OMFG, Am I a prude or is my 'friend' weird?

Was out with a girl from work last night, I wouldn't go so far as to describe her as a friend. Anyway, we had a few drinks, the gossip flowed, we got onto our relationships and then she told me her and her partner (both v attractive) have applied to go the next 'Fever party'. Whats that I ask, oh its like an upmarket sex party she says. I didnt really know what to say, so moved the conversation on. I couldn't believe it when I checked their website this morning (was going to post a link but thought I'd better not). Now she is quite quiet around the office, friendly with guys but never flirty. She does change a bit after a couple of drinks and always thought she could be a 'bit of one' but blimey, not like that! I'm really quite shocked, am I a prude?

LOL my mum and stepdad (who are both nearly 50) got invited to a party by a younger couple who have started running there local pub. They declined but some of their friends went. It was a swingers party and everyone was naked in the pool. I had to laugh, although my mum asked me if she was a prude I could just have imagined her face if she would have gone!

mummysurfer · 27/05/2004 14:21

It doesn't shock me Jax, but that doesn't mean you are a prude. Each to their own I say.

i found it already...v classy, but the reality is that unless she is so so sure that they are both into it, will probably end in tears...

Janh · 27/05/2004 14:37

lou33 · 27/05/2004 14:39

Janh · 27/05/2004 14:44

how come London gets extra beds? Are the people bigger?

Heathcliffscathy · 27/05/2004 14:44

you're alright lou, they'll let single women go free...i bet it's all hype and everyone is ugly...actually the thought of everyone being a beautiful person is fairly ugly too in a way...swinging: great idea, terrible reality (not that i've tried it, not that i'd be ashamed if i had) discuss

Janh · 27/05/2004 14:46

"We are also planning a special party for couples in their 30s and 40s, slightly older than our usual age group but still young by normal swinging standards."

Still young by normal swinging standards? What? Who are these people? If normal swingers are a lot older than that I wonder if hoists are required?

Heathcliffscathy · 27/05/2004 14:47

pmsl janh

Jaxmum · 27/05/2004 14:55

I wonder if any Mumsnetters would have considered attending in their younger, wilder days? Come on, own up!

We'll have to have a special over-40s one, Blu. Although DP would just sneak under the wire (so to speak, oooer missus) for an ahem normal FP.
