Teddy bear bauble sporting a pink rompersuit with moons and stars on, and a santa hat on for our dd, with glitter. And a bar of soap for us.

On the good side, a new flat screen tv, HD ready from PIL!! And a calendar for me, my MIL reads my mind sometimes I swear...

Any other 'interesting', 'unusual', 'weird' gifts to make us giggle? Or great gifts?

TinsellyRhino · 25/12/2006 16:30

I got the Gorden Ransey Autobiography from dh (chuffed as anyhtingm I didn't even ask him for it so he really thought about it and got it right)and some flowers from my stepsons girlfriend (my stepson is 20 and his girlfriend is 43, it still makes me giggle don't know why)

QuootiepieTheChristmasAss · 25/12/2006 16:30

Yulemoonfiend · 25/12/2006 16:31

£100 for an awning for my camper van (don't scoff, tis life changing )
nice perfume (first time in my life!)
very sexy portable speakers for my mp3 player (also life chaning, now I have music wherever I go!)
A Levellers DVD from my sons (anyone who 'knows' me on here will appreciate how chuffed I am with that!)
Food For Free book (really chuffed, I am a closet lentil weaver and love collecting herbs/leaves etc but never quite sure what to do with them)
a fab leather handbag (feel quite grown up - at 36 LOL)

QuootiepieTheChristmasAss · 25/12/2006 16:33

on a really plus side, I got a lovely eternity ring and a bracelet - emeralds and diamonds & a QI book!

TinsellyRhino · 25/12/2006 16:33

oh yeah and on the 'silly present' side of things dh's son (same stepson of mine who's girlfriend gave me flowers) gave him

a watch-he hasn't worn a watch in 20 years lol

and some cheap aftershave called Midnight-he never wears aftershave, he justs smells of his shaving foam, yummy gillette

bless, I remember buying my dad useless things like aftershave he doesn't use and socks, but at least socks are useful

divamumdiva · 25/12/2006 16:44

chocolates from dd
aromatheraphy candles from neighbour.

PanicPressiePants · 25/12/2006 16:54

I had a diamond necklace, and an adopt an elephant pack on the plus side from dp, but on the side was a paperweight from my mum.

Ds had lots of things but was only interested in backpack on wheels (think old lady shopping trolly) my friend bought him (he's 16months)) and has spent the day wheeling it around the house and ignoring all other expensive, well thought out presents!

Pinkchampagne · 25/12/2006 17:06

Perfume from my mum that I KNOW she received from a friend last year & wasn't keen on it!

longwaytogotobethlehem · 25/12/2006 17:08

Earrings, cardigans, smellies, a book, all very nice. Nothing useless or funny i'm afraid.

Kaz33 · 25/12/2006 17:54

My mum bought my 5 year old - an electronic weather station from the science musue and teach your child chess set for 6+. Hard work. One of her presents to my 3 year old was a 7+ climbing robot that climbs up windows. I don't think she knows what a toy shop looks like.

I've decided that everyone buys our kids presents that require adult intervention, not actually that they can play with. We also had worm world, a pottery/paint set, a very complicated construction and marble run from various family and friends.

Luckily i bought them loads of duplo and playmobil and DH snuck off yesterday and bought them a totally over the top scaletric. But saying that the three of them have been playing with for about 3 hours on and off

Charleesawmummykissingsanta · 25/12/2006 17:59

I got a great haul his year!

I got -

'Scene it' Friends edition,
Guinness Book of World records,
Watch,
Peter Kay DVD and Book
Fantstic bath gift set from my fave shop
Huge snuggly dressing gown
More smellies
Scissor Sisters Album
Ab Trimmer
Mug
Candles

Blondilocks · 25/12/2006 18:46

I got tons of jewellery :-)

Ex-Oh got me some lovely white gold diamond earrings. LO got me a lovely necklace & bracelet.

Didn't have any bad presents (except for some smellies).

Glassofwine · 25/12/2006 18:48

I got a fab sewing machine, no surprise as I'd emailed dh the details last week, but still chuffed.

Robbie, Damien Rice and Snow Patrol cd's from dh

Stella mcCartney bath oil - dh

A fishnet bodystock - guess who? [grin

PIL's - gave us some money this year, but on the basis of no christmas pressie, so can't complain.

My folks - don't do presents for adults.

All in all dh did well, not so sure about the bodystocking, but prepared to give it a go

lou33 · 25/12/2006 19:02

Lush smellies

My 'joke' present was a load of car polish etc - by appointment to HM Queen, lol - as I have recently bought a new car and am still rather precious about the upholstery

Ds got the most enoooooormous Thomas the Tank Engine set which has taken over the entire living room. I am going to be so pissed off with it by about the 28th...but he is overjoyed!

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 25/12/2006 19:10

PIL and B/SIL bought nowt for me, as is their way, being stupendously rude feckers. howver, and this is where I am , , they also bought stuff for ds but nowt for dd. am bloody pissed off at this tbh. may send them present only from ds next year and let him choose it himself in the pound store (ooh mummyjonk look, slime!)
