And how do you cope? And not feel jealous of those who do?
I'm NC with my parents for various reasons and ex-dps parents have passed away, no other family on either side...

no practical support ever.
my parents are about to see Dc's for 3rd time ever and they are 13 and 10 (other 2 visits were day trips where we went 300m to meet).
Ex-H's parents prefer photos to real kids.
so, not a single hour babysitting etc. they never phone them either :(

No emotional support. Quite the opposite in fact. Learned not to ask.

Sad for kids. If they have sponsorship forms I fill them in with names of people they have never met.They have asked if their Grandparents 'dont like them'.

yy to putting a willing friend as an emergency contact
