elephantoverthehill · 12/11/2016 00:11

Glad you found the thread chocholic. It is very supportive.

chocoholic89 · 12/11/2016 00:22

DavetheCat2001 · 12/11/2016 11:13

I shared a bottle of red with OH last night.

Don't feel any better/worse than I have done recently.

Going out tonight with friends and have decided to drive and avoid drinking.

GettingitwrongHauntingatnight · 12/11/2016 16:41

Hi choc whats upsetting you? 5 weeks is amazing.

dave good for you!

I'm planning a dry couple of days. I have been out shopping for dd2s birthday all day and am shatteted.

DavetheCat2001 · 12/11/2016 17:30

Scratch that.

I've blown out tonight. Feeling incredibly low and rubbish so going to stay in with OH and get an Indian takeaway instead. Hoping to get the kids down at a reasonable hour as they have been manic today.

chocoholic89 · 12/11/2016 18:41

I was a bit tipsy, I kept trying to stay sober but had a lapse I wouldn't say o was alchohol dependant, just sometimes I drink far too much and then on a downer. I feel ok today!

madein1995 · 12/11/2016 20:44

choc week 5 is bloody fantastic!
dave aww that's a shame, but a night in could do you the world of good Smile

How is everyone else? Hope it's all going ok Smile induction went well and I have 3 shifts next week with more overtime hopefully. Bought two christmas jumpers (am allowed to wear them to work in December). They're a lovely thin material so not too hot which is good. Has anyone tried the new hazlenut lindor? I picked some up earlier and me and mam have already eaten half of the box Blush

chocoholic89 · 12/11/2016 21:21

Thank u. Yeah I think I will stay on this thread as I am and will try to stay af, but I don't half feel like I'm bringin people down if I do have a drink.

madein1995 · 12/11/2016 21:42

choc I know how you feel, but I think we've all had a drink when we told ourselves we didn't, and you really aren't letting any of us down Smile I'm not completely AF and never have been really, but the support people can give you is worth posting Smile and 5 weeks is really amazing, think I could do 5 weeks AF if I HAD to but don't think I've done so since turning 18.

madein1995 · 12/11/2016 22:17

Fuck, just done a weekly check on drinkaware, trying to compare what I used to drink and what I do now. This week I've had 26 units so not too far over limit, entered what I would have drank on average in a week a few months ago, and it was 91 units. Bloody hell, sounds loads when you think of it!

chocoholic89 · 12/11/2016 22:31

I made myself promise that I would not drink around the children, so that made it easier aswell as I wasn't sat down and thinking oh il av a little glass. My dc have seen me drinking many of times then they have had a crap day as I use to be a write off and unwell. So I just try to have that in mind.
Had a good day today, took the dc to park. Went for a walk round shops had a chippy tea. Ready for bed tho now I'm shattered feel as if I drank more then I actually did. Must bare that in mind, body wasn't use to it which if course is a Good thing. Grin

chocoholic89 · 12/11/2016 22:31

Maiden. Well done thats a massive cut back!

GettingitwrongHauntingatnight · 12/11/2016 22:42

Just wanted to share, AF to daySmileSmile

madein1995 · 13/11/2016 20:21

Hope everyone is ok Smile elba how are you feeling about tomorrow?

chocoholic89 · 13/11/2016 21:28

Hello everyone, I feel tired again not felt like this in a while think because I had a drink I'm a bit anxious..Feel like my dc have done everything they could to do my head in. Every room they go in they destroy and I just got my can't be botherd head on. I feel groggy aswell eating junk most of wend. Sad
Tomorro I plan to eat fruit and drink green teas try to have a bit of a detox. Make myself feel a bit in control of myself!

madein1995 · 13/11/2016 22:15

choc whenever I've had a good drink I feel anxious/down the day after. I call it the hangover blues, I deffo feel down/oversensitive/depressed the day after a heavy session so I think what you're feeling is natural. Do try not to beat yourself too much though. On a practical level, a cool shower could wake you up a bit?

Elba84 · 13/11/2016 22:30

Thanks made im ok- busy day at work to distract me. Trying hard not to catastrophize too much over the results. And I managed to shut up the incessant voice that kept telling me it would be a fab idea to buy wine 12 hours before someone shoves a camera down my throat, so at least won't be having it done hungover! Want it over with now...

madein1995 · 13/11/2016 23:22

What time are you booked in for elba? Well done on resisting the wine, they might not have done the procedure if you'd drank anyway so best to abstain for the night and get it over with Smile I know before my op I couldn't eat and drink anything after midnight bar very small sips of water, so be wary of that if you'll be put under anaesthetic? Good luck, have a speedy recovery and if you want a chat post on here, I should be knocking about tomorrow Smile

Elba84 · 13/11/2016 23:44

Have to be there 8.15- actual procedure usually only takes 10 mins or so but I'm preparing for lots of waiting around so could be a long morning. No anaesthetic, or sedation as I have to drive home after, but yes no food or drink from 2am. it's all very minor as things go I'm just being a wimp

theansweris42 · 14/11/2016 12:46

checking in , drinks over weekend, semi OK amounts....
AF Mon - Thurs again
Hope all are okay.

madein1995 · 14/11/2016 14:39

Hope all went ok elba
Bit of a bad night here. Drank a bit too much last and felt sick (luckily wasn't) then was kept awake from 2 til 6 with wisdom tooth pain which I wasn't able to take painkillers for as no good to mix with alcohol. Dropped off at 6 until 12 and feel ok now.

Plan for today is just to shower, wash my hair, sort out the mess of the fridge and write a shopping list and cook tea for everyone. Doctor still not got back to me so will go over there tomorrow and hassle them - the sooner it's done the sooner I can post it. Apart from the doctors tomorrow I also have physio, a community first meeting (urgh, onlygoing to get my benefit), visit my aunt and finally cancel my claim! Then Wednesday I've got my first shift in Tesco (5-10), volunteering Thursday and Friday and then working Sat evening and Sunday day. They said if you wanted to you could pick up lots of overtime so that's what I'll be trying to do until my other job is sorted (which would be a lot quicker if the doctor got their arse in ear Hmm perils of living in my area which is a surgery to my area and the surrounding villages which are 5+ miles in every directions and only has 3 doctors, it's murder trying to get an appointment)

madein1995 · 14/11/2016 14:41

Arse in GEAR, not arse in EAR Grin

Elba84 · 14/11/2016 19:31

Thanks made Flowers and hope your feeling better- wisdom teeth are a total pain!

I'm fine; had the endoscopy which was as unpleasant as expected but took minutes. No after effects apart from a slightly sore throat. And to my huge relief all that was found was a small hiatus hernia, which didnt surpise me. Could of quite possibly been caused by bulimia, drinking and smoking certainly won't of helped, but equally could of happened anyway. Feel much brighter but a bit stupid as have been putting it off and self medicating with prescription doses of otc meds for a couple of years just in case it was something alcohol related Blush

dementedma · 14/11/2016 19:43

Checking in. Failed again on having an AF week at day 1. Had loads at the weekend too!Sad
