Are people just born that way? or do they become so because of something that happened to them?

dreamreckless, you have choices. You can choose the easy path in life, whereby you remain with this man who does not have a conscience. Easy it may be, but your conscience knows who he really is. I can't begin to imagine the inner turmoil you are feeling, day and night, week after week, year after year, knowing the truth but choosing to ignore it.

Or, you can take the hard path and lead a life grounded in reality, where you are free from this turmoil. You will begin to notice lovely things again, like you probably did as a child, and you will see how rich life can be.
