Keep reading. Please.
I've got to go for now but someone who knows you better will be along soon I hope.

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 21:41

its thank you for posting :) It really helped. About to get in bath.
The refuge of would be soberistas!

LikeaHurricane · 13/12/2016 21:43

Come on sobersarah, ride it out girl.
DO NOT feed the wine witch..... God she's such a clever, manipulative bitch. Don't fall for it, she will not solve your problems or help you in anyway.
Come on sober you are stronger and better than that. You have to starve her. You know you do ....
Your daughter needs you and whatever is happening, it will be a lot worse dealing with it if you factor booze into the equation. You'll feel shit for starters Flowers

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 21:47

Now in a lavender scented salt bath with candles. And drinking chocolate. And bubble hour on my headphones. And MN on my tablet. . Feel safer now. Fuck you Wine Witch/Wolfie/Whatever. Not driving to get wine now.

Thank you, all of you. I felt helped and supported, regardless of who actually posted. And thank you to those who did actually respond xxx

LikeaHurricane · 13/12/2016 22:03

Well done sober Smile
Look how strong you are. Feel that power.
Fantastic work

Captainladder · 13/12/2016 22:06

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 22:12

I was in my car, key in the ignition, posting on my phone :( to say I wanted to get wine :( I really, nearly drove to get wine. After that many days! After nearly 360 odd almost consecutive days! FFS!
ODFOD Wolfie. Thank you Dry thread you really, really helped
raises bubble encrusted hot chocolate cup to you all

BGJ42 · 13/12/2016 22:13

sarah - too new to this chat to add anything useful that hasn't already been said, but #handhold...

BGJ42 · 13/12/2016 22:19

Also need to realise when things have fallen onto a new page - doh!

There's a lot of things I need to get the hang of currently...

Glad you're in the bath, and drowning the damn witch..... (think Wizard of Oz... I'm melting, I'm melting!!)

Made my running friend scream obscenities at a hill today to stop her walking rather than running, she's from a super posh back ground so it was funny to hear her exasperated cries of bum, bottom, butt cheeks, posterior - it all got a bit silly, and we made it to the top of the hill still running.... She then proceeded to up the pace and try to kill me... But another 2.5 mins quicker than the last time, so all good.....

So Wine Witch, i give you bum, bottom, arse, butt, posterior, cheeks, booty.....

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 22:21

BG thank you xxx

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 22:26

I am muttering Fuck you Wolfie on repeat at the moment while I dry my hair after a lovely bath. Really trying not to think of the fact that I am sober and could therefore in theory get in my car and drive 5 miles to the 24 hour shop to buy wine.
ODFOD Wolfie I am not getting in my car now. I am in my PJ's in bed and all cosy with hot choc and Tom Hiddlestone in High Rise on my tablet in bed with a hot water bottle and hot chocolate and chocolate ( did I mention chocolate?)

throughtheviolets · 13/12/2016 22:43

sending you an enormous WELL DONE and positive sober thoughts sarah you are an inspiration FlowersStarChocolate

userformallyknownasuser1475360 · 13/12/2016 23:10

Sorry I wasn't in earlier sober I was at an AA meeting....really glad you were able to get through it, now not having lifted that first drink....are you drunk?

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 23:12

User why would you think that ? Pretty rude to ask that tbh

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 23:14

No. I am not. That is pretty rude though, to ask. :( Why would you even ask that?

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 23:17

I think I had made it very clear - I was teetering on the verge of going off to buy alcohol but had not actually driven off to buy any when I posted
?

Sorry sobersarah think I may have put that forward wrong, it's from something I was saying earlier in the thread-

if you don't lift the first drink then you can't get drunk, - tonight you didn't lift the first drink, so there was no way you could get drunk!!!!

I profusely apologise for not making it clear!!!Flowers

userformallyknownasuser1475360 · 13/12/2016 23:35

maybe welcome on board....you won't regret it.

sobersarah · 13/12/2016 23:37

Welcome Maybe is this your Day 1? Never mind, just don't drink.
Be kind to your self, don't drink and read the thread for advice

Loubilou09 · 13/12/2016 23:43

Sarah - well done that's amazing!!!!!!

I see what user was trying to say but agree it's worded and/or punctuated badly and coming across all wrong but he is trying to say because you didn't lift the first drink you are not drunk are you Wink

It's so bloody annoying when wolf is comes to call just as strong as day one sometimes....why is that I wonder? Does it seem stronger because we aren't expecting it maybe? I remember getting like that with cigarettes and would get really strong cravings much further down the line when I really wasnt expecting them so they totally caught me off guard...

You beat Wolfie tonight - kicked arse!!

Welcome maybe and well done on day 4! Flowers

Feeling bright and positive today, plus OH is definitely going to drive to collect me from my work do on Friday so my safety net is restored. He is a good egg Smile

vxa2 · 14/12/2016 11:45

Views please! I am setting up a local support group for women who have/had issues with alcohol and who are/ trying to be sober. I am hoping it will offer what I needed and still need. At this stage I am going to make it a women's group. It will not offer any kind of counselling or group therapy. It will kind of be a real life version of what we have here. If I called it Sober Women Together and then the name of the area it will cover - would that be an ok name ?
