Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

Aww bless him Cake loving your pumpkin. Very 'spooky'.Halloween Smile i was sure i would muck up the pumpkin but its ok not perfect but ok. Why do i do this to myself every year?

Horse hope you are getting a nap after your early wake up.

Just finished work, yesterday is catching up with me am knackered! Off to get kids next.

Chasingsquirrels · 30/10/2017 18:11

Got up and going this morning and was ready just after the boys left - mainly due to my body not yet having adjusted to the clock change and being happy enough to get up, then the travel on the radio mentioned a crash on the A14 and when I checked my sat nav my usual 25 minute journey was showing as 50 minutes. Decided to go the back way which is longer. By the time I lefty normal journey was showing as 1hr 10m!

Went to the supermarket on the way home and stocked up, so not back until just after 5pm. Now all unpacked and just waiting for my tea to cook.

On a very low calorie day again today, so soup for lunch (I remembered!) and chicken, peppers, tomatoes & onion in the oven. All out of raspberry smoothie lollies and Tesco didn't have any Sad.

Am very very gradually starting to sort stuff out in the house. Maybe by this time next year I'll be on top of it!

He's made it through the day. Just gone to bed and I may follow to catch up lol

Sounds positive Squirrel also glad you avoided the traffic jam...last thing anyone needs on a Monday morning. Sorry Tesco had no lollies for you.

Hope you've got your feet up willow (doubt it)

Selena hope you're ok?

Willow2017 · 30/10/2017 19:27

Here's ds2's pumpkin as promised.
Hope he sleeps longer tonight Cake. Just forced myself to do the dishes and contemplaiting ironing.

That traffic jam sounds horrendous. Glad you managed to avoid it Squirrels luckily we rarely have anything that bad round here.

Morning all
grey and raining here
I'm not sure where yesterday went - it seemed to zoom by .
I have been trying to get a knitted thing finished, so had my head down busy last night too.
All well here - just about to go and get dressed and be off to pick up DGS for the day..
Catch up later
Have a good day!

Willow2017 · 31/10/2017 08:50

For goodness sake did it have to rain today?

Its october and i am covered in midgie bites! Went up the estate grounds on friday with kids looking for any conkers that were missed and as we were coming out from under the trees i realised we had stirred up a load of insects and last couple of days i thought i was getting spots on my forehead. Now i have half a dozen on my forehead and in my hairline driving me mad with itching! Arghh. Went to bed white with sudocream last night 😀😀😀
Hope its a better day for you all. (Book you are in same boat as me)

Off to get shopping soon fridge is bare!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 31/10/2017 12:27

Hello

book hope you enjoy your half term fun. Guess both you and DH and DGS miss spending days together now he's in school.

We had a rough night - DD couldn't go to sleep till about 9:40 last night Shock and then of course DS woke at 4:45, but we stayed in bed for a while.

I've done my tax return and some cleaning so feeling quite accomplished. Have an easy tea planned and then just need to sort DS for a quick/early trick or treat and then get him off the sugar rush and to bed!

Oh no willow hope this afternoon is clear/dry and that the bugs do one Wink

Hope you had a better night horse.

Squirrel can the boys do some baking seeing as you're not on a fasting day? Cake

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 31/10/2017 13:55

ps had a message from Juan to say she's alright an book has confirmed her Woolly hug is finished. Wonderful news and well done to all the Woolly hug people. I must learn to crochet in the new year and join in!

HeadlessHorsemad · 31/10/2017 14:14

Lovely news about Juan's Woolly Hug. Smile

I keep saying I'm going to participate in this, they are so beautiful. People are very talented.

Willow2017 · 31/10/2017 16:53

Good news about Juan. Lovely that her wooly hug is finished.

I am in complete non-adult mode right now. Totally being unreasonable but ds2 just knocked down my 'Negan' pumpkin and smashed it. I am unreasonably gutted. Just love to push myself to do fab pumpkins at Halloween and its gone. All that time wasted. I know i am an adult and its an accident but i am still psd off. Its been a rush to get everything done and i thought "yes we made it".

Just ignore me am just having a moan on here as no one else to moan to. Still got guisers to look forward to.

Hope everyone else has a happy Halloween.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 31/10/2017 19:36

Oh no willow I think you're allowed to sulk. I was also just cross at DS as he'd been so good and then ruined it by endless moaning at the very end I also stepped in dog shit in the dark Angry he's asleep now. Always loveable and cute when asleep Grin

There you go horse - we've got a resolution for 2018.

Everyone settling to watch the bake off? I have managed to avoid the spoiler (so far) can't believe Pru announced it!

Willow2017 · 31/10/2017 20:03

Settled down to watch bake off. Hoping no more guisers have only 2 bags left and they have 4 sweets and a satsuma in them as running out of sweets and had to ration them out into more bags!
Been a lovely night lots of lovely costumes corny jokes and songs.

Willow2017 · 31/10/2017 20:05

I cant believe pru did such a stupid thing! Thankfully i dont follow her on twitter.

HeadlessHorsemad · 31/10/2017 21:58

We had no trick or treaters so I am eating the goodies! Halloween Grin

I haven't been watching Bake Off but saw earlier that Pru had let the cat out of the bag! Never happened on Mary Berry's watch, did it?!

Willow2017 · 31/10/2017 22:41

We were left with the 2 bags with only 4 sweets and a satsuma in them so we ate them.
Lots of lovely kids dressesd up and doing thier turns.

Finally got it all tidied up outside plus all the stuff i had abandoned on the floor inside and put back in the box. All ready to drive me mad next year Halloween Grin

Watching 'The Frankenstien Chronicles' saw advert for it the other night so watching from the start. Plus its got Sean Bean in it😉

bookbook · 31/10/2017 23:12

Evening all
weary here. Lovely day with DGS , but it rained nearly all day sadly.
But, he had a good birthday tea , and the Christmas puddings are made and ready to be steamed tomorrow.
DD decided to stay overnight, so DGS did trick or treat here. He looked wonderful in his knights costume, ( grey pjs, one of DHs old white vests as a tabard, a leather belt, sword, shield and helmet ) and went around a bit early - before tea, and got plenty of sweets just from a few houses . :). He loved answering the door . We almost ran out of treats. Some amazing costumes and make up .I had bought 2 enormous bags of mixed sweets, and DD had bought hers - we have 3 little jelly things left!
Willow - oh no, that is so, so disappointing, when you put such a lot of effort into it. But you ended up having fun at least.
managed to watch Bake Off - hadn't seen the spoiler, so that was good
Cake and Horse - well, there is a lovely community on Woolly Hugs, so you can just join and be welcomed :)
Sleep well all
Thoughts and Prayers

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 01/11/2017 05:50

I might put yarn and a hook on my Christmas list then Grin

Sounds like a very productive day book and how lovely to have them stay. DS also loved answering the door as much as going out.

5am start! Getting the 5year olds to school, then meeting a friend in town so smalls can play and we can have a little catch up. Need to see if I can get a pinata or order online (DDs party) and ring up gymnastics and hand over £200 Shock so DS can do lessons.

Have a great day x

bookbook · 01/11/2017 19:18

Evening all
Quick pop in to say hi.
Bits and pieces day here - DD stayed until nearly 10, then I've just been pottering around - I'm now in the process of constructing a blanket for WH, so head down for the next week so it can be sent out .
Off for a bath, then hook to the ready for the evening :)
Even DGS is a bit out Cake - he's been getting up a good half an hour too early this week too - but at least its half term for them.
Have a good evening all

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 01/11/2017 21:13

Clearly been a busy day all round.

I'm done in, so I'm in bed! Going to switch this off and sleep.

Our (town) Christmas lights are being put up Shock It's the 1st of November Hmm

Chasingsquirrels · 02/11/2017 08:34

Morning everyone, work seems too busy for my now reduced hours. I thought they would be about right but I'm inundated at the moment. Not having to leave on the dot to pick the boys up (now they make their own way home) gives me leeway but I don't want my hours creeping up unless I change my official hours so I get paid for them.

Boys have latched onto me selling things on Facebook and got old toys out to list yesterday - which turned onto an evening of playing Hot Wheels ☺.

Must get ready for work ...

OP posts:
TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/11/2017 09:32

Ah hot wheels is lots of fun Smile Yes, be careful not to get sucked into a situation where you're doing lots of extras without being paid. Is it this time of year that's particularly busy or just randomly busy?

I went to bed just after posting that message last night and slept till 6 - feels like I've been kicked in the head, but DS had 11 hours and seems much happier for it.

I've just made myself a bacon butty and glass of juice and now looking through the Tesco Christmas book. Then I need to wrap some stuff my folks sent before they get discovered and hide them somewhere.

Hope everyone else is OK, been a bit quiet on here!

bookbook · 02/11/2017 09:56

Morning all
Hot wheels! - DGS is just getting into those :)
Chasing - that sort of happened to me years ago. Went back part time after DD2 was born , and did the same amount of work in the 5 hours in a morning that I had done all day before. I didn't stay on after I had put enough time in not to have to pay back my maternity money ( don't know if that still applies now) .
I'm just sat waiting for the washing machine to finish, so I can hang stuff out , and then off to the allotment. Then back for lunch , helping out a bit with DH and on to crotchet blanket squares together. A full day :)
tbh Cake - I'm not on/not posting much anywhere - the floatingadvert at the top I find rather annoying, so I am not coming on anywhere near as often to see what is happening. Just a quick peek, the odd post and off.
Have a good day everyone x

Willow2017 · 02/11/2017 12:00

Morning all.
Busy night last night at ds2's parent teacher night which ran over by half an hour! All very good was really pleased.

Working pm. Housework this morning boring! Got pile of washing to sort out and machine playing up and has taken too long to do the damm wash as its sticking before it drains or spins. So am having to do them seperately. Ordering new one this week!

Cake thats a big sleep for you not to mention ds.

Book another busy day as usual.

Squirrels take care not to get into the habit of doing much more than you should. Its up to work to cover the extra work not expect you to do it for free every day.

Catch you all later.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/11/2017 14:04

Very annoying banner thing at the top. Seems to have stopped again now - maybe they had lots of complaints!?

Hope you have a good shift Willow I have done no washing or house work!

Feeling quite melancholy - may be the dull weather.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/11/2017 17:50

Argh, no the banners are still here Angry
