Fairly new relationship

Party at friends, all a few to drink, new partner kisses hostess on the lips when we leave. Not a snog, just a firm kiss on the lips.

He says it is nothing in it, meant by it, me I went ballistic.

Am I over reacting?

Yep it would bother me. I wouldn't do it and I wouldn't expect dp to do it. It would bother him if I did it certainly.

Yanbu, it's weird. I don't know anyone in RL who kisses friends on the lips.

I wouldn't like it either. Ask your bf if he would kind if you kissed other men like that?

I would not be attracted to someone who did this. It would put me off.

Thank you for all of your messages, it seems that opinion is split, though some of you think like I do that it is inappropriate.

We have had a long talk about it since the party and he explained that all of his family have always done it. I said that I found it too personal. He has apologised profusely and said he won't do it again.

I will trust him on this until proved differently ......

I wouldn't be happy with this. I had a boyfriend like this one, also used to kiss a male friend on the lips, when it happened with a female comedienne at a wedding party who he twirled tongues with for a photo that was the end of the story.

All is my friends and family kiss each other on the lips!

Sorry I actually read it as hostess as in someone employed at the party. Was this the case or was it a family member?

Hostess just means lady who threw the party surely
