Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

aaaaaaaaawwwwwwww Wink he's lovely! And who said dogs aren't for Christmas Grin

We generally have. DD is giving me lots of lip generally and butting heads over homework, but on the whole, it's been a good one.

Check in with you all tomorrow, sleep well.
Have a good week everyone.

Willow2017 · 05/11/2017 22:37

Squirrels
OOOOhhhh he is lovely Grin
What are you calling him?
Good job on the selling, nothing of mine on the other side, has sparked any interest so far! Must try this facebook malarky!

BUSY shift for most of it. Spent first 2 hours non stop! Felt like 5 hrs!

Did get quieter thankfully and few people late on so got all stuff cleaned up in time to leave on time. Shift change tomorrow and extra hours on Saturday but extra £ never goes amiss Smile

Have taken the plunge and ordered a new washing machine, mine decided to imprint sets of black dots (possible in the pattern of holes in the drum??) on kids white polo school shirts and streaks of black on TKD suit! And not ending cycles properly. Its coming Wed yeah!

Cake you have been busy, I forgot it was Bonfire night! Sounds like a good day, apart from DD Wink My teen and I are like that, feel your pain.

Have a good night all.

Chasingsquirrels · 05/11/2017 23:25

Apparently he is going to be called Charlie, and ds1 (who I didn't think was really interested) seems to think it is his dog and will be sleeping in his bedroom - who knew!
I caused uproar when I said, and maintained, that dogs don't go upstairs in our family.

Willow2017 · 05/11/2017 23:34

Aww, thats a great name. THink you have a battle on your hands there Squirrels Grin

Horsemad · 06/11/2017 00:12

Hope that pans out chasing - none of my cats have ever been allowed in the bedrooms but the cat that adopted us 5 yrs ago has us all wrapped round her little paw Grin and can usually be found in one of the bedrooms, enjoying bucking the trend!

I don't know how she does it, except that she is super sweet and cute of course Wink

Love your pup's name, suits him!

Willow2017 · 06/11/2017 09:11

Morning all.
Day has gone to pot again!
Ds1 not well not sure whats wrong but he is talking nonsense. He dies this when he is ill but hasnt happened in a while. Shopping out the window now. Just letting him sleep it off and checking on him. He did come through about 5.30 saying he felt sick but hasnt been so far.
No coffee for me this morning😐
Oh well need to get m.o.t booked.
Housework day until work oh joy.

bookbook · 06/11/2017 09:43

Morning all
very frosty here this morning - glad I don't have an early out the door day
Chasing - a few ground rules eh? :) When do you actually get to take him home?
Willow - hope DS is okay - my DD1 did that sometimes when ill with high temp .
Horse - my cat wasn't allowed upstairs either, but if I left a door open by accident as we were going out, you could see her sat on the bedroom windowsill with a big smile !
Bits and pieces this morning, then out straight after lunch to do a quick drop into the shops before picking up DGS .
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 06/11/2017 11:01

Book
No temp, quite the opposite. Been looking it up online and discovered its a sleep disorder, can be common in teens. Will just have to see if it passes, he has been lucid then stroppy again! Just one more thing to worry about. Need to sort out a proper sleep pattern for him etc etc etc. Back to the drawing board. Probably overstimulated before bed as was playing computer games while I was at work so probably on way too long. Just gpoing to leave him to sleep a bit longer then try to get him up and about if he is lucid.

Very frosty here this morning too. Still cold, have heating on low.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 06/11/2017 13:22

Hello

What a cold but beautiful day. Have had a reasonable start with everyone up and out at the right time and the little ones and I had a good morning. Just cleared up from lunch, stuck washing in and doing some admin Blush honest Grin

Hope DS1 is ok Willow, sounds a bit scary!

Hope you have a good shopping session book All the shops are full of Christmas stuff now.

Squirrel he is gorgeous and a lovely name to suit. Good luck with it all Grin look forward to puppy updates.

How are you doing horse? Hope the stress levels have evened out.
x

Willow2017 · 06/11/2017 14:54

Got DS up around 11. Took some persuading but he is fine now. Sent him to the shop for some fresh air Smile

Getting colder now, brought washing in as think its not going to dry any more. Had call from AO about delivery details and of course selling me insurance on it. It has a 5 year guarentee so havent decided if I really need it yet, I would hope that its not going to go wrong quickly! Apparently they will text me at 7am to tell me my time slot...thanks a bunch will be just deciding I need to get up then, wont be awake enough to read a txt!

Seems strange to be doing stuff all day then going to work, not entirely loving that aspect of it but its fine once I get there. Smile

Got an email saying I had been selected for interview for Morrisons but had to do a video interview first! I had to go online, register, then download a flipping app for my phone then do an interview on it! Get lost! What the heck, its only for the run up to Xmas staff! Anyway today was deadline so missed it. Whatever happened to actually speaking to people face to face in the workplace? I am getting too old for this malarky!

Horsemad · 06/11/2017 15:24

Oh everything's like that these days Willow, drives me mad; where's the 'human' touch eh?!
Hope your DS is ok and whatever it was doesn't reoccurr.

Cake! I have got my dressing off, hurrah! Grin Got a massive scar though Shock - still, it's on my back, so at least I can't see it Grin Been told to massage it with Bio oil, won't be able to reach & not sure DH will be keen. I wouldn't like to do it (bit squeamish!!).

I cannot believe the first week of Nov has almost gone! Can't even begin to think about Xmas, but going to have to... I might get everyone vouchers this year - very unimaginative, I know. Hmm

Somerville · 06/11/2017 15:28

Hello all.
Juggling work and 4 children doesn't leave much time for MN, I've found, unfortunately.
But... PUPPY!!
How cute is he, Squirrels my dear. Enjoy him.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 06/11/2017 17:43

Hello Somer how lovely to see you. Hope you're enjoying it!

What the hell Willow????

Whooohooo Horse maybe let it heal another week and then get DH on the job. He can always use a cotton wool pad or something if he doesn't want to touch it directly.

Survived mostly. DD has lost her locker key now...2 weeks after losing the lanyard, key and purse all in one go. FFS, not sure what I'm meant to do with her!

Going to eat half the pinata fun size chocs as there's too much Wink

Willow2017 · 07/11/2017 14:36

Afternoon all.
Busy day here. Shopping first thing (managed my half hour reading my book first😉) then food shop. Got indoor cage for guinea pigs as no room in garage now. Had to pull out all the cm stuff i had stacked up in front of patio doors out way then found bottom of doors starting to get mouldy so cue scrubbing them all down took some cm stuff upstairs out way and got gps settled in.

Hung up 2 million socks to dry😀 been trying to do necessities only in wash but have missed socks!! cue mad scramble for a pair of school socks this morning😀
Phew! Could do without going to work soon would rather have a nap ha ha.
Hope you are all having good days. Roll on 8pm😉

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 07/11/2017 15:18

That's a full on day Willow

Done very little today really. DS had a great report from teacher at parents "eve" so that's always good.

Hope everyone else is OK x

bookbook · 07/11/2017 17:37

Afternoon all
Just a quick sit down, now evening meal is prepped and in the oven .
Willow - your life is like a soap ( no pun on washing machines intended!) Infuriating about soulless interviews though - cheap for them I presume
Horse - hope the scar isn't too itchy. I had a mole cut out, and had to massage E45 into every day to reduce scarring. It does work , so worth seeing if DH will do it for you :)
Cake - aren't all locker keys mostly the same , or do you have to pay a fine? So not sure what you can do - too old to have string through her coat sleeves with all the relevant stuff tied on like mittens I suppose?

Somer - surprised you have time to type!
Just been busy with bits and pieces. It was actually quite warm this morning , but windy , so until the rain arrived ( about 11) I was in the garden, doing spring pots for both DD's and a trough for the side of my new decking step. Was just about to start raking leaves when it started to rain, so the washing didn't get dry either.
I have just put my fruit to soak , ready to make the Christmas cake tomorrow. I had a small smile - we really don't drink much here - the very odd glass of wine. So my soaking/cooking alcohol is limited to presents given to DH when he retired. So I had a bit of Courvoisier left- and I added cold tea to make up the volume . Now I have one unopened bottle of Remy Martin - I had to draw the line somewhere - it really isn't cooking alcohol Grin.
Have a good evening all x

Chasingsquirrels · 08/11/2017 08:32

When did life get so busy? Or maybe I'm spending less time wallowing in grief. I'm not sure, although work has definitely ramped up.
Working fuller days atm to clear surf and hopefully let me do some shorter days in Dec when we have got Charlie.

I've been reading but just not found the time to post.

book your lack of alcohol for the Christmas cake made me smile, I don't drink and now have a cupboard full of wine, plus a few bottles of port & gin. They, like the rest of John's things that I can't deal with yet, will just have to wait. At least alcohol will be consumed by someone at some point!
horse I'm feeling for you on the itching.
cake glad the teacher-parent meet was good.
Willow you are so busy, you don't need the other crap going on. Interview process for Xmas hours seems massive overkill.
Somer nice to hear from you.

Off to work - hope everyone has a good day.

Morning.
Wow Horse wonder whats going on!

My 'soap opera' kept going this morning! Dropped kids off at school dropped car at garage and pgoned for a taxi home. An hour later finally got a bus going my way!!! Was frozen to the marrow! No taxis either not answering or too busy and had to wait nearly an hour for a bus home. Not a happy bunny.
Washing machine coming between 11 and 3! Helpful😀😀
Having toast and cuppa to recover😉

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 08/11/2017 13:25

Oh wow Resigned without a job sounds like pushed. Hurrah though! Can only get better Brew for this time of the day Gin for later...

Hope you've warmed up now Willow and that you've got a shiny new washer.

Squirrel time seems to speed up at this time of year anyway. Hope that you aren't doing too much. How are the WAY meet ups going? Helping?

book I believe it's £5 for a new one, so I've said she'll have to have packed lunch on Friday to fund it. She is too old for all that but she's away with the fairies a lot and not sure if part of it is the dyslexia or not.

Hope the Christmas cake came out nicely. None of us heathens here like Christmas cake/pudding/wedding cake. I will just bake something Christmas themed.

Had a good morning out with a friend and the smalls. Catch you all later x

Willow2017 · 08/11/2017 13:55

Cake got my shiney new machine Grin
Its working as we speak. It took them about 15 minutes to take out the old one, put in the new one and test it! Took me longer to scrub the floor where the old one was as it was bigger and thick layer of muck where it was! But on the plus side I am 26p richer as money had fallen down the side of it Smile

Waiting on a call to say my car is ready, getting nervous as usually all done by now...need it by 3 ish to go get kids. They are off next 2 days, ds1 has optician appointment tomorrow afternoon as saying he has trouble if sitting at back of class seeing the board. Fingers crossed its nothing much.
Might run away to my aunts on friday if she isnt doing anything (87 and a busy social life its not fair!) as working all weekend.

Talking of school lockers. Really hard frost this morning, bleeding cold and ds2 didnt want to wear his big coat as its very difficult to get it in locker with pe kit and they arent allowed to wear them in school at all...what use is a locker then?

Horsemad · 08/11/2017 16:43

Wine to new machine Willow, hope you have many trouble free years with it! Grin

Spoke to my (ex) boss - she had a huge row with Really Big Boss and decided to resign! Can't quite believe she's already gone - was told to clear her desk that day.

Not sure what will happen in the short term but long term I guess this means a new boss for me... Hmm

Hey ho, all good fun at our place not
