I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

It must be so hard for her Jane, and for you as well having to support her and deal with your own grief as well.

I don't think the snow will get as far south as where I live, but we'll be getting sleety rain. Brrrr...

It's been a difficult few months watching him fade away and DM is not always the easiest person for me to deal with so that's hard as well. Even though I'm not looking forward to Christmas I'm glad there will be family around for a while to lean on then.

Thanks for the hug Drama. I wouldn't mind snow just for Christmas afternoon and then it can go away again!

Hello Jane and Drama, nice to see you though sorry about the circumstances Jane we are here just posting about mundane things and support if you need it.

We slept! Boys are off to swimming. I'm getting shopping and cleaning...we have now got snow forecast all day but I really doubt it - agree with on Christmas eve/day and then going again

I've only done 3 cards - all to be posted to SA. He's had to crack on with a bit of supervision. I think it's ridiculously wasteful to write 30 cards but got some cheap ones and charity ones.

Horse you sound all festive now. We're doing ours next weekend too book

Selena well done for going to a party. We've been invited to DH's colleague's daughter's 21st birthday party and may well go just to take the children out (we rarely go out in the evening)

Eating my words! Snowing heavily now. DS thrilled, me not so much!

Same here! Was none an hour ago, just looked out and is snowing!

Anyway, that's decided my day as I was debating whether to go Xmas shopping or clean the house, guess I'm cleaning as I'm not going out in that!

DS1 is catching a train tonight, he was going to drive himself to the station and leave the car there but he's never driven on snow before so think DH is going to sit with him and let him drive then bring the car back. This means we have to drive back to the station tomorrow to collect him again...

No snow here - I am just going to wait until 10, see whats what, and then go to the allotment if no snow.
Then I am going to potter today - I promised to make a scarf for a homeless appeal , so thats in the mix , and I have some greenhouse stuff to do, then everyone is here for tea .

Hello Jane and Drama, good to have you back sorry life been so grim and busy. . Like book, I'm glad to be retired and out of all that work pressure and hassle - usually for nothing.

Our promised Armageddon of snow not appeared yet but freezing cold. Going to pick up collage, decided not going to look at it till Christmas day as my present to me.

We've been out and had a snow ball fight and built snowmen, finished off our cards and our baking.

The temperature has really dropped here. DS has to get bus back to college but the roads are very slippy. I also have to go and check on DM. I hate these dark evenings.

Well, DS has gone to meet his girlfriend, they will be back here tomorrow.
I need to wrap their presents while he is away overnight!

Evening all.
Shift from hell today. Not happy. Apparently i was the only one working for about an hour early pm!

They are changing my shifts again. So hopefully be better at least one day a week although its a pm shift so will have to sort out school again.
Something else happened but wont say what. It was nothing to do with me but i was basically getting the blame in a round about way.
Back and legs aching tonight spent so long on my own doing everything.

I worked my butt off yet feel one staff member has it in for me for some reason. Oh well just need a good shake and one of you to tell me to grow up😀

Long day, took ds1 to Norwich to get a bow. Weather wasn't great when we left home at 8.30am but improved as we went north and was stopped here by the time we came back at 3pm.
Archery is a bloody expensive hobby.

Hope you're keeping notes, willow? I'd feel more than a bit teary in that position too, especially not having anyone to rant at when you get home. Hugs and .

The staff member is probably jealous of you for whatever reason, and may also (benefit of doubt here) have heavy stuff going on in her life. Or else -
she's just a prat. Don't let her try to have you carry her stuff too.

No probs in her life as far as i know (and she lets us know everything!) But i am getting her shift (for a reason😉) and i think she is a bit annoyed with me although its nothing to do with me i didnt ask to change.
I suppose its a compliment to me but i could do without the agro.

Oh Willow it's such a naus when workplace relationships are tricky. I hope it improves for you, you could do without the hassle/stress.

DH & I are ON OUR OWN for the first time in a looong time. It feels a bit weird!
At the start of this year I was building upto both my DC being away from home in the autumn & it being just me & DH. DS1 scuppered that by giving up uni and he is here all the time (works from home). He rarely goes out so tonight is a novelty!

No snow at all here after all the hype.
DD and DGS came for the day, and are staying overnight, as son in law was away until tomorrow.
Cake - that sounds a fabulous day for you and the DC - hope all the lovely cold air and play will knock him out :)
Jane - hope it wasn't too scary on the slippy roads , they grit the minimum around here, and it can be hair raising at times . Hopefully your DM appreciates your efforts.

Selena - it is so nice to have some positive thoughts. It is so dark morning and evening , it makes for very long nights .
Horse its very weird when they go, and feels odd. Then they come home, and that feels odd too! .
