Day 1 Sad. Very disappointed in myself.

Musti · 09/09/2018 11:25

Macavity - you're cutting down which is great! What are you up to today?

Musti · 09/09/2018 20:47

Dry again today. Just a slight twitch whilst I was cooking but had a big glass of juice and then did my workout, had a bath and then ate. Eating early seems to do the trick.

I've slashed what I eat. Without alcohol, my body is just not wanting to snack. Which is great because I need to lose a few stones.

NewStartNow · 10/09/2018 22:34

Well done musti. Day one for me today and I must admit I didn't find myself thinking about it too much.
Managed a ten minute run with dd too.

Musti · 10/09/2018 23:06

Well done newstart. Exercise is brilliant as you tend to just want water afterwards.

I didn't even think about alcohol this evening! I've downloaded a sober app that nudges me at 8pm and realised that it gone the whole day and evening without thinking about it. It really is just a habit. Once you get through the first bit then it's so much easier.

NewStartNow · 11/09/2018 07:09

Morning. Waking up hangover free again. What app is it musti?
I downloaded easy quit which is quite good.

Musti · 11/09/2018 07:57

'I am sober '. This records your current streak so only good if you're quitting for good or for a while. I used to have another app that you could put in the days you drank and how much.

NewStartNow · 12/09/2018 07:12

Well managed to stay AF laat night despite bf bringing 4.bottles beer he'd been given. Not usually my drink but at one time I'd have drunk them just to have alcohol.
I'm hoping this habit sticks. Am contemplating trying to stay AF over weekend as am not going out.
How are you musti?
And hope everyone else is doing OK, seems all have gone.

Musti · 12/09/2018 07:23

That's brilliant Newstart! Yes AF still and not even thinking about it any more (very liberating). I stepped on the scales yesterday and I'm horrified even though my clothes are starting to feel looser. My appetite has really shrunk now that i dont have alcohol induced munchies - Have you noticed that?

NewStartNow · 12/09/2018 13:27

Hi. I can't say I have. Im wondering if I'm pre diabetic as I get extreme sugar crash if I don't eat for three hours.
Have you not lost any then?

Musti · 12/09/2018 20:21

I haven't weighed myself for ages so I probably have as I'm definitely losing size. Feel miles better too.

Crunchymum · 13/09/2018 10:43

It's a bit quiet? How are we all?

Today is day 11 for me. Longest I've done non pregnant since dry Jan 2017 (was pregnant and had a newborn in Jan 2018!)

As my health isn't great I'm not feeling any benefits physically but my mood has improved, and I'm not struggling as much as I thought I would?

Musti · 13/09/2018 11:48

Fantastic crunchymum! I'm glad that your mood is improving and that you're not struggling.

Nowstrong · 13/09/2018 16:29

I've now managed to stay dry for 5 days. So pleased. Am feeling great. Just needed to tell someone.

Musti · 13/09/2018 16:54

That's brilliant nowstrong!! Well done :)

Crunchymum · 13/09/2018 17:20

Are you trying for another 5 days Nowstrong? Smile

NewStartNow · 14/09/2018 07:34

Well done crunchy and musti :-)
I managed another night too.
I'm finding getting to sleep more difficult but do seem to have a little more energy during the day and the nausea which had been a constant for months has gone.
Still nothing to note weight wise.

Have a lovely Friday x

NewStartNow · 14/09/2018 07:35

Oops sorry nowstong. A very well done to you too :-)

Musti · 14/09/2018 08:49

Newstart- when I did dry January, it wasn't until towards the end when my weight came off. I've lost a kilo since I weighed myself on the 12th and yesterday two people asked me if I'd lost weight. Clothes do feel looser.

Magnesium supplements are supposed to help with sleep. I'm finding the contrary, I'm struggling to stay up past midnight and I'm usually a night owl.

Is everyone planning on being dry this weekend?

NewStartNow · 15/09/2018 08:44

Hi all. Had some drinks last night. Not a lot so am not going to beat myself up.
Today is a full on day with DD and Ss so won't get home until late this evening so no opportunity to drink or get bored (which usually results in drinking).
How is everyone else doing?

Musti · 15/09/2018 11:49

It's all about cutting down on drinking. If you can do it without abstaining then that's great.

Still dry here. Also taking my kids out to a birthday party and they're having a sleepover here so not drinking here. Normally I'd be annoyed at having to drive back so late and not be able to drink earlier on a Saturday.

Musti · 16/09/2018 10:52

I've just weighed myself and I've lost 3 kilos. My face is looking thinner and my eyes brighter. It's really encouraging. I'm also not losing half a weekend because of a hangover. 2 weeks dry now.

NewStartNow · 16/09/2018 18:53

Wow musti that's brilliant :-)
I'll be that gives you even more motivation.
I had a couple last night but feeling quite relaxed about not having any for the next few days.

Musti · 17/09/2018 08:13

Hi all. Still dry and I don't think about it at all except when I get my phone reminders or on here. Having a few drinks at the weekend is where I want to be eventually so well done.

NewStartNow · 17/09/2018 21:00

Af tonight and not doing too bad esp considering there's vodka in the house. . Going to go to bed to avoid temptation shortly.
Hope youre doing OK musti.
Crunchymum and now strong how are you doing?
