Dear all,
I've NC for this as it feels so Blush
I worked in a particular job for 6 months and my contract ended quite recently.
There was a person in another department I vaguely chatted to about 3 times.
On my penultimate day, we ended up sitting together & I felt this chemistry.... Can't explain. We only chatted a bit but it was pretty interesting.
Always thought he was in a relationship but I asked an ex-colleague to (subtlety) find out and it appears that he is separated & living alone.
I have his work email address.
We barely spoke and I don't even know if he knows who I am.
Should I email him and ask if he'd like to go for a drink?
Is there a way to do this without coming across as an absolute lune?
By the way, I have been online dating for ages & he's the first person I've felt a real spark with in absolutely ages. Or should I just leave it well alone? Hmm

He could be doing anything, off sick, in a meeting, with a client - it's still early for a response.

Hopefully it'll be positive news later, but even if not, you've done a great thing - nothing ventured and all that!

wordsareeverything · 06/07/2017 12:11

Thanks for the reassurance Luxurywoman
Or maybe he's an avid reader of MN and is sitting in a dark room cringing!

If he's read it yet, he'll be feeling really flattered and composing his reply in his head. Wouldn't expect an instant reply as he will want to play it cool.

demirose87 · 06/07/2017 12:39

He will probably reply after work when he's not busy, trying not to look too eager and thinking of the best reply he can. That's if hes even seen it yet

wordsareeverything · 06/07/2017 13:46

On a separate note, just been in the pharmacy with my daughter & got home to find an O.L.D message saying 'thought I recognised you! Just seen you in the chemist! Coffee sometime?'
I'm SO ditching my O.L.D account... That's just WEiRD!
Still no email... Not feeing hopeful, MN.....

Don't give up hope just yet OP

Praying he replies as i love a good old romantic thread Grin

LuxuryWoman2017 · 06/07/2017 15:33

It's July. He might be on holiday. Still early days.

chipscheeseandgravy · 06/07/2017 15:35

Email him... something like 'are you spaghetti? I'd like to meat your balls.' Or something more traditional like... 'was really nice to speak to you the other day, fancy going for a few drinks next week? My mobile number is xxxxx'
It's not like you have to face him if he knocks you back, same goes for if he turns out to still live with his mum and has 35 cats.

chipscheeseandgravy · 06/07/2017 15:37

Ahh, I see you've already emailed him. Good luck Wine

mortificado · 06/07/2017 15:38

Cheesychips that's hilarious. Just spat water all over my desk!
Good luck op!

I'm not going to get any work done now ive seen this thread!

3wayburger · 06/07/2017 18:02

Any news?

wordsareeverything · 06/07/2017 18:29

👋 No news
Maybe as peeps said he's on hols/off sick/he's still planning the most epic reply in history.... Maybe just another flattering email to add to his 'flattering email folder'.

OP posts:
demirose87 · 06/07/2017 19:21

Think he's quite rude if he doesnt reply. It took a lot for you to send that message and not fair for him to not give you an answer, either way. But there's still time

3wayburger · 06/07/2017 19:57

He will be ill on holiday, writing his fabulous reply.
That will explain the delay😘

QuestionARhino · 06/07/2017 20:27

@wordsareeverything ah I'm hoping you get a response soon.

The O.L.D. message is weird af though... was it someone you recognised?! That would make me feel weird tbh.

wordsareeverything · 06/07/2017 21:48

Questionarhino Yep really weird!
The chemist is two mins from our home & I was vagually aware of someone else in there but we haven't even messaged on there or anything!
Weird and creepy.
Blocked him pronto!
What's wrong with people? Hmm

Could it have gone into a junk mail or spam folder? Hope not but this can happen.
