Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

Morning all
not surprised you are sore after yesterday Willow - hwb is good - DH has one of those heat up things, which is a bit better shape for keeping in the right spot.
Cake - do you advertise, or go on word of mouth for newbies? It is always a bit of a worry when you are self employed , even when you are good at your job. Good to hear DS had a good sleep - is he generally managing that now?
Horse - yes nithering here too.!
Just had the first flurries of snow, so allotment plans kicked down the road again , so time to turf out the living room I think today. I do have to leave the house mind - as I need to post a parcel and a couple of overseas cards
Have a good, cosy day everyone x

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 30/11/2017 12:11

oh my, snow!

His sleep is generally good at the moment touch wood but he's really overwrought with sheer exhaustion. Spoke to deputy and all sorted.

I do advertise online, but a friend who is involved in church said I should put a note up there, so will do that too now.

Just having a little sit down in the middle of cleaning. One of those days where I've lifted the rugs and hoovered under them etc. Now just the never ending dust to tackle, bathroom and hob/sink/floor and the porch floor Hmm

Take it easy Willow

bookbook · 30/11/2017 14:05

Afternoon!
braved the shops this morning, and made sure I had everything I needed :)
Sounds very busy there Cake - poor DS has a lot of rest to catch up on, poor mite.
Well, this morning was just flurries of snow, but it is just settling in to steady 'laying' snow now. We have always had snow here - it is an odd year when we don't , but it is much less than we used to - (I have pictures of both DD's playing when the snow was piled up half way up the doors,) Ran out and topped up all the bird food, made sure there was water, and added a few mealworms as a treat . It was a tweak cold, but starting to look pretty :)

Afternoon.

Well have done lots today...lots of sitting around with my trusty hwb on my back.😀 have done the bare minimum made new dentists appoints, ordered cooker and gagged at the extra cost of fitting, taking old one and packaging away😲😲😲
Hidden ds1's xmas game that arrived this am only just ordered it last pm! Oh heck just remembered have to go to collect the other one.

Oh and get kids an advent callender! Forgot on tues. Maybe they will be cheaper now😀
Leftovers for tea with baked pots.
Got annoying cough too think ds2 has passed it on.

No snow but rain and qiite windy and bitter cold now.
Book that reminds me will get kids to do bird feeders tomorrow.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 30/11/2017 18:00

I need to go out again now to collect DD from drama group. It feels cold enough for snow but last time we had proper snow was when DS was a baby - the week between Christmas and new year or even Christmas day would be amazing order placed Wink

Rest up Willow

Horsemad · 30/11/2017 21:28

We had snow too but it didn't really settle - was more wet, slushy stuff.
Hope it is ok tomorrow when I collect DS from the station as it's a 60mile round trip!

Cake, apart from footy on Saturday, we have no plans. Will just cook some decent food for him and feed him up! Grin

Willow, glad you are listening to your body and not overdoing things; it is frustrating I'm sure but will take longer to get right if you push yourself too hard.

Willow2017 · 30/11/2017 23:00

Evening all.
Havent done much this pm either!
Work txt to ask if I could work tomorrow! But am cm so thats out anyway. Think Sat will be quick enough. (Actually dreading it but needs must) Thinking about work the teen who works there weekends was coughing all over everything so probably picked up my cold at work! Had to remind them to cough into their arm crook or get a tissue! Throat is getting really sore with raspy cough someone has it in for me up there Wink

We had a shower of hail for a while but wet and not lying thank goodness

Horse thats a long trip hope the weather is fine for you. Will be great to have him home for the weekend though.

Have a good night folks.

Chasingsquirrels · 01/12/2017 08:47

Morning all - another full on Thursday yesterday, although had meet the form teacher for ds2 instead of joggers. That was running late - to be expected when they only allocate 5 minutes per child so back home for half an hour then out with ds1 to archery (at the same school).
Got a course this morning, which will hopefully be better than Monday then we are collecting Charlie.

Hope you are feeling a bit easier Willow, my mum had sciatica over the summer and it wasn't much fun.

60 miles round trip to the station horse! Have a lovely weekend with him.

Hope you manage to find the right mindee soon cake.

Have a lovely day book.

Sleet here last night and I put the car in the garage but just cold and wet and miserable hens this morning.

Morning all!
Gorgeous bright sunshine, but the snow which laid had a little bit added to it, and it froze overnight into solid ice , so it looks lovely , but no allotment

Ah well, back to the housework grindstone I guess!
Horse enjoy having DS home . Wrap up for the footie!
Willow - hoping your back is easing, but it's a slow process. New cooker for Christmas yay!! ( but yes, its a disgrace about fitting etc - I think that is where they make the profits...)
Chasing - chasing around - its such a time eater. But you get Charlie on Monday! That wait has gone quickly :)
Cake - I will wish hard for you so you have the snow :) ( I should say it has rarely snowed over Christmas here - it mostly comes in at the end of January through February)
Have a lovely day all

Chasingsquirrels · 01/12/2017 11:06

Course much better than Monday, and collecting Charlie is after school today (think I worded last post badly) Grin

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 01/12/2017 11:37

Aaaaw, happy Charlie collection day! The worst bit about kids are having to be in so many places - especially when it's all on you.

DS slept till 6:45 this morning which is just typical so a rush to get ready and advent calendars and mufti day. I sat down with my book and a hot choc for a bit and then saw a friend quickly for a catch up.

Not much else to report. Willow how is your back? Work tomorrow?? (hope not)

book I'm sure you'll find something to keep you occupied Grin

Horse have a fantastic weekend.

Willow2017 · 01/12/2017 11:51

Morning
Been and collected parcel, got a pile of heatpads and managed to get advent calendars yeah. Had xmassy coffee and a read 😀

Sitting down for a cuppa before putting stuff in attic and running walking slowly round with hoover.

Yes Cake am working tomorrow i cant afford not to but also don't want to p them off seeing as i just started😀 will try to take it easy so hopefully staff will have some sympathy for me. I have stick on heat pads so will wear tshirt under top and stick one to that, fingers crossed it helps.

Wet here and sleety overnight but sun shining now.

Squirrels ooooh 'Charlie' day how exciting.

Chasingsquirrels · 01/12/2017 15:50

Can't collect Charlie (3 of the pups including him have had a mishap).
I'm almost certain he is going to be okay, but I'm much much more emotional since John died and the whole Charlie thing has been a bit emotionally fraught for me as we wouldn't be getting him if John hadn't died, and it's part of our lives moving forward without him etc. Took the call at work and then fell apart on lovely receptionist.
Then had to collect the boys (as planned to go and get him direct from school) and tell them. Ds2 ran down towards the car with such a beaming face, and then crumpled when I told them.
Am in a bit of a mess at the moment.

Willow2017 · 01/12/2017 16:10

Oh Squirrels what a shame. Hope its all resolved and he is fine pdq. Poor you and family. ((Hugs))

Horsemad · 01/12/2017 18:51

Oh chasing, what happened? PM if you'd rather not put it on a public forum.
I hope he's going to be ok.

I am waiting for DS at the train station ☺️

Chasingsquirrels · 01/12/2017 19:19

Breeder called and he's eating and drinking well although he's a bit dribbly / more saliva than normal. Vet was pleased with progress and hopefully he won't need any further treatment (had antibiotic and painkiller shots yesterday), but will see again tomorrow and as long as no further treatment needed we should be bringing him home in the middle of next week.
Not a great experience for anyone, but one thing it has reassured me about is that the breeder isn't a front for anyone - I followed all the recommended steps but I guess you can never be 100% sure - however if she didn't have the puppies best interested at heart she could have just let us pick him up and not said anything.
Massively triggering for me though, not cried as much as I have this afternoon for quite some time.

Have a lovely weekend with him horse and I hope the wait isn't / wasn't too long.

OP posts:
TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 01/12/2017 21:02

Oh no Squirrel that sounds devastating for all you. Hoping that the treatment does the trick and you have him home with you soon. (((hugs))) and Wine

Good luck for tomorrow Willow

Have a great time Horse

Hope you had a good day book

bookbook · 01/12/2017 21:45

Evening all!
Not quite sure where the time went there.
Faffed nearly all day - but ironing done, living room tidy if you squint a bit.
A lot of time taken up with sorting out some new WH squares . Sad that they are needed, but so glad I can do a small thing. I think I have bitten off more than I can chew on one square, but putting it down to mull over for the time being.
Chasing- oh no - I do hope Charlie is okay, and much better to wait and see - that to me does sound like a good breeder. But what a sad day for you all , after the build up to going to fetch him.
Horse - hope you didn't have too long a wait in the cold.
Willow - hows the back - are you sure you can go back tomorrow?
You reminded me t go and find my advent calendar. :)
I am looking forward to tomorrow. I am out with my girls for the day , lunch out, make up /clothes/christmas shopping/giggling then out for a nice evening meal with them , along with DH, and son in law ( not sadly DD2 's partner - he's a bit antisocial )

bookbook · 02/12/2017 09:12

Morning all!
A much better day today - not so cold, but still snow on the ground.
Just about to get ready to go.
I forgot to say - DD went to see the Doc about her foot, and she can go back to work on Monday . She just had to make sure she could do an emergency stop, and she can drive too. No need for the big black support boot either. :) She does need to use a crutch while walking though, so we had to rearrange our day out to be less walking around. Not that it matters , we will have a good time anyway .
Hope everyone is okay and has a good day

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/12/2017 14:56

Hope you're having a great girly day book Glad the foot is better.

Any Charlie news Squirrel? Everything crossed.

Willow hope you survive work.

I survived driving 3 girls over to the next town, shopping while they had their party and driving back, dropping them off on the way home. Hoping this is the sort of thing that will keep me involved in DD's life/friendship group.

The town was so busy, I found it really stressful, but got a few good bits.

Hope you're having a great weekend horse and Selena how are things?

Willow2017 · 02/12/2017 18:55

Horsemad · 02/12/2017 20:26

Hello All Smile

Busy day here; hairdressers, watched my boy play footy and then the pub afterwards.

Takeaway for tea followed by SCD - perfect evening! Wink

DS has gone to bed Hmm Students eh?! He'll get up at 10pm, wanting to go out..

Hope Charlie's ok chasing. Glad work went well Willow. How was the shopping book? I've got to do more Xmas shopping tomorrow.
Aah, the 'party run' Cake... I remember it well!

bookbook · 03/12/2017 11:49

Morning all!
absolutely lovely here this morning. Sun shining, and melting the last of the snow. Done a good mornings work at the allotment.
Yesterday was lovely - barely bought any presents, but did succumb to some lovely tree decorations. Looked at a lot of stuff. DD was a bit disappointed- she spoke to one of the managers in the big M&S - she has been looking for a Christmas top for DGS. They were dire in there., just grey/black, dreary. Now - if you had a girl , no problem, racks of the stuff. So she had a long chat , (not angrily, but a bit sad). Anyway - later on , manager found us, and gave her a box of chocolates, to say sorry and thank you for the feedback! We had a fabulous meal out on the evening too, so really needed this mornings work , to make up for last night :)
Cake - thats how you keep up with things. Keeping quiet and letting them chatter around you. Its surprising what they talk about!
Willow - hope today isn't as bad as you fear .
Horse - that sounds about right re DS!
Right - off to dash under the shower. This afternoon watch SCD that I taped last night
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 03/12/2017 20:51

Evening

Am shattered long busy shift. All that cleaning at the end is not good 😉
Should have had another person on but they cant seem to sort out thier shifts at all. Getting better at things though and was complemented last pm on how well i am doing considering how long i have been there. Must be doing something right😉 even though I think I will never get some things right.

Sounds like everyone having good days. Nice gesture to your dd Book but she is right boys clothes are sometimes awful and in short supply..
Horse bless him all that 'studying' must be tiring😉

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 03/12/2017 21:33

Hello, just a quick check in before tooth fairy duties...

Willow I hope you're not working tomorrow and that you won't suffer too much for this weekend's work.

Book sounds good, but I agree about boys clothing fwiw we got DS his jumper from sainsburys - blue with a Rudolph that flashes and plays a tune :)

Horse hope you've managed to wave DS off without a tear. Not long till Christmas now.

Really hoping you, the boys and Charlie is OK squirrel. Sending positive vibes xxx
