Anyone else totally alone for Christmas?

I have:

2 aunts
1 uncle
5 cousins (all with partners/kids)
mother
father
brother

And I'm not in contact with any of them at all on account of my terribly abusive childhood. My father is a paedophile who tortured me. All his relatives took his side over me, believing it's impossible that he could do what I accused him of. My d 'm' never bonded with me and walked out when I was a small child & her side of the family are all raving narcs with their own severe problems, which leaves my poor brother, who ten years ago had a nervous breakdown and cut himself off from everyone. So I have absolutely no-one this Christmas, or any other Christmas for that matter. It's more than a bit sad to lose your entire family.

No mamakena I have no contact with my db. As I said in my opening post, he had a very serious nervous breakdown and cut himself off from everyone. I tried to make contact but he made it very clear he never wants any contact with family again. What always gets me is that I managed to lose ALL my family, not just one or two members. It's especially hard. But after reading so many other threads yesterday I feel a whole lot better. There's so much hurt and lack of consideration out there.

I'm sorry Spaceknickers what you've gone through is completely unjust.

I wish you every joy in your life going forward.

As someone endlessly single I always think of Wendy Cope's poem at Christmas. It cheers me up knowing that others recognise that it's not always fun if you're alone. I hope you like it too.

'At Christmas little children sing and merry bells jingle,
The cold winter air makes our hands and faces tingle
And happy families go to church and cheerily they mingle
And the whole business is unbelievably dreadful, if you're single'.

Just wanted to say so sorry for what happened to you Space, I hope yesterday wasn't too bad. Also sorry that your holiday didn't work out User, at least you made the effort to go on holiday but I think sometimes people in groups can "gang" up or form a clique. Hope next year is better x
