My on/off (currently apparently on) boyfriend of 3 years casually mentioned going to (city) this weekend to see his mates, and asked could I lend him the train fare so I did.

Only he's actually in a different town meeting up with his ex.

I feel like less than dust.

Hah, as funny as it would be to write a tell all status, I know it would be used to justify his behaviour iyswim.

Sort of like yeah she's mental, she checks my Facebook etc. Except I never ever have, haven't asked to and wouldn't even think of going on his phone. It was only because I recognised her name from the internet tab that I clicked it, because I got this huge knot in my stomach.

What a fucking scumbag! Sew some prawns into his curtains and clean the bog with his toothbrush, rub chilli on his undercrackers Smile

luckkkkkky7 · 03/11/2017 15:33

You poor thing :( is this a serous relationship ?

shoofly · 03/11/2017 15:33

I'm in Newtownabbey, just outside Belfast if you need help.... pm me

Butterymuffin · 03/11/2017 15:34

Ring your old accommodation providers now before they close for the day, say there's been an unexpected problem and ask about moving back in. If not ask if they can recommend any others. Also speak to your student advice people about financial help.

He's been a dick and you'll be well rid.

Check around the apartment for money. You'd be morally in the clear to take £30 back if you found it. Don't assume that because he asked to borrow it, he doesn't have it somewhere. You know now he has low moral standards.

DJBaggySmalls · 03/11/2017 15:35

Make sure you tuck a fresh prawn into the hollow part of the curtain rod before you leave.

BenLui · 03/11/2017 15:36

You are quite right Slay keep your dignity, work the problem .

Slaylormoon · 03/11/2017 15:39

@shoofly thanks but I'm a little too far north, and I don't drive.

No money anywhere, I've had a good look. Then it hit me, that he will have taken my debit card to withdraw the money :(

Jaxhog · 03/11/2017 15:40

Oh that's horrible. But it could be a good use of £30 to find out he's a cheating shit.

TsunamiOfShit · 03/11/2017 15:40

Please make sure to have your card blocked.

K0729P · 03/11/2017 15:40

I'm so sorry, but I agree that will have been the best £30 you will have ever spent.

I'd also have some fun on his FB. What an arsepiece!

Janek · 03/11/2017 15:41

Well cancel it then. Quickly! He has nothing to lose by taking more now, apart from anything.

brrrfreeezy · 03/11/2017 15:41

phone the bank and tell them that someone has stolen your card.
find anything you can sell from his stuff worth up to £30...

SparklyMagpie · 03/11/2017 15:41

Aww what a shit!

Keep your head up and I agree not writing anything on his Facebook

What a damn nerve he had asking for money!

BenLui · 03/11/2017 15:41

Phone the bank and cancel the card.

In future never give anyone your PIN number.

luckkkkkky7 · 03/11/2017 15:42

Cancel your card now !

SparklyMagpie · 03/11/2017 15:42

Just read your uodate! Ring your bank and get it canceled, QUICK!

Did you give him the 30 quid cash or just gave him your card?

Slaylormoon · 03/11/2017 15:43

He just took the card, I didn't think anything of it. I've cancelled it now.

OP posts:
SparklyMagpie · 03/11/2017 15:44

Good! Hopefully he didn't get chance to withdraw any money

Do you have online banking so you can check?

MyOtherProfile · 03/11/2017 15:45

So sorry. But glad you found out now.

BewareOfDragons · 03/11/2017 15:47

I'd report the car stolen.

What an prick.

He took your bank card Shock
Get the fucker arrested! That should dampen his ardour!

CaveMum · 03/11/2017 15:49

Can you get to a local branch of your bank to withdraw some cash in person?

whiskyowl · 03/11/2017 15:50

sweetpotato - she did say it was an on/off relationship. Maybe that was an "off" period.

This sounds like the stimulus you need to bin this bastard for good. I'm so sorry, it's clearly a huge shock.
