Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

Filming set up sounds fun Willow.
Hope you had good afternoon cake.

Had a long day at work, although I didn't get in until 10am, finished at 4pm but then spent a couple of hours bringing scouts accounts upto date. So not home until nearly 7pm and only just eaten.

Think feeling slightly less down than the last week or so, basically I'm lonely and I don't know what to do about that.

Popped round to see a friend on Friday morning and basically just cried.
People suggest things and I just don't have any interest or enthusiasm.
I guess I have to reach the point of making myself do stuff I'm not very interested in and see how it goes. Not sure I'm there yet, might still be coming to terms with things.

Nothing I can say Squirrel here any time if you need to sound off. Bet it feels like forever and no time at all. Your whole world has been turned upside down.

Willow that sounds exciting.

Afternoon went fine until DS came out with a sore neck! FFS what ever else?

I'm off to stretch my achy muscles now and then going to read for a bit.

Night all

bookbook · 09/10/2017 22:26

Evening all
Just a quick pop in to say goodnight.
Chasing it's a hard road you are travelling along, but I think if you could look over your shoulder, you have come a long way .
Willow - sounds like it was interesting at least!
Cake - oh dear sore neck? Enjoy the read
Just had a bit of a rubbish day tbh. Nothing wrong, just not right IYSWIM..
So I have sat and done crotchet, and had a committee meeting tonight.
In between just washing/ironing/shopping. Did get up and sort my material stash in the loft too, so that was a plus .
Sleep well all

Morning all
A bit grey this morning
Up and dressed, no housework in dressing gown today Blush- we have a delivery of wood this morning. I know its unlikely until at least 10, but I would hate to be still in my dressing gown :)
Have a bit to do after yesterdays laze.
Load of washing on, need to clean the fridge and the kitchen floor.
DH did all the tidying and hoovering yesterday, so thats done and out of the way.
Allotment calls too - maybe after lunch.
Have a good day all

SelenaValentina · 10/10/2017 09:31

Hi everyone, sorry things feel so bleak, squirrel - no doubt that's in front of me too. Whilst waiting for plane I was talking to lady also widowed who says she just keeps busy. Her daughter has just had baby and lives in Zürich so every 5 weeks or so she goes and stays - then comes home to 'grey', which lasts a couple of days. I guess we just have to figure out how to adapt. Somehow.

I'm back from travels! Stayed last night in Radisson Blu on Manchester Airport - and they upgraded me to Business Class. Such a shame my train home is 10 30 as could get used to this!!

Willow2017 · 10/10/2017 13:00

Afternoon all.
Sorry it all a bit tough going at the moment Squirrels ((hugs))

Selena sounds lovely shame you can't enjoy it longer.

Done my volunteering stint this morning. Regional boss there and hopefully she is going to empty my boxes of researched stuff as no room for any more! None of the stuff has moved in 2 weeks!

Miserable day wet and full.

Housework calling, just had lunch and trying to get up some enthusiasm for hoovering and dusting😀

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 10/10/2017 13:52

Hello

Sorry to hear you had an off day yesterday book Hope today goes more smoothly and that the wood came nice and early seeing as you were ready for it.

Selena that sounds like a lovely little treat to end the holiday. How are things with the kitchen now? Is it all done?

Willow pop some loud music on and get going Grin

Our neighbours (2 doors down) and having their house extended, so my quiet time while little sleeps is spent listening to them drilling!

Check in with you all tonight. No call from school so hopefully the neck has loosened up!

Willow2017 · 10/10/2017 14:21

Ofgs!
Checking emails for jobs and got a spam 'paypal' email about a transaction. Have spent 20 minutes getting through to PP for them to say its fine it wont go through! It have better not!

Still not started houseworkd due to 5million emails to sift through for jobs that are not within a few miles of me they are hundreds of miles away! Arghghghg.

bookbook · 10/10/2017 16:23

Afternoon all
Just sat down with a cup of coffee.
I am back to normal today - I think everyone has off days :)
The delivery - due this morning , arrived at 1.45 . Ah well, got all sorts done this morning, and then I have been at the allotment, weeding, picking raspberries, and digging up a savoy for tea.
Selena - the trouble with having that joy, is you then realise what you are missing! Hope you got home safe and sound, and the kitchen is now all singing and dancing and finished
Willow - how annoying - all that work you have put into the research, and nothing done. Sounds like very poor management - after all, they are supposed to be raising money . And loads of emails - any way of filtering them down? Probably not I suspect.
Cake - drilling and banging around on an extension sounds annoying - is it likely to be going on for a while? good to hear you haven't had the call about DS .
I was on 3rd (!) place ringing for DGS ( so they could administer calpol if need be - poorly knee , probably bruised due to kneeling on Lego DD thinks) , but not heard so don't know if he didn't need it, or they managed to get hold of DD and Son in law first .....
Chasing - hope you are okay today
Right - off to water pots, feed birds, and then prep up for our evening meal

SelenaValentina · 10/10/2017 17:11

Home safely. Kitchen not finished as splashback ordered (and paid for) 4 weeks' ago not arrived so Organiser furious as means tiler can't complete.

Electrician still here but says will be finished on Thursday and not coming tomorrow. Hallelujah. Why don't electricians clean up after themselves? Have to have major clear up before can even get in bed as stuff been dumped on it. If he'd only have worked the days he said, it would be finished NOW. But he's been doing the certificate today, so that will be the plus.

Willow - it begs the question why you should bother.
cake - grrrr.
squirrel - Flowers and juan too.
book - just a bit of your energy --- please!

Chasingsquirrels · 10/10/2017 17:29

Just imagine it finished Selena, when it will be lovely. Sounds like a good end to your holiday.

Stayed up till 2am doing Scouts accounts - hadn't noticed the time - so am zonked now! Picked up the boys from school on the way home at 4.30pm and now wondering what on earth we are going to have for tea.
Ds1's leg is hurting (shin splint) so needs rest and ds2 has been at rugby practice so we are giving joggers a miss (which works well as friend we lift share with isn't going this week).

Good that no phone call from school cake and hope he is okay this evening.

Hope your researched stuff gets moved on Willow, and you managed to either get going - or have a relax instead.

Willow2017 · 10/10/2017 18:32

Evening
Got some done, hoovering upstairs and down and tidying up kitchen. Needn't have bothered it's just as bad again!

Printed up a recipe for Mac cheese and gave it to kids who made tea! Am amazed no complaints just got stuck in!

Spose I had better do dishes. 😉
Now what to get them to make tomorrow?

Glad all the tinies have been fine today.

Hope it's all over sooner rather than later Selena it's maddening when things aren't delivered on time.

Upstairs in shop is very cramped everywhere very old building so having the tiny office full of boxes of stuff I dealt with is annoying. But I do know they are short staffed this week so not holding my breath. Might move it out and pinch an empty box I did have notes on everything but don't know where they went maybe still in the boxes fingers crossed.
Who knows tomorrow could be my last day?

squirrels I do that too time just gets away hope you get a relaxed pm.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 10/10/2017 21:32

Juan sends you all a wave. Sleep well all of you x

bookbook · 10/10/2017 22:45

Just popping in to say goodnight,
best wishes to Juan
sleep well all

Horsemad · 10/10/2017 22:59

Hopefully it will be worth the wait, Selena Smile Also, how nice to be upgraded - I'd love that! Grin

Chasing, do make sure you get enough sleep, as that can affect your moods. Flowers I burn the candle at both ends, then end up crashing out.Hope the shin splint soon mends.

Quiet (ish!) day at work for me, then quick coffee with friend and a supermarket shop (boring!).

Cake & book, glad to hear the little 'uns are ok Smile

Willow - I could just eat mac cheese now, love it!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 11/10/2017 13:29

Funny, I've just made mac and cheese (with bacon - always bacon) for our tea tonight. Must be the weather that means we all crave comfort food.

I am so very tired, DS is OK but tired and DH came back at 9:15pm last night with such a bad throat, he's under my feet today.

Otherwise nothing to report. Hoping to go run tonight for a bit of head space.

Have a good afternoon all.

Willow2017 · 11/10/2017 17:20

HI All

Cake do you make 'Gruffalo Crumble' too?

Did my volunteering this morning, got a few good books.

Spent way too long on pc looking at pinterest stuff! Halloween baking and decorations. DS2 keen to get baking!
Ordered a couple of body bags and hospital greens for us for our outside decorations!

Yikes just noticed the time need to get tea on.

Back later.

bookbook · 11/10/2017 19:34

Hi all
Just a quick pop in.
Been out and about today , and then picked up DGS today rather than the usual Monday, as we are staying over at DD's tonight. I am doing the school drop in invitation to see them working in class , and then a nice day out planned.
Sat comfortably while DD and son in law sort out a big grocery delivery. Glad it's not mine !
Cake of course mac and cheese has bacon in - and onions, and peas in our house :). Look after yourself and rest if possible , sounds like bugs are going around .
Willow - you obviously love halloween

Hope everyone is okay

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 11/10/2017 21:00

Hi

I've been out for a jog in the wind and rain and now nice and snuggly after a shower.

book that sounds lovely that you can go in to see DGS at school. Bet he'll be really proud to show off his work and class.

Willow crumble really isn't our thing! I know it's very British...we've got some ideas for Halloween but I've got another lot of MacMillan baking to do first (next week).

Oddly I've bought a few bits for Christmas (mostly for home postage reasons) and DD's birthday presents all sorted. Jst her party to sort out still.

Horse hope your working week isn't too busy. Is DS coming home over half term or is it not till Christmas now?

Sleep well all of you! Squirrel I hope you and the chickens are OK.

Chasingsquirrels · 11/10/2017 21:54

Busy week, well lots of doing - working more than my hours then running the boys about and more scouts accounts last night.
Parents and I laws over for tea this evening so that was nice, all just gone do have sat down to relax for the first time tonight. Bed soon.

Waving to everyone x

Horsemad · 11/10/2017 22:26

Quite a good week Cake, the boss is off Grin so I am alone and can get loads done.

DS may be home for a weekend early Nov I think. Will be great to see him Smile

Willow2017 · 11/10/2017 23:48

Cake
Gruffalo Crumble is macaroni cheese with black pudding and grilled cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Kids live it. Got the recipe years ago on Julia Donaldson website when kids were all mad on her books.

Been watching tv and the extra discs of 'The Hobbit' how they made it and bits that didn't make even the extended version. Love all that stuff.

Book enjoy going back to school. Behave 😉

Everyone seems to have been very busy today except me 😀

Have a good night all.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 12/10/2017 06:41

Ah - that makes sense now Willow Grin No thanks to that though. DH would probably love it but no one else would touch black pudding!

Squirrels it sounds like you're keeping yourself very busy which is not necessarily a bad thing, but just be careful not to be doing too much.

That would be lovely to have him home Horse Glad you're working in peace too.

I'm off for a haircut this morning and some other bits to sort out. Drama class for DD tonight. She's very excited - they're putting on a play in December.

Will come and "see" you all later. Have a good one.

Chasingsquirrels · 12/10/2017 07:38

I was wondering about gruffallo crumble as well!

Just got a bit of enthusiasm back to sort stuff cake, so am doing so - take it where it comes!

Nice without the boss horse and be good to see ds2.

Have a good time at school book.

Went to a course this morning then went into work and fell apart (sigh).
HR partner down from HO so had a chat with her, unfortunately she only seems to be down when I'm having a bad day - and I don't usually when I'm actually at work.
Course lecturer used to do an annual update and the 1st night that John and I spent together was when we went to one. Just took me back and messed with my head.
Thinking about him is fine, thinking about how much I miss what we had together is awful.

Hopefully this is just a crying day - not the start of another down period. It's odd but they are distinctly different, when I'm down I don't have any enthusiasm for anything but sometimes I just can't stop crying even though I don't feel particularly down.

Hope everyone is well.
