Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

No banners here but I did install an ad blocker a while back when the ads were getting intrusive.

Fingers crossed that you had another good night cake.

Good to hear that ds2 is going well Willow, always nice to have a positive parent-teacher meet.

Lots of interest in the hot wheels stuff and people coming to collect at the weekend - hope they turn up.
I sold the Freeview boxes, only £3 each but better than cluttering up my house getting older and even more obselete.

Ds1 did his black arrow theory last night and got his badge, so I came away £24 poorer having paid for the monthly bow hire and badge. Expensive hobby! They have organised a group visit to an archery shop in Norwich which is going to open on a Sunday for us, so will get his bow in a few weeks which will be expensive - but it's a joint birthday present with his dad and he is going to buy the accessories with other birthday money.

Definitely not planning on working extra hours for nothing. I never have really. I think I am good at my job and I do the best I can in the time I am paid for. But the business is making money out of my time, if they want more of it they can pay me for it. I am happy to be as flexible as I can be over when I work my hours and I don't mind a little bit extra now and again but not a significant amount on a regular basis. I had a chat with my direct partner yesterday and he is going to talk to HR about a couple of options.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I've been checking out the WH thread for CTK and Wow! is all I can say!

Some very talented people on there, that's for sure. book, I loved the butterflies Smile

bookbook · 03/11/2017 11:10

Morning all
Just got back in from a stint at the allotment. A cup of coffee and then making a big pan of soup for tea, so I can sit and crotchet this afternoon.
The floating ad is weird - it doesn't seem that big, but it covers the post I have bookmarked so a bit annoying . I'm sure it will get sorted.
Horse there are some amazing crafters no doubt about it - and thank you - though I did re do the one with two butterflies on it ( it just wasn't right colour wise , so I re did them :) ) . I love doing them , gives me a real sense of personal satisfaction, doing a small thing as part of a big thing , if that makes sense?

Willow2017 · 03/11/2017 12:25

Afternoon all.
Faffy day doing 'stuff'.
At job centre (hopefully last time!) and bank. Done my tax return (at last!) Hate that form with a passion can never remember my password and have to ask for a new one! Done an advert for all my childminding stuff for my Dev officer to pass around everyone, fingers crossed..I want it gone!

Soon be time to go for kids and mindee so peace will be shattered.

Dreich day here, have washing out but not hopefull it will dry. Damm cold too.

Shift last night pretty 'mehh' still feel like a spare part sometimes, people I was on with not talkative so felt like a longer shift. Not too busy either just looking for jobs to do! But it will get better I am sure.

KBO Smile

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 03/11/2017 13:22

Hello all

A much more positive day - could be the sunshine. Did school run, food shopping, washing and cleaning. Going to take smalls to the park for a run around and then pizza for tea.

Glad you've spoken to HR Squirrel Gosh, I thought DD and DSs activities were expensive! Shock

What soup book? I had BNS and bacon for lunch

Horse how are you doing now? A bit more up and about?

Hope that all the stuff sells Willow fistbump on the tax return Grin

catch up with you all later x

bookbook · 03/11/2017 19:03

Evening all
Just a quick pop in.
Soup was sort of minestrone ( because it varies depending on what veg I have picked) - basically small diced veg with fresh tomatoes, with added butter beans . Afterwards a lot- of cheese and biscuits, which we love.
Ben a bit poor weather wise here too , so towels not really dried.
Sat with a cup of tea, and then back to crotchet for the evening.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 04/11/2017 06:59

Hi

Sounds lovely book (especially the cheese) Wink

11 hours of sleep for DS which is good.

So disappointed with last night's HIGNFY that I've joined the MN collective who have complained to the BBC. Sad Angry

Out for fair/fireworks tonight. I'm hoping it will be dry! Have a good one x

Chasingsquirrels · 04/11/2017 07:52

A good night cake, hope it's dry for your fireworks - are you going to the Legoland ones?

Hope everything is healing well after your op horsemad and you aren't so fed up.

Sounds like you are getting sorted Willow, hope the CM stuff shifts quickly.

Lots of interest in the boys hot wheels stuff, hopefully some collections over the weekend and money for them.

And, we are going to see a puppy today - hopefully a new addition to our family (another reason for not being sure I want to increase my hours atm).
I'd been thinking about it and separately DS2 has started saying. He would love one and has been somewhat like a dog with a bone about it, lots of family discussions, then me having a stroppy fit because he was nagging so much.
He's not mentioned it since then which has given me headspace to think it through rationally.
I grew up with a dog, and exH and I had one - she died the year we split.
At that time I didn't consider another as 2 small children on my own and the devestation of the separation was enough to cope with.
Then when John and I got together, he wouldn't have really wanted a dog (he'd had them growing up, plus with his ex-wife, but wasn't really a dog person).

OP posts:
Horsemad · 04/11/2017 08:10

Oooh a puppy! Exciting Grin
What breed are you looking at chasing? I am a huge animal lover but DH is not a dog person Sad so we have cats only and I get my dog fix when I go home and see my mum's dog!

I am feeling ok, had a real low day the other day (work caused that mainly!). I have made an effort to get outside every day, for fresh air and daylight and the routine of a walk round the block seems to help.

11hours Cake! That's brilliant Smile Have been reading about HIGNFY Angry Glad I missed it, tbh. I hope the Beeb are inundated with complaints and quite right too!

Hope everyone has a good day, we are off food shopping - haven't done that task together for a looong time (I prefer to go alone), so that will be interesting...!!
No fireworks (unless we fall out in the supermarket! Grin) so takeaway & SCD tonight, hurrah!

bookbook · 04/11/2017 09:35

Morning all
well, it is very damp and grey here - rained most of the night, so no allotment this morning. Helping out at a charity stall after lunch.
Cake - ooh, the sleep thing looks like its just starting to stick - even if its a bit on and off - fingers crossed .
Chasing - a puppy - what a fabulous idea - I suspect it will be a very good companion . We had a dog when I grew up, but DH is allergic to them , so we did have a cat for years.
Horse - why on earth are work impinging on your op recovery - that is just horrible , no wonder you felt low. I feel for you going around shopping with DH - it has taken me years to get used to having mine tag along. There is always something odd in the trolley when we come to pay Grin
Willow - medal for tax return, and turfing CM stuff out - hope it all goes quickly
Well, I have been slobbing around, so better be off and get on with some housework, then more crotchet. Trying to get the WH blanket done to post off Monday .
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 04/11/2017 10:54

Morning all.
I am doomed!!
Ds2 and i in cafe nero for our usual after swimming...they have new cakes. Salted caramel and chocolate cake with caramel butter cream and amaretti filled muffins with tiny amaretti biscuit on top. Ds2 had the cake and me the muffin but of course had to try his..heaven on a plate😀

Off for quick browse and get some bits for packed lunches then home.

A puppy sounds fab wish we could have a dog.
Horse why on earth were work contacting you when you are off recovering? Tell them to sod off.

Willow2017 · 04/11/2017 12:42

Good grief thought wad having a good day! Albeit spending too much ha ha. Even caved in to ds2's xmas present for his dad😀 back to car and note on windshield to warn we had a flat tyre! Got it blown up and now in quock fit as my usual tyre place shut, fingers crossed i only need inner tube as thats the new tyre i got about a month ago!

There goes the rest off our plans !

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 04/11/2017 13:47

Oh no Willow that is pants! Hope it's not too bad.

Squirrel the idea of a puppy does not appeal to me at all - kids would love one though. Any ideas of type? Fireworks are at a cricket field - LL has shut for the winter now. Theirs was last weekend and the weekend before.

book hope your shift wasn't too busy Wink Slightly better, yes! Still feel tired.

What did work do Horse? They shouldn't be bothering you. Hope the shopping went OK.

Fingers crossed it stays dry - can even see a bit of sun now!

Horsemad · 04/11/2017 18:09

So the intrepid trio set off; yes, DH AND DS came shopping, it was exhausting, like herding cats!! Hmm, now I know why I usually shop alone!

Work are doing exactly what I predicted and changing things about my role whilst I'm off. I have a text I sent to a friend from before I went off saying what would happen and it has! Funny that, don't know why I'm surprised.

Fireworks already going off in our neighbourhood, quite a few displays going on as well.

Hope the tyre didn't cost too much Willow, we went through a spate where we had several in one year! Total pita!

bookbook · 04/11/2017 18:39

Hello all
oh Willow - it never rains ....
Horse - do you have a contract, or is this something they can do? Very underhand . Shopping with DH takes twice as long here
basically a quiet day , but feeling rather happy.
I was helping on a stall at the local flower and produce show, so rifled in my cupboard, and entered a jar of jam, and a jar of chutney. I won first prizes for both, and my jam got best preserve in the show , with a cup !!. I am quids in - it was 25p per entry. I won £1.50 each for the first prizes, and a £5 voucher for the cup Grin .
Just off to watch SCD, then a bath, then on with the crotchet
Have a good evening x

Horsemad · 04/11/2017 19:05

I do have a contract, yes book and will be letting them know how unimpressed I am when I get back!

Willow2017 · 04/11/2017 19:34

Ooh well done Book thats great. Dont spend it all in the one shop😀😀
Thankfully it was some part of the wheel rim worn so just needed a rub down and tube patching. So only £25 not a new tyre.
Apart from washing and sorting clothes have done nothing else (well fed the pesky kids)
Sitting watching Return of the King ignoring ironing pile😀

Horse thats very underhand get them told😉

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 05/11/2017 14:06

Hello all

We had such a good evening at the fair. There were lots of fireworks and the weather ended up being dry and clear.

Today we got out for walk/feed the ducks/park which was also good. Done a few chores, large chicken in the oven and now watching a movie.

hope everyone is OK. Anyone know if Selena has gone off on a travel or just taking a break?

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 05/11/2017 14:10

Outraged on your behalf horse

Chasingsquirrels · 05/11/2017 16:18

Very unimpressed by your work horse.

Been selling kids stuff on Facebook - took £18 yesterday, £33 today and another £5 awaiting collection. They are splitting the cash on their items so pretty happy.

Even happier that we are getting a puppy ☺.
Went to see them yesterday morning, they were gorgeous.
I wanted a girl and had seen this little advertised but she only had 1 girl and had someone coming to see her so she wait listed me. The other person pulled out due to a change in circumstances so she emailed me. They were all beautiful but we were all most taken by the blue roan boy. Came home and read about male dogs - have only ever had females. Then emailed her and said we'd like him. Collection in 4 weeks.

bookbook · 05/11/2017 19:21

Eveningall
Just settling down with a cup of tea, and about to watch SCD.
That puppy is edible Chasing - love at first sight by sounds :)
Busy day - allotment this morning, two loads of washing, and finished putting the blanket together, ready to post off tomorrow.
It has been cold today, and due for a proper frost tonight.
Have a lovely evening everyone
