Well after giving lots of advice on here I have discovered today that that man I have known for 30 years doesn't exist

It turns out he has sex with men, it turns out he hasn't been to work for a Long time and instead goes to hotels for sex, it turns out he takes crystal meth

I think I would give them the heads up. Possibly not the full story but enough for them to scoop him up if he needs the support.

How had he been this morning? Xx

Hissy · 27/02/2016 11:11

Just tell the school that your marriage has ended, and that h has moved out, so if they could keep an eye on DS etc.

I know you can't see it now, but things will ease, the shock will fade and you will realise that you'll be ok.

You may never the the answers to the questions in your head, but that is done, his life and the mess and confusion he has made is not your problem to solve. Your only concern should be yourself and your ds. Sometimes in that order too.. The rest will sort itself out.

Hissy · 27/02/2016 11:12

Done, I meant fine... iPad hates me too... Grr

tomatoplantproject · 27/02/2016 17:27

Hi Tina. How have you been today? You are in my thoughts xx

BitOutOfPractice · 27/02/2016 19:15

I'm thinking of you too

TheHobbitMum · 27/02/2016 19:29

Thinking of you, that is a huge shock for you! Take time to let it fully sink in for you both xx

eurochick · 27/02/2016 19:39

I hate to add to your worries but please get an std screen. It sounds like he was engaging in some fairly risky behaviour. I'm sorry that he has done this to you and your son.

Christinayangstwistedsista · 27/02/2016 19:46

Sorry it's been hectic. Told friends and family so that has been draining

Have had lots of contact from him but I just can't be bothered responding, I mean what is there to say

The reality is sinking in of being on my own, but I know the alternative is way worse

Weave your own cocoon of family and friends and keep him on the outside.

You're right, there's really nothing to be said, is there?

Being on your own isn't the worst thing in the world, at least you're living honestly. It's much harder being alone in a relationship.

tomatoplantproject · 28/02/2016 08:40

Thats really good you have support around you. They will help pull you through.

Being on your own can be lonely but it has liberation too.

I have the freedom to do all sorts of things for both dd and I which give us both pleasure but which he would have sucked the joy out of. Pink sparkly nail varnish is a particular favourite.

I am on my own but often don't feel lonely - my friends and family are seeing to that, and yours will be the same.

You are one strong lady and you will be ok and you will find happiness again. The details of what your x has done are particularly harrowing but so many people here have their own versions of the same story - its incredibly comforting knowing that they have recovered and rebuilt, and you will too.

expectantmum79 · 28/02/2016 09:11

One of these factors would have been a deal breaker but this is almost as though he's a completely different person from the one you knew. I think it might be useful for you to remember him as a different person in order to cope.Flowers

BitOutOfPractice · 28/02/2016 09:48

Well done on gathering your support around you. It's tough to say it out loud but they will be a great strength to you

Hissy · 28/02/2016 10:13

So glad to hear you have support! Am thinking of you too
