A man i know has asked me to be his fuck buddy. I was just wondering why he didn't ask me to be his friends with benefits? What i'd like to know is, is there a difference between the two before i say yes to anything?

OP..... You do seem a bit naive! Are you sure he was being serious? Actually "asking someone" to be your FB seems as if it would be more likely to be in jest that, actually serious. It's not usually an arrangement that is formalised before the Event!

Good for you. There no problems with sex for sex if it's good and no emotional connection if that's what both are happy with.

Word of warning, be very honest with yourself. If you find yourself wanting friendship or more then end it immediately so you don't get hurt.

IME fb situations tend to develop organically, I don't think I've ever had someone propose one beforehand. It does sound sordid! However I did enjoy the no strings sex with a few people in my life. One turned into a relationship, two didn't, and eventually I found DP who loves the bones of me and this is my favourite sort of relationship 😊

They can start with a business-like chat. I started 4 that way because I wanted to make sure everyone was after the same thing, because if there are misunderstandings/misinterpretations of the expectations then things can get very messy emotionally. My 4th was more fluid insomuch as I said I was looking for a FWB but that if a relationship naturally developed I wasn't going to stop it. Of the first 3, 1 got a bit messy because he developed feelings for me, but the latest is really nice and suits us perfectly for now.

OP.

Be very clear on what a fuck buddy entails.
You text to arrange hook ups. DTD. And scarper. No cuddling. No pillow talk. No staying over. No other texts. No exclusivity. You never ask if he's seeing anyone else.
Do you have the confidence to handle it? Because I do think it needs any individual to be self confident.

I've done it once. The sex of the scale amazing. He ended up falling for me. I had to end it . Such a waste.

Oh. And if he EVER blurs the boundaries and starts acting outside the rules, call him on it. There are some FB's who don't get the conquered box until they've made someone fall for them. If they ever change the rules of engagement then make sure it's because they want something more and are prepared to have a chat about it. Good luck OP!
