Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

Not too bad Cake thanks, but just can't get comfy. Have enormous dressing and strapping on and can't move much, plus it is itchy and driving me mad!

That chocolate looks good book, I am eating Lindor that someone kindly dropped off earlier ☺️

I used to give my DSs those vitamin tablets - the orange ones were their favourite. They rarely had colds, so must have done some good as one was a very picky eater and I always worried he wasn't getting enough nutrients.

Willow2017 · 26/10/2017 23:07

Evening
Just in time for choccy again?
All these fancy chocs i need to get me some. I have some cheap stuff for baking in the cupboard i might need to liberate😀

Funny ol day. Had to go get ds2 from school at lunchtime as he was feeling unwell. All hot and cold and sickly. Might just keep him off tomorrow if he has another bad night as its only half a day.

So didnt get for my glasses frames.
Didn't do much just bits of housework and washing.

Bit off a bad pm with ds1. Ex coming over tomorrow to discuss. Am banning that damm pc game for forseable future. The pressure to keep up with his friends and do certain things and not leave until they are finished is turning him into a crazy person. Will see if ex can take them to his for weekend ( but am sure there will be a reason why not) it would be good for them like normal separated families so😉
I don't get the thinking that a couple of hours every couple of weeks is enough!
Sorry rant over.
Anyway after the storm and he had tidied up his room we had a chat and a cuddle. He had packed a case as i told him i was phoning his dad and he thought i was sending him away for a time. Breaks my heart he is such a softy really but just cant handle emotions never has been able to i really worry about him. He might be taller and bigger and a pia at times but he is my baby

Horse hope you can get comfy tonight.
Shame about the weather Book but choc looks nice consolation.

Might try magnesium for ds1 and me as we are both useless at going to sleep 😀

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 27/10/2017 07:09

Hey all

I come with some great news. DS slept in his own bed for 8 hours straight. Now I get that for normal children that's not news worthy, but we've co slept since birth and he's always ended in our bed (he did from 3:30 onwards, but still)

He is incredibly fussy so no chance of chewy vitamins or a syrup, but has regular baths so epsom salts may be the way forward.

Sorry you didn't get dry weather book Meant to be lovely today.

Willow I really think your ex should step up, but I guess you can't make him. Hope that DS2 feels better soon and that DS1 is calmer today.

Squirrel hope the lolly was nice.

horse that sounds annoying, but I guess the itching is a good sign of healing.

Such yummy choc all round. I had smarties. Today DS has his swimming and then we're going to the local NT property to do their Woodland sprite walk and eat cake

Happy Friday, check in later x

HeadlessHorsemad · 27/10/2017 07:36

Great news re the sleeping Cake! Well done to your DS Smile

Chasingsquirrels · 27/10/2017 07:59

That's a good night then cake Smile, and your post 'sounds' upbeat. Have a good day.

horse hope the itching eases and the healing continues.

Willow, I don't know what to suggest. Withdrawing access to screens / limiting time on them is a good idea I think, although you have to continue to enforce. I know I have slipped in that respect, particularly over the last year since John deteriorated and died.
Hope ds2 is feeling better this morning.

book, don't be sorry about the chocolate picture - I'd been thinking about going and getting the lolly for an hour just couldn't be bothered, so motivated me.

Had a couple of pieces of galaxy chocolate before bed so ended up at 550 calories for the day. Might do another one tomorrow, although I always find them harder when I'm not working so maybe Monday & Thursday's going forward.

Better get on and go to work, I've got so much to do at the moment the and not being in for 4 days didn't help.

Morning all!
Beautiful, bright and sunny here - just struggling up to 5º from 3º when I got up, so raring to go :)
Cake - yay! - a full nights sleep is such a blessing, makes the day that bit better, so have a good one
Horse - argh, itchy, uncomfy, and not enough sleep - not fair is it.
Willow - it is so tough, you are essentially bringing up your DC by yourself. It is so hard, but you are doing all you can, and I am sure they know it too , and love you for it. There is such a lot of peer pressure at that age too, and social media makes it so much worse. Hang on in there
Chasing - I won't feel guilty then , but I had more than 500 calories yesterday!
I don't eat a lot of chocolate , but I like to have some in the cupboard, just in case. I buy when on special or reduced.
Have a lovely day all

HeadlessHorsemad · 27/10/2017 13:23

I don't buy chocolate and if there's none in the house, I'm fine. BUT... if there IS chocolate around, then I HAVE to eat it!!

I've had a few gifts of chocolate this week, so am trying to be good and not eat it all at once!

Willow, I think limiting screen time is a good thing and I say this as a parent of one who is obsessed by tech. Even when he was in 6th form, I insisted his phone/iPod be left in the kitchen overnight. Otherwise he'd have been up all night. Hmm

Now he's an adult I leave him to his own devices but I do think young teens sometimes need 'help' policing themselves.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 27/10/2017 17:26

Hello, we had a good day, thank you. Such a lovely, sunny day - hard to feel grumpy Wink

Hope you've all had good days too.

We're going to have a little walk in the dark to watch fireworks later but get DS in bed not too late as he's beat!

Anyone seen Somer around? Drove past the house named Somerville this afternoon which made me think of her. I saw her around on another thread a few weeks ago.

Have a good evening. It will be Smarties and HIGNFY later.

Chasingsquirrels · 27/10/2017 18:52

Just home from work - long day!
Having a quick sandwich and then seeing a friend for a drink shortly which will be nice.

I've seen Somerville posting elsewhere as and when, she seems fine.

Evening all
just a quick pop in to say goodnight .
I managed a nice time at the allotment, and all sorts of bits and pieces done this afternoon. Then crocheting a hat this evening - trying to get a few done for WH :)
Horse - hope you are a bit more comfy tonight, and get some quality sleep
Cake - fingers crossed for another good night with Ds
Chasing - hope you are having a good evening
willow - hope today has gone well with DS at home .
I have been on another thread with Somer - all seems well, baby is 6 weeks old !
Sleep tight
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 28/10/2017 00:37

Hi
Kids both at school today.
Got new glasses frames at last and in new colour very bright and cheery😀

Ex had long chat with ds1. We are going to work out some ways to deal with his anger (ds & me)
Pc game is banned for now as are any violent xbox games.
No signs of him being able to take kids overnight as his house 'too small' ! Oh well no change there. Didnt really get chance to talk much to him so will just get on with it as usual. At least he spent time with kids.
Glad everyone has had good days and pms.
Realised tonight i am working galliween! What a twit i am usually so organised i never thought to check the day! Ds2 and i been making up the bags to give out as had some left from school so might as well use them. Kids will have to do the honours till i get back unless someone will swap shift.
Better get to bed swimming tomorrow.

Willow2017 · 28/10/2017 00:39

Halloween for goodness sake!

HeadlessHorsemad · 28/10/2017 06:56

I quite like 'galliween'! Grin

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 28/10/2017 07:18

Morning all. Up early and boy is he in a bad mood! I might just go hide in bed later and send the boys out.

Hope you had a good night squirrel

How are you doing horse?

Oh no willow you like Halloween so much Grin but if the cafe is getting into the theme it may be fun too?

We hardly get anyone knock as we're at the top of a dead end...more for me to eat!

book how is DH after the physio?

Thanks for the Somer update. Time flies!!!

bookbook · 28/10/2017 09:46

Morning all
well dark and a bit grey here, but not as cold as yesterday.
I have been pottering around this morning- put a load of washing in, and been out and fed the birds.
Searched high and low for the box of paper fasteners that i know we have somewhere . DH is making a knights helmet for DGS to dress up ,and just needed some of those. I have rummaged around and found a few loose ones in the corner of a drawer, but goodness knows where the box is hiding.
Willow - new glasses- its always strange looking at yourself in the mirror, and realise it's you!
Cake service resumed as normal for you ? Thank you- DH is sort of okay, but his back is bad at the moment , so he is a bit fed up. It helps when he has bits and pieces to do to take his mind off it. So he picked up a load of stuff to PAT test for the charity shop, and DD asked if he could make up some sort of helmet for DGS., which is an urgent work in progress...:)
Off shortly to do my stint in the horticultural shop. I suspect a very quiet time today - no-one much is gardening at the moment.
Have a good day everyone

Chasingsquirrels · 28/10/2017 10:01

You will come across those paper fasteners when you least expect it book.

Hope you had a bit more sleep when DH got up cake.

Hope you can sort your Halloween shift willow, and that things improve with ds1.

Recovery progressing horse?

Nice evening with friend, just went to the local pub in my village - expecting it to be empty but it was heaving. New owners recentlyish who seem by all accounts to be turning it around.

OP posts:
HeadlessHorsemad · 28/10/2017 10:08

I am a bit grumpy today Sad

New pub owners sound good chasing, I'd love to have a really good pub in walking distance.

Hope DS's mood has improved Cake Wink

Willow2017 · 28/10/2017 10:53

Morning all
Dull and a bit windy but at least its not raining.
No swimming as ds2 still coughing and but off colour. No trip to town just yet either. Got headache thats not shifting myself wonder if its the weather.
Wil get halloween stuff out attic and decide what we can put out in morning if i have to work. No car decs this year😔

Cake hope ds mood improved and you get a bit of peace to relax later.
Doubt cafe will do anything its not in town so i doubt its worthwhile.

Horse you are allowed to be grumpy just take it easy, eat those chocs and let the world go by😀

Pub sounds good squirrela i havent been in one for years!!

Best get on (after my cuppa...)

Chasingsquirrels · 28/10/2017 11:39

Just sold an old Sky+ box I listed on the local Facebook selling page last week.
John got Sky when he moved in, mainly for the Racing channel but also he loved films. I'd just had Freeview+ boxes before. I'm not really bothered by anything that I can't get on Freeview so cancelled it after he died. Also listed my old Freeview+ boxes as we got a smart TV a couple of years ago and I just watch on catchup, can't imagine they will sell though - must be 7+ years old!

Someone in my WAY group does theatre production and is involved in a youth production of Les Miserables this week, I'd thought about getting a ticket but didn't. Then texting a friend last night after I got back and she mentioned she was taking her girls to it, so looked again this morning and there was 1 ticket left so I booked it. Not sat near to friend, but not like I'd be chatting through a show anyway.

Went to feed the hens this morning and my new leghorn (the only one laying with any reliability) was missing! Tracked her down to next door and herded her back but don't know how she got out.

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 28/10/2017 11:47

Ha ha Squirrels you have ninja hens😀

Ooh i love Les Mis seen it 3 times😀

bookbook · 28/10/2017 14:30

Afternoon all
oh Horse - I'm not surprised, I bet you are grumpy and bored? It's really hard when you don't feel up to doing something, but would like to.
Willow there are a lot of colds around - my sinuses are clogging, without any real cold , so I tend to end up using sudafed to keep it at bay .Chasing . - I do a bit of selling on our local fb site - its surprising what sells, and what doesn't, but it is always a bonus! That hen is stil trying Chicken Run Grin
Cake - hope you are coping!
Well, DH finished the knights helmet , and DGS has seen the picture, and approves .We are at his birthday party tomorrow, so it just needs a final around head fitting and fixing ready for Tuesday :)

DH has died and Squirrels broke the last thread without a link to this one! (Juan)
HeadlessHorsemad · 28/10/2017 14:36

I am a bit bored book. Keep thinking of what I could be doing if not impeded, grrrr. Just waiting on a visitor, which will cheer me up Smile

That helmet is brilliant by the way. Bet DGS will look great wearing it!

That hen needs renaming to Houdini chasing Grin

Willow2017 · 28/10/2017 16:38

Helmet is great. Lucky dgs.

Horse watch something on tv only you like, read a book you never have time for and eat choc and let everyone pamper you.😉

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 28/10/2017 17:51

Oh what a great helmet book

We've mostly made it through the day but he is one grumpy boy still. No extra sleep and no chance tomorrow as we're doing the last day at Lego for this season, pumpkin carving and hopefully Skyping my folks to see their puppy.

Have just finished wrapping DD's birthday presents as they were just waiting to be discovered. Baked some bread too.

Horse I hope your visitor cheered you up. I'm not one for sitting still so would hate it to be poorly/recovering.

Squirrels enjoy the show. I'm glad that you're keeping busy and that you found Miss hen. I managed to throw out a few bits from DS's room (with consent) but there's so much clutter!

Willow hope that the headache and colds go. I'm sure chocolate is medicinal Wink and for you and your sinuses too book

Have a good evening all x

HeadlessHorsemad · 28/10/2017 19:28

Lovely time with my visitor and she brought gorgeous homemade cake AND chocolate! Grin

Watching SCD now.
