Will you be expecting anything from your DH / DP?

Do think you'll get it?

cremolafoam · 06/02/2007 11:14

no

Tortington · 06/02/2007 11:15

i expect a card. and fuck all with any thought.

thats exactly what i'll get.

i think i'll pick him up some shit thoughtess 99p shit from papershop. and write from custy.

i'm not usually over anal about it - but this one should require him to make a shitload of effort for reasons i'm not telling.

i know men and women are built differently. but he knows how i'm built so theres no exuce and i hope his nuts drop off in boiling acid

loomer · 06/02/2007 11:18

Yes! A huge pile of presents... for my birthday.
Won't expect anything for Valentine's, we have never really gone a bundle on the whole thing, mostly cos I'm too busy running around shouting "It's my birthday!" and getting cross with anyone who threatens to waylay proceedings for any other so-called 'event'.

maycontainstress · 06/02/2007 11:24

I've already had mine My DP was so excited about it, he insisted I had it immediately, I got some teeny and very beautiful diamond earrings and a really delicate lovely necklace.

I'm not sure what he's expecting from me but it won't be anything you can buy in a shop .

Valentine's is no biggy but we've only been together a year so we're still in the first flushes

dmo · 06/02/2007 11:24

its dh birthday on valentines day so he gets loads.
i get flowers (no chocs this year i'm on ww)

RosaLuxembourg · 06/02/2007 12:53

I am expecting pyjamas as that's what I said when he asked what I wanted. I did specify pjs that while attractive enough to keep him happy would also be suitable to answer the door to the postman in IYSWIM.
He is getting some Jo Malone cologne (which I might just borrow from time to time).

Whoooosh · 06/02/2007 12:57

Am expecting a mighty big effort from dp this year as we have been through a whole load of sh*t lately....quite difficult as she is in another country till the 12th but hey-maybe she will rise to the challenge.
Never normally a big deal but this one definitely is.

I of course have ordered everything already and reckon I will definitely win the "thoughtfulness" prize.

Crazydazy · 06/02/2007 13:06

My birthday day before valentines day and DP complains about the cost in cards let alone pressies!!!

He always gets me one for both though - wouldn't dare not!!!

Also usually get treated to some choccies and maybe some underwear if he's feeling flush.

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 06/02/2007 13:09

nope.

we've never done valentines. Actually tell a lie he did once send me flowers.

but it's my birthday on the 17th and as we're going to London for his birthday I'm going shopping in the west end on mine with his credit card.

valentines a waste of money IMO.

Biglips · 06/02/2007 13:09

yes a phone call as i will be away at dps sisters for a week on 12th (Dp was supposed to be coming with us but his shitty boss changed his mind!- gggrrrrr)

McDreamy · 06/02/2007 13:10

yes a room full of screaming 3-4 year olds having fun eating food and singing happy birthday to DD - how romantic is that!!! DH is in Afghanistan so not much chance of any romance anyway

oxocube · 06/02/2007 13:12

Absolutely nothing, apart from a "Happy Valentine's Day" which is fine with me . Would rather get flowers because he wanted to but them rather than felt he ought to IYSWIM

oxocube · 06/02/2007 13:13

BUY them. Am tired!

I am expecting a card and flowers..delivered by a man in a van...

I shall get a card..

Dh got me some flowers on Saturday, he asked me if I wanted a book or a new top but I said no, just get a nice bunch of flowers..he did result! Hope they die before the 14th!

3andnomore · 06/02/2007 13:17

If I am lucky I will get a online valentines card, as dh is in Afghanistan for 6 month now...hohum, eh..

noddyholder · 06/02/2007 13:19

My dp will cook a meal, mutter how valentines is for teenagers, commercial blah blah blah and then shag my brains out[!

itsmeNDP · 06/02/2007 13:19

rofl, custy

I don't expect anything, we don't bother with VD ()

ItsMeMellowma · 06/02/2007 13:19

Oh thats a shame 3andnomore.

You will have to treat yourself..get some chocs and some nice bath bubbles and a nice book.. (that sounds a little bit sad but it my idea of heaven!!)

misdee · 06/02/2007 13:21

I am hoping to spend it with my dh outside of E ward

tirnanog · 06/02/2007 13:25

Usually get hand made card.

charlieq · 06/02/2007 13:31

lol noddyholder

no chance of a shag here valentine's or not.

I am pg and the size of a small county. Not that I always used to put out just in honour of St. Valentine anyway

I really hope I don't get anything because I am of the 'harrumph commercial exploitation' camp. But DH always does get me something and I feel guilty.

funnypeculiar · 06/02/2007 13:32

always get flowers...

princessmel · 06/02/2007 13:34

My dh will probably get me a nice card.
And me one for him.

I probably won't get a pressie as we're not that flush. He'd love to I know.

We used to buy things when we first got together.

crunchie · 06/02/2007 13:38

DH and I were talking about going to the theatre in Stratford Upon Avon, but I can't be bothered. I fancy a glass of champers and a good movie, so hopefully that is what we'll do
