i got a sweet card from my mum and nothing from h or dd's! but they are only 2 yr & 8m so not their fault!

Have had dd's all day as h hasn't bothered to grace us with his presence apart from to bundle them both into my bed at 5.45am and then bugger off to the spare room!

I hope some of you have more thoughtful partners!

I got a dd with a vomiting bug and a gammy eye!
On a nicer note I also got a card and picture she made me in school and a card dp got for me from dd and ds which dd wrote all by herself! Dp also got me some clarins beauty flash balm and a flower in a little vase from Next.
I will say this is the first time dp has bothered to do anythng for Mother's day in nearly 4 years and it exerted him so much he took himself back to bed for a couple of hours earlier while I tidied the house, I woke him up when dd puked.

fryalot · 18/03/2007 15:12

I got a handbag which I bought myself and gave to dd1 with instructions to wrap it (it came in a carrier bag) and a clock with a picture of the dcs on that dp had made for me.

Also had tea in bed, breakfast made for me, dinner made for me and am banned from the kitchen for the whole day!

Blackduck · 18/03/2007 15:14

I got woken up at 6.00 am, the washing up from last night's dinner party, the ironing of a week....
oh a three books and three cards...

Flamesparrow · 18/03/2007 15:19

I told DH I needed something created by the children...

I have a plaster molding of DD's foot painted in splodgey colours, and some painted cards.

I love em.

(Oh, also appear to have got a DS with German measles )

bellarosa · 18/03/2007 15:20

i feel like mrs doormat right now!

(blows a big raspberry in h's direction!)

sarahinphuket · 18/03/2007 15:54

I got a dwarf spider lily bulb that has just started to shoot, planted in a terracotta pot that DD has painted silver and stuck things onto. She did it all herself at nursery and I love it! Have to try and keep the plant alive now...

sarahinphuket · 18/03/2007 15:55

meant to say
no card or anything but here in Thailand it's not actually Mothers Day anyway so Dh had no idea..

LittleSarah · 18/03/2007 15:58

Amazingly I got a lovely bunch of flowers from dd (2.11) and exP and a card. Am suffering mild shock! Pleased though.

admylin · 18/03/2007 16:10

It isn't mothers day where we live, just had a phone call from the UK from my friend listing all the wonderfull things she got starting with breakfast in bed and cards and lunch being made and even getting taken out later - very !

catsmother · 18/03/2007 16:13

I was a bit flabbergasted by what I received ....... a big bottle of Jo Malone Blue Agava perfume from my 3 year old (via DP) who, when I said that that was a "silly" amount to spend, said he'd run out of ideas ......... and a delivered flower arrangement from my 16 year old, in a rare show of thoughtfulness !

This thread would be a good one to print off and leave on dh's desk or some place he would read it so he might get a few ideas!

Nbg · 18/03/2007 16:22

I got an agument about how it is'nt Mothers Day!
As I pointed out we might live in America, but I'm British therefore have a British Mother's Day, also pointed out that since DS is American I therefore qualify for the American Mother's day too
You never know he might actually remember that one!

saffy202 · 18/03/2007 16:48

The ds's spent their own pocket money and chose it themselves - so got chocs from Hotel Chocolat and a keyring. It is just the type I would have picked myself

admylin · 18/03/2007 17:18

Good idea Ivor, have to try that next year!

Pinkchampagne · 18/03/2007 18:18

Two lovely cards made at nursery & school, and a little heart box made by DS2.
