Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

Good news on the washer willow, hope the car was okay.

Drama horse! Hopefully it will pan out and improve.

Productive few days at work which is good.
Scouts meeting tonight (I'm treasurer) for which I need to finish a few bits - but I sat down and am knackered. Need to do tea for when ds1 gets back from helping at Beavers so we can all eat before I go out. Not sure what's happened to boys cooking on a Wednesday this half term - next week!

Afternoon all
sat down at last .
Like you Chasing - really not sure where the days are going at the moment. But it does seem as if you are going forward a bit - the puppy will take up a lot of time , and head space!
wow Horse - I take it you don't want the job? I'm presuming really big boss saw how badly she was managing and laid it on the line!
Willow - yay- new washer - it will probably be cheaper to run, and do a better job. Poor car - hope it's okay we are incredibly lucky that we have a local man does our car ( well, about 3 miles away) - being a family firm , we take the car in , and his wife drops us off back home and picks us up when its done. Saves a lot of hassle all round :)
Cake - ah, we do like a Christmas pudding , and a good fruit cake ( eaten with cheese :)) It's still i the oven as I speak - after 4 hours, its now popping to look every 10 minutes until it feels right! Its a bit stressful !
Right off now
have a good evening

Willow2017 · 08/11/2017 21:57

Evening all.
Car not too bad new exhaust as i suspected he couldn't patch it up it wouldn't play fair 😁
Usually he will give me a lift home too Book if they are not busy but he was just back with recovery lorry and they were short handed this morning. Known him most of my life parents used him too. He brought car back in time to pick up kids and drop him back at garage but went round by school as he thought we might not have time to take him back first lovely bloke. 😀
Washer seems to be working well, so quiet too.

Horse curiouser and curiouser🤔

Squirrels and Book busy as usual you are always on the go.

Kids had forgotten theur cards for school lunches so were starving so we went to morrisons for tea. Then had a mooch ariund just to see if anything caught our fancy. Unfortunately some delish puddings did😉 and some chestnuts and some salted caramel nuts (also delish i had to try 4 or 5 as have a bag to put away for xmas😉) then as we wete heading home i had a flash of inspiration and realised it was tkd night. Luckily we had plenty time. What a numpty we were sitting talking about his teacher during the meal!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 09/11/2017 07:06

Hello everyone, you all sound very busy. Willow I figure our brains get so full of stuff that on the odd occasion there is just no room for everything!

book I hope the cake came out well and I'm sure you're a dab hand at it by now.

horse can you go for her job/would you want it?

Squirrel hope you're coping with the busy week.

I feel like I just want to hibernate. Nothing i can put my finger on and that makes it worse as I have so much to be grateful for. Hopefully hormonal and will pass. Got my Epsom salt (finally) so just need to soak my feet now. Might pick up some Vit D on Friday when in town too.

Chasingsquirrels · 09/11/2017 07:26

It's hibernation time of year cake.
Soooo cold in be last night - used to John warming my cold feet up in winter Sad.
Then so snuggly in the morning I don't want to get up. Ds2 turned the light on for me after he came in for a cuddle but I'm still hunkered down....

Morning all
a bit more grey here this morning, but dry at least, so heading off to the allotment after getting the washing hung out.
Willow - ah, thats the sort of garage I like - and not too bad on the cost by sounds . Good to hear the washing machine is getting a good work out, and doing a good job :)
Cake - my cake looks okay -fingers crossed :) its all in the cutting -( in about 6 weeks time!) - my DH hates winter - he doesn't like the cold, and gets SAD too. We bought a big daylight reading light. It's an ugly thing, but very good for sewing/crotchet as well as reading. You can get light boxes too. Maybe worth looking at .
Chasing - there is nothing like feeling warm and cosy in bed in a morning, as long as there isn't a rush to get up. I get cold feet too, but I cannot wear bed socks . I did try, but they drove me mad once my feet had warmed up .
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 09/11/2017 10:46

Morning all.
Been lazy this morning all had long lies and am trying to persuade myself to get in shower and get moving😀
Sun shining and not so cold as yesterday.
Give me a swift kick to get me moving please. Need to get my cake done too. Just do a small one these days as kids dont like xmas cake but i do so i keep up the tradition. Will make something for them with ds2 . I find all those lovely cakes in shops at xmas look good but are invariably dry sponge and over sweet icing. Never as nice as they look.

Horsemad · 09/11/2017 12:05

No kicks from me Willow Grin you deserve a lie in!

I am waiting to hear if there are any more departures from work! As for me doing the boss's job - no way! She got paid twice as much as me but the stress is ridiculous and I prefer to spend my nights asleep, not stressing over work!

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

Chasingsquirrels · 09/11/2017 17:20

Well I do have to get up for work book, but as long as I get there no one seems to bother whether it 9.30am or nearer to 10am. I just stay later.
Was ready before the boys left this morning, finished off the ironing and was in work for 9.30am. Worked till 3.30pm ish, went to Aldi on the way home and spent £60 - usually spend about £30-£40, no wonder the trolley was overflowing! Then home, unpacked shopping with boys, had some toast and off out again taking them to joggers then archery shortly.
Had a really productive week work wise, head down and ploughed through things which is good. Hopefully another couple of weeks like that and I'll be on top of things and can take some time off in December when we get Charlie.
My mum or dad are going to come over for an hour or so in the middle of the day when I'm at work for the first couple of months, so with shorter hours he won't be on his own for too long and then we can work up to longer periods when he is older, but even then I only work a short day and the boys are home by 3.30pm.

Hopefully when you get back to work it will all be settled horse.
Nice lie in Willow

Hi all

Fairly productive day, including a foot soak with the epsom salt.

Sorry your feet are missing John too Squirrel Was it your wedding band on the S&B thread? It's lovely!

What is everyone up to tomorrow? i need to bake 2 layers of birthday cake and meeting a friend to get party bag tat.

Sleep well x

Chasingsquirrels · 09/11/2017 23:26

Sounds good cake
Yes that's my wedding ring - didn't get an engagement ring just decided we were getting married and sorted that. Then he was diagnosed and I knew we'd not have long and I wanted something I'd happily wear on another finger at some point, and something a bit different. Still wearing it on wedding ring finger atm.

Oh thats lovely Squirrels i prefer silver or platinum to gold myself.

Had coffee and cake with kids before optician appoint. Ds1 getting glasses but low prescription for school. Apparently is becoming more common with use of whiteboards to have kids presenting with myopia who knew? He called it school myopia!
Quiet night here.
Been sitting watching a film of one of my fav dean koontz books i didnt know had been made into a film. Saw it was coming on by chance. Really need to go to bed its 1.30 and its the grand kids bedroom blitz tomorrow 😁😲😷 (Blitz blitz a bedroom blitz....sorry 'Sweet' i couldnt resist)

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 10/11/2017 06:15

Morning. 5am start to cheer my up Hmm

I love Dean Koontz - currently reading one.

Happy Friday x

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 10/11/2017 06:27

*me clearly not awake yet!

Chasingsquirrels · 10/11/2017 07:44

Yawn cake, hope the day improves.

Are the kids off or are you blitz-inv yourself Willow?

Currently trying to persuade myself to leave the warm snugglines of my bed

OP posts:
bookbook · 10/11/2017 08:54

Morning all
lovely ring Chasing - and lovely manicure too

I am being very lazy - sat in dressing gown drinking tea. I have washing to hang out - at least its rather windy at the moment, so should dry .
Horse - that is the trouble with losing the boss - who comes in to take over the position - hope its someone who manages better!
Willow - lets hope the glasses do their trick - I've not heard of school myopia , but must be a problem . Hope you get out of the bedrooms alive
*Cake - oh no , its almost worse at that time if you have had a couple of (nearly) normal wake ups . Hope you can cope through the day.
I'm not sure what I am doing today - will be off to allotment this morning. We have a roofer man coming to look at a couple of loose ridge tiles , but DH can sort that .
I have a quick trip out this afternoon. I have known a lady for years , not well but we always have talked about knitting and crafts. I saw her this week for the first time in about a year, and got chatting, and I mentioned the Woolly Hugs I do now . She has asked me around to her house to take some of her wool so it can be used for something 'useful' as she is having real trouble now with a neurological problem which means she cannot see too well, and her hands won't work properly. It's a bit heartbreaking ...
Other than that , just about under control . I finished planting out every bulb and plant that needed sorting yesterday. Did a lot of leaf raking, but a lot more to do, and with a bit of luck , the grass may be dry enough to cut .
Have a good day all x

Horsemad · 10/11/2017 20:13

I love your wedding band chasing, very pretty. Mine's yellow gold, plain band, over the years my tastes have changed & I really like platinum now.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 10/11/2017 20:30

Hello, yes survived, just sat down! The boy has a cold again...

Met a friend, got party bag tat and had a good catch up. Came home and baked 2 choc sponges. They're in the freezer. Tomorrow I will be doing 2 vanilla. Then had another go at the s*dding unicorn wings that DD wanted but I said I'm not doing! Hoping they work as it has taken 2 1/4 hours to get to this stage.

Tastes do change horse it's only because you and DH have been together such a long time! My mum had her engagement ring completely redone when I was about 10. They've just celebrated 42 years so didn't jinx it Grin

Oh that's sad book but glad you can make use of it so at least she feels it's got a purpose.

Hope you all sleep well and have a lovely Saturday.

Willow2017 · 10/11/2017 22:10

Evening all. Blitzing done exept from hoovering stupid hoover decided it was blocked again. Couldnt be bothered to sort it out after hours cleaning that room!! Boys 'helped' but takes them twice as long to do anything😀 oh well a bag full of junk, empty boxes up in loft, books to go to charity shop, toys to sell and bag of recycling, can see the floor and out the window😀 it was worth it. Downside was i was aching by end of it. Had a heat pad on my arm and a lie down on sofa afterwards. 😀
Did plan to scrub cooker but was too achey. Washer still working!

Book thats sad about your friend but its good that she wants you to use up her wool for her.

Cake very busy day! How do you do it after such an early start?

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 11/11/2017 06:50

Wow Willow that's hardly slacking either!

I guess I have youth on my side Wink Hmm

We had an awful night full of coughing...but he's already asked what we're doing today! Think the answer is letting the grown ups sleep in turn! Might pack the boys off to soft play and the shop.

Are you working today?

horse how is the recovery going? Have you braved shopping with DH again???

Willow2017 · 11/11/2017 08:09

Ds2 has swimming then I am working till 5.

Didn't sleep well woke up twice and didn't get back to sleep straight away. Could just crawl back to bed😕 but will just kbo.

Willow2017 · 11/11/2017 08:13

Oh bother this phone!

Take it easy today Cake you deserve to.

Very frosty this morning too cold to go out😉
Have a good day ladies.

bookbook · 11/11/2017 08:24

Morning all
evening got away with me last night , wanted to finish a little blanket.
Cake - unicorn wings ? how are you possibly making those? Aw , and coughing all night too - poor DS, and poor you ( I sometimes think listening to someone else cough is worse than having a cough IYSWIM) . Hope his cold clears up quickly.
Willow - you are wearing yourself out, take it steady now .
Not sure what is happening today - I have to go through my material stash . Just found out DGS is an owl in the Christmas play :) - so DD made an owl mask from felt last night, and I will make a cape, with a loop at each end to go through a finger. Not too sure I have any brown mind ..so after I have checked , I may have to drive to town to find some, so will do some shopping while I'm there if so.
Have a good day x

Flyingprettycretonnecurtains · 11/11/2017 08:40

Oooooooo Squirrel, do you do archery? I need to blow the dust off my bow soon but they've given rain this morning and I am feeling feek and weeble after first two days back at work after radiotherapy. Your ring is lovely.

Sorry, bit of a gate crash. Hello (gives faint wave and shuffles awkwardly away to ensure Tall Son goes to his work - why do they leave getting dressed to the last minute?)
