So I'm starting a new thread following on from 0I don't know what to do" as we're almost full.
Blimey! How did that happen!

Seems lots of you are rather ruddy marvellous and want to keep going on this journey with me so I'm opening a new chapter.
Will be back with a proper update later 💐

Thanks everyone, it’s lovely of you all to try and shore me up. I’m pretty much falling apart again though.

Just never get a break or a few days with no worries. It’s unremittingly grim.

I really feel like I am going to just go under with it all, there is no energy left to keep swimming against this tide. The only thing that keeps me going are all my children, thinking of their hopeful, sweet little faces. Just try not to see anything else, any of the darkness that is surrounding us but right now it it’s another of those weekends that has engulfed me.

These recordings may go against him and he could end up facing charges. He’s possibly set himself up.

Sorry about your dog x

RandomMess · 19/11/2017 21:07

With the dog could you get a metal mesh box to go on the inside of the door, it would show that you take it seriously and have done something to prevent a repeat incidence occurring?

Ellendegeneres · 19/11/2017 21:55

Lollipop, don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that if a dog harms someone on private property, it's the owners decision as to whether it is pts, it can't be forced. I've heard stories of dogs maiming children and (usually they being a family members pet) refused to pts their dog as it's part of the family in their eyes- so families go nc etc.
So I very much doubt this person would be able to force this.

As someone else mentioned, a mesh over the letterbox would be a good preventative measure though. Obviously it's horrible that someone's been cause injury by your pet, but I hope for your sake this can be moved past with minimal stress to you.

As for his recordings... I can only tell you the word that springs to mind is one I very rarely use- cunt.
He's been baiting you forever. And now thinks this will help. I hope he gets sent down, the abusive, harassing wanker. He is an absolute stinking piece of shit.

SpringLake · 20/11/2017 08:00

Delurking to ask if you actually saw it happen? It could be another dirty trick. Not unlikely to bring in a 'friend' to make preposterous claims against something else you love, I'm sorry to say.

You are doing amazing. Keep as strong as you can!

OnTheRise · 20/11/2017 08:09

With regard to the dog--why on earth were they putting their hand so far through the letterbox the dog could bite their fingers?

I'd wait and see on that one. Something doesn't sound right to me.

You have so much to cope with right now. It's awful, how your ex is putting you through all this. He clearly doesn't have any compassion or kindness. The one good thing about it is that it will be obvious to the police what he's like, treating you like this.

I shall look forward to hearing what actions his employer takes regarding the paternity leave he's taken. And I hope you feel better today.

GrabbyMcGrabby · 20/11/2017 13:46

Sending you more FlowersFlowersFlowers. Keep your eye on the horizon. Your happy ever after with your three little kids is over there. I am sorry you have a battle to get there, but sure you will. Try and get some rest and keep eating so you can keep your strength up. FlowersFlowersFlowers

PhuntSox · 20/11/2017 14:03

Is he telling you with the aim of upsetting you? In fact he probably doesn't want the dog and is lying so he can get rid of it.

FuckFaulkerILikeTheGruffalo · 20/11/2017 15:32

Oh Lolli he's an utter bastard!

You will get through this, you are so strong. I know it's exhausting being strong all the time but you can see this through, I think you're so brave and wonderful. I'm in awe of everything you have achieved so far.

Sorry to hear about DDog, but I would be surprised that someone's finger tresspassing through the letter box, attached to an unseen person, getting bit is enough to have your doggie PTS. It would be absurd!

Mumek · 20/11/2017 16:09

Many dogs pull the post/newspapers/flyers out of the letterbox - not the dogs fault if there is a hand poking through as well.

In total awe of you Lolli..hugs.

MrsBertBibby · 20/11/2017 16:19

A dog is "dangerously out of control" if it injures someone (whether in a public or private place). Any dog found to have been dangerously out of control will be pts unless a court determines it is not, in fact, a risk to the public.

Lollipop, it isn't clear to me if the dog is with you, or with your ex, but assuming it is with you, you really need a cage over the letterbox to protect other people.

Chin up! You know he is going to fight as dirty as he can. Try not to let it come as a shock.

MrsBertBibby · 20/11/2017 16:22

not the dogs fault

No, It's the owner's fault. If you have a dog, train it not to do this, keep it away from the letterbox, or install a bloody mailbox and nail the letterbox shut.

FFS.

Sorry lollipop, but people are so bloody blase about a dog's right to snack on humans. Boils my piss.

holdbackonthewine · 20/11/2017 17:35

If I were alone in the house and a hand came in far enough into my letterbox I might feel threatened enough to take a biteHmmand I’m not canine. I see no valid reason why someone’s hand would be that far in..... yes a mesh collection box seems a plan but I wouldn’t put it past you ex to be involved in this either.

Does dear dog have form? We had a terrier years ago who would have protected us all from anything but we had to have a mail box outside as he didn’t like deliveries.

Another mini mole hill for you to climb Lollipop but you’re a Himalayan climber now my dear, you just don’t recognise your own strength yet. Keep buggering on.

MrsBertBibby · 20/11/2017 17:48

Having done quite a bit of newspaper, post and leaflet delivery in my lifetime, sometimes you really do have to stick a hand right in to get a floppy leaflet properly in, and not fluttering in the breeze for passing burglars to see.

And dogs that attack the letterbox are bloody terrifying when you're on the other side of the door.

lollipop7 · 20/11/2017 17:52

The man who got his finger bitten was the bin cleaning company man. He pushed a minuscule piece of paper through. For once the porch door was open and the dog just ran at the letterbox. She’s never near it normally.
He’s been back and told me they need to see if the wound gets infected. He’s had tetanus jab etc and packed the sound with antibiotics. We did cleans it thoroughly and applied antiseptic cream and a gauze to it.

I’ve just said that if he wants to pursue matters to contact his solicitor. Hopefully the insurance will cover it and I won’t be held criminally liable as well. 😓
There isn’t much else I can do apart form hope the dog - whose never hurt a fly in her life - is assessed as meriting a contingent destruction order and we can keep her albeit muzzled.
The letterbox grille has since been fitted and if I can save her I have preliminarily enrolled her with a dog behavioural class.

All I can do is wait. My friends reckon the blokes on the make and just wants bunging a few grand.

Shit

MrsBertBibby · 20/11/2017 17:59

Sounds like you've done all the right things lollipop. It will be fine.

Ellie56 · 20/11/2017 18:04

I reckon your friends are right Lollipop.

But it sounds like you've done all the right things.

iknowimcoming · 20/11/2017 19:50

Hmm I’d say your friend is right and he’s on the make - he’s gone quite quickly from going to lose a finger to needing to see if it’s infected hasn’t he? It sounds like you’ve done all you can there Lollipop and I doubt you’ll hear much more from him to be honest. You are doing so well with everything that’s thrown at you - you are amazing! How are those lovely dc of yours doing? Flowers

lollipop7 · 20/11/2017 20:34

@iknowimcoming they’re doing really well. Baby C is utterly scrumptious and I am once again besotted with new baby smell and cuddles. The other two not so baby but still little lollipops are thriving and full of it which, given everything is a good sign.

I feel so heartbroken about my dog. She’s only five. She’s got me through a lot and I don’t know how I will deal with it if she’s destroyed. The porch door was only open because he brought the fucking cats for the litter trays and I still haven’t found a home for them all. She has never done anything like this. I have her around children and a baby all day. They dress her up and think she’s a pony so it’s so out of character. Just writing this I’m crying. She’s been an enormous part of my life and I thought I’d see her into old age with grey whiskers.

When it will end ? I just don’t know

I’ve decided to express enough milk for two feeds and have a fuck off gin & tonic! X

OP posts:
Scoobygang7 · 20/11/2017 20:40

@lollipop7 you don’t need to express to have a drink as long as you aren’t too drunk to look after baby, you’re not too intoxicated to feed straight from breast.

AvoidingDM · 20/11/2017 22:03

I don't think you'll hear from finger man again. Huge jump from antebiotics to loosing a finger.

I'll second a G&T isn't going to stop you being able too feed. I'd be loathed to start messing around expressing for a baby so young. I had a champagne when my baby was a week old (little bottle I'd been given).

lollipop7 · 21/11/2017 07:54

Gin was lush.
I've had to express due his low blood sugars when we were in hospital. And he needed two tongue tie snips 😓Fortunately my milk came in very well. I can easily express enough for the odd feed and he's switching between breast & bottle well.

Think finger man will be back today........

OP posts:
Frouby · 21/11/2017 08:06

Is your dog insured lollipop? Try ringing your pet insurance company if so, they sometimes have a legal helpline or check if any of your insurance companies do. They will be able to advise.

I think a dog bite is a criminal rather than civil manager so if bin man comes back and starts hasselling you I would just advise him to report it to the police and let them deal with it. Hopefully they will be sympathetic to you and spot a chancer.

If you have taken steps to ensure it can't happen again and he was daft enough to shove a tiny slip of paper through while a jrt goes nuts at the other side of the door then more fool him. Maybe post in the doghouse section on here, there might be someone who can help.

Bekabeech · 21/11/2017 08:55

From a quick internet search - the worst is he will try to sue you through a”no win no fee” place for “loss of earnings”. Has he missed work? How much does he earn?

I’d still get a cage, as the Post will refuse to deliver if they feel the dog is a hazard.

Mustang27 · 21/11/2017 08:59

Finger man is completely at it. Be polite but I’d hit him with the legal facts if you know them. That’s good that he is switching between boob and bottle what a wee star.
