremost .

UPDATE:

I went in and got a red wine, he wasn't here BUT he has just texted!! Basically saying

He's truly sorry his sister is 8 months pregnant and was having pains so he went to look after her 10 month old twins as obviously has been hectic all day and he's very sorry for not getting back to me sooner!

What I hell do I reply to that?

My second online date - I texted to cancel as my childcare had fallen through, then again to reinstate at the last minute. I'm glad my date forgave me for this flakiness, as we've now been married for over 10 years.

If this person didn't turn up, they missed out on a great time. Chalk it up to experience and better luck next time.
